Turns out that the black may have been pepto or undigested vegetables, who knows. The doctor decided to up my Lansoprazole dosage to 30mg twice daily (which matches what comes with the triple therapy treatment) to combat the recurrence of burning in the stomach.
Somewhere during this time the hunger after eating stopped and I was just having random abdominal pains on both left and right sides just at the bottom of my ribs.

So I have GERD and regularly take PPIs (one 20 mg pill per day, I rotate between Omeprazole, Esomeprazole, and Lansoprazole because they seem to lose effectiveness after a while if I just stay on the same one indefinitely) but for the past several days I've had excessive gas and heartburn. I've stopped eating all spicy foods as a result but it so far hasn't helped. Is it safe to double my PPI dosage for a week or two to see if that helps me alleviate this issue?
these pass few day the doctor told me that i have acid reflux that cause phlegm and the doctor prescribe of prevacid (lansoprazole) and motilium (domperidone). now how could i know that i have already cured from the disease. the symtoms that come up to me in start is sore throat after few days it was gone and now very light chest pain and it only twice since i was diagnosed and there is no more symptoms.
Anyway, a month later, (yesterday) I was prescribed lansoprazole but I have done some research and it says lansoprazole can cause kidney failure. Should I take these tablets or wait till Friday and get a second opinion from the hospital on my assessment?

I was then prescribed a nasal spray which made no difference. Right now I am taking lansoprazole 15mg tablets (1 day) which is essentially for acid reflux. I was on a higher dosage at one point. It does seem to make a slight difference but it's still nowhere near "normal".
Does anyone have any idea what my condition could be? I would very grateful for any advice - like I say, it's had such a negative effect on my life for years now.
I had 3 operations in the first 5 years without success (it just came back) but a breakthrough came 4 years ago when my ENT specialist put me on lansoprazole, a PPI, believing that it was probably due to acid reflux (although I had no symptoms). The granuloma disappeared over the next 6 months.
However, it sometimes comes back, or at least the symptoms do, every few months, but go again after 2 or 3 weeks. But over the last week or so symptoms have come back with a vengeance.
pylori after having a breath test done, and have been prescribed by my doctor - lansoprazole 30 mg - metronidazole 400 mg - amoxicillin 500 mg. All three medacation taken twice a day for a 7 day course.I am now into the 5 th day of taking them.There seems to be no side effects, the problems of bloating,discomfort (painfull at times) that comes and goes througout the day,has not eased at all.
If these combanation of tablets were going to work,would my symptons have eased by now ?.
m back on Ranitidine as the side affects of Lansoprazole were unpleasant and just as bad or worse as the GERD. When I stopped taking Lansoprazole I had bad symptoms for a few days but they subsided. However since then my Acid Reflux / GERD has been more or less what it was before starting Lansoprazole. Some days its worse than others.
I've also read about the negative side effects of PPI drugs.
My doc prescribed me Lansoprazole gastro resistant as there has been blood in my vomit recently. Has anyone taken it or know anything about it?
So she went to the doctors and prescribed Lansoprazole. About a week and a half after the Lansoprazole was prescribed she started to shake. And for about a half a week now its been getting worse and worse. Now she is also having trouble seeing, and is experiencing ear ache's and headaches. While she is still shaking. Went back to the doctor, who told me I probably wouldnt want an endoscopy and put my on LANSOPRAZOLE to block acid. I still get these weird spasms. I'm kind of troubled they didnt bother to do an endoscopy. Could this be a serious problem, should I change doctors? I went to the doctor who imedietly suggested it could be an ulcer and prescribed me 30mg Lansoprazole, which I took for and immediately this sensation vanished no matter what I ate.
they say its indigestion but i am on lansoprazole which by the way i have never had indigestion the way they describe it. the pain in my chest goes all the way to my arm, jaw and even my throat.if all the tests are saying my heart is ok then what could it be.. i am not stressed or anxiuos by the way as i have a very loving a supportive family system and husband... what could it be.. please help

I never felt better until I got on 60 mg (2x prescription strength/day) of lansoprazole. Nothing OTC or of lower strength prescription helped. I've been on this therapy for months with no issues unless I forget to take it (blech).
m 5ft 7. I have been taking the Proton Pump Inhibitor Drug Lansoprazole for my Hiatus Hernia/Acid Reflux for roughly 3 years now. I started with 30mg per day and the past year I had to up my dose to 60mg per day due to my severe acid reflux.
For the past 12 months I have been experiencing what can only be described as Fatigue, brain fog and exhaustion. It is the type that isn't helped by sleep, rest, or even suggested by my doctor, excercise. Infact the latter only makes it 10x worse.
Has doubled the dose of Lansoprazole which has not made too much difference really. I have completely adjusted my diet having bought fantastic book "Dropping Acid - The Reflux Diet Cookbook & Cure". The coughing is less severe and I am not doing the sleep apnea thing now, which is an improvement. Throat is less sore and have been drinking aloe vera. However, am now experiencing constant tight chest; sudden head pains, extreme tiredness; dizziness & hot spells.
