Anyway, a month later, (yesterday) I was prescribed lansoprazole but I have done some research and it says lansoprazole can cause kidney failure. Should I take these tablets or wait till Friday and get a second opinion from the hospital on my assessment?
was taken to hospital and the thought it might have been angina had all the test done ie, exercise test which i could not complete due to the pain and had ecgs and blood tests to see if cardiac enzymes were ok. also had various other blood tests and they all came back normal. i was given gtn spray by paramedic befroe getting to hospital and that completely took the pain away within seconds.
I've been having these symptoms for about a week now... does anyone have a suggestion as to what could be wrong? had my blood pressure done and it was 100/80 which is normal... don't know what is going on an it is starting to affect my work. the headaches have been going on for about two weeks, the light headedness started on friday, i can be sitting at my desk and start to feel light headed... couldnt get off my bed on friday cause every time i stood up i nearly fell over...
Then the symptom was streaks of blood but not mouthful of blood. I was on lansoprazole then. My x-ray, blood test, ECG and stools check in end of May 2013 were normal. The specialist has also checked my nose and throat in mid June 2013 and found normal. I was given omeprazole and taking 1 capsule twice a day since end May till now. No endoscopy was done this time as the doctor believe it is due to GERD. However, I am still spitting blood on and off.
May I seek your opinion is it due to GERD?
I went to the doctor who imedietly suggested it could be an ulcer and prescribed me 30mg Lansoprazole, which I took for and immediately this sensation vanished no matter what I ate.

About 3 months ago started having weird vibrating in chest, went to a local doctor who did an ECG and other tests, no abnormalities, blood work was good. Lately I started having bad heartburn, and kind of weird spasms,( possibly PVC's) in middle of chest exactly were ribcage meets about one a day, usually after eating or laying down. Kind of feel like I'm catching my breathe and tingles outward.
At the beginning of Dec 11 I developed a really nasty cough. It became worse at night with me coughing so hard it made me vomit, my eyes & nose streaming at the same time. I would draw in a breath before coughing making a horrible noise - people who heard me said it sounded like whooping cough. I was feeling very unwell and not eating very much. After about 3 weeks this severe cough subsided a little but then I started to have these strange spasms in my throat at night.
I had 3 operations in the first 5 years without success (it just came back) but a breakthrough came 4 years ago when my ENT specialist put me on lansoprazole, a PPI, believing that it was probably due to acid reflux (although I had no symptoms). The granuloma disappeared over the next 6 months.
However, it sometimes comes back, or at least the symptoms do, every few months, but go again after 2 or 3 weeks. But over the last week or so symptoms have come back with a vengeance.
pylori after having a breath test done, and have been prescribed by my doctor - lansoprazole 30 mg - metronidazole 400 mg - amoxicillin 500 mg. All three medacation taken twice a day for a 7 day course.I am now into the 5 th day of taking them.There seems to be no side effects, the problems of bloating,discomfort (painfull at times) that comes and goes througout the day,has not eased at all.
If these combanation of tablets were going to work,would my symptons have eased by now ?.
In February 2014, I started taking Lisonopril for high blood pressure. However two weeks later I had was an apparent allergic reaction that landed me in the hospital with heart attack like symptoms: light headed, shortness of breath, chest pain, throat tightness, rapid heart beat. They performed multiple blood tests, chest x-ray, chest CAT scan, heart echo with stress test. They determined my heart was structural normal, healthy, and showed no signs of blockage.
m back on Ranitidine as the side affects of Lansoprazole were unpleasant and just as bad or worse as the GERD. When I stopped taking Lansoprazole I had bad symptoms for a few days but they subsided. However since then my Acid Reflux / GERD has been more or less what it was before starting Lansoprazole. Some days its worse than others.
I've also read about the negative side effects of PPI drugs.
The most recent attack happened about 8 weeks ago, I woke in incredible pain was vomitting and had diarrhea. Paramedics came and they couldnt find a pulse due to my blood pressure being so low I was rushed to hospital where it took around 45mins to stabilise me. Frightening stuff! While in hospital I noticed I was passing blood...dark red from the back passage. A recent colonoscopy was normal and showed no problems.
I ws perescribed lansoprazole which worked instantly. however after over 2 weeks of no nausea and feeling great the nause has returned....has anyone any words of advice and what i can do to reduce it? my blood levels all came bck clear except for the pancreas one??? which shows levels of 130 as opposed to recommened 100.
For the last week or so my blood pressure has been running fairly low. The diastolic number has been below 60 consistently and as low as 47. Took my bp just a few minutes ago and it was 96/55. I'm 26 years old and my blood pressure is usually around 110/70.
