Ultrasound negative for stones, normal upper and lower endoscopy, meds for IBS do not work. Currently taking Lansoprazole for reflux, but does not help much. No diarrhea, maybe some constipation. Got worse over past yr. Fatty meals do seem to make things a bit worse. GP orders Hida scan and ejection fraction was 22%. Hida scan did reproduce many of the symptoms, but they occured about 15 min after the scan was completed. So I have decided to go for the laparoscopy to have gallbladder removed.

i then started to have digestive problems (in that my body wont digest anything properly), bloated stomach, on/off constipation and fatigue. i finally went to the doctors and i was prescribed Lansoprazole for my acid...im 1week into the course and its getting better. i was also tested for helicobacter pylori, which came back negative!! I am still suffering with my digestion, im starting to become depressed over it....

I don't think you have an option to eat gluten. If you have Celiac, eating gluten will lead to other autoimmune problems. Get off the gluten completely and you may have remission or at least improvement in your fibromyalgia. For the constipation, what works for me best is a drug called Amitiza. It is not cheap, but it is less expensive than it used to be. I just take it every 3 days or so. I also use Miralax, which seems to be the same thing as your macrogol.

Have taken Lansoprazole for years and after a heart condition kept on it but started to get atypical chest pain, which was not put down to the cardiac medication. Eventually the g.p. suggested trying (Nexium) - Esomeprazole 20mg instead, with the instruction that if there was a temporary flare up, - double the dose.

I am 61 and on Lansoprazole for acid. I used to suffer a lot from heart burn. Now I am taking this med every day the pain has gone down to my lower abdomen and at night. My sleeping is of very poor quality because of the pain which interrupts my sleep and eventually will wake me up around 3 am. When I wake up I will go flat on my back or into the fetal position and fart a storm....on and on some lasting a few seconds continuously, which makes me laugh at myself.

Anyway, a month later, (yesterday) I was prescribed lansoprazole but I have done some research and it says lansoprazole can cause kidney failure. Should I take these tablets or wait till Friday and get a second opinion from the hospital on my assessment?

I had 3 operations in the first 5 years without success (it just came back) but a breakthrough came 4 years ago when my ENT specialist put me on lansoprazole, a PPI, believing that it was probably due to acid reflux (although I had no symptoms). The granuloma disappeared over the next 6 months. However, it sometimes comes back, or at least the symptoms do, every few months, but go again after 2 or 3 weeks. But over the last week or so symptoms have come back with a vengeance.

Had symtoms for a month till they were able to figure out what it was... Bloading ,stomach pain ,loud stomach , constipation, nausea. Anyway I been taking meds for 6 days now ( 3 different types of antibiotics) the first 4days I felt much better but the pain came back again specialy under rib cage and loud stomach I have 8 days more left of treatment. Do you guys think maybe the meds are not working if the pain went away for a little And then came back? Or is this normal?

pylori after having a breath test done, and have been prescribed by my doctor - lansoprazole 30 mg - metronidazole 400 mg - amoxicillin 500 mg. All three medacation taken twice a day for a 7 day course.I am now into the 5 th day of taking them.There seems to be no side effects, the problems of bloating,discomfort (painfull at times) that comes and goes througout the day,has not eased at all. If these combanation of tablets were going to work,would my symptons have eased by now ?.

Hi keeb06, any chance that you could be suffering from constipation? I only ask because I had the exact same symptoms and that's what it was.

m back on Ranitidine as the side affects of Lansoprazole were unpleasant and just as bad or worse as the GERD. When I stopped taking Lansoprazole I had bad symptoms for a few days but they subsided. However since then my Acid Reflux / GERD has been more or less what it was before starting Lansoprazole. Some days its worse than others. I've also read about the negative side effects of PPI drugs.

My doc prescribed me Lansoprazole gastro resistant as there has been blood in my vomit recently. Has anyone taken it or know anything about it?

Surely they have to be concerned about a patient with advanced liver disease vomiting and with constipation. As I said constipation can cause HE and he recently had a very bad episode of encephalopathy after his TIPS procedure. Something doesn't seem right about them not doing anything knowing the complications of cirrhosis your husband has already experienced.

I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer back in February 2010. History: Prior to the diagnosis I had felt a strange pressure in my stomach occasionally which started around October 2009. My son is 21 and keeps getting symptoms that doctors have not been able to help. He does get migraines but feels no pain just loses his vision, he has bad peripheral vision, he sees lines in his vision all of the time, he has advanced gingivitis, he has pain in his Adams apple, his legs hurt when he walks, he gets constipated a lot. I was put on Lansoprazole on 26 Nov and my doctor put me on 30mg for a week and then said to reduce it to 15mg which i have done and taken for the last 2 weeks. however on Wednesday i missed a tablet and took it Thursday morning and carried on with my usual practise of taking my 15mg in the evening as prescribed by my doctor.

So she went to the doctors and prescribed Lansoprazole. About a week and a half after the Lansoprazole was prescribed she started to shake. And for about a half a week now its been getting worse and worse. Now she is also having trouble seeing, and is experiencing ear ache's and headaches. While she is still shaking. I went to the doctor who imedietly suggested it could be an ulcer and prescribed me 30mg Lansoprazole, which I took for and immediately this sensation vanished no matter what I ate.

m 5ft 7. I have been taking the Proton Pump Inhibitor Drug Lansoprazole for my Hiatus Hernia/Acid Reflux for roughly 3 years now. I started with 30mg per day and the past year I had to up my dose to 60mg per day due to my severe acid reflux. For the past 12 months I have been experiencing what can only be described as Fatigue, brain fog and exhaustion. It is the type that isn't helped by sleep, rest, or even suggested by my doctor, excercise. Infact the latter only makes it 10x worse.
