The Doctor have upped my dose of Lansoprazole and I am also on Ranitidine as well. Apart from the pain and being sick it hurts to eat food and after I have eaten also I am loosing my appetite too. My diet hasn't changed and not changed anything else.
Avatar m tn I looked up IBS at NDDIC page and I do not have the symptoms. I have normal bowel movement and the pain bothers me only at night and in my sleep. To night I took one webber naturals digestive enzymes pill and one equate gas relief capsule. I will report tomorrow if these are any help.
Avatar n tn Food intolerance and inflammatory bowel conditions such as IBS, Crohn’s, celiac etc should be considered. Log in what you eat and see if there is a correlation between a certain food type and the symptoms. You should consult a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system) or a physician for this. Take care!
Avatar f tn Doctor gave me prenisolone and antibiotics to check it wasnt an infection but all that happened was my stomach felt like it had been kicked by a horse, I had a horrible taste in my mouth and major acidy feeling. The doc eventually suggested I went back on lansoprazole and after about 3 weeks I felt back to normal. When I was feeling better I was scheduled in for an endoscopy and the results were bile and acid reflux, esophogisits and gastritis.
Avatar f tn You will need to take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into by a carbon urea breath test and a combination antibiotic tried. Many a times a persisting H pylori infection can be the cause behind acidity not responding to treatment.
Avatar f tn No right sided pain or discomfort. Ultrasound negative for stones, normal upper and lower endoscopy, meds for IBS do not work. Currently taking Lansoprazole for reflux, but does not help much. No diarrhea, maybe some constipation. Got worse over past yr. Fatty meals do seem to make things a bit worse. GP orders Hida scan and ejection fraction was 22%. Hida scan did reproduce many of the symptoms, but they occured about 15 min after the scan was completed.
5276842 tn?1365878296 I am considering cutting out gluten again as this is the easiest to cut out for now as I also weightlift and use protein powders and eggs for protein. I struggle to get enough protein as it is and have a stock of powders i cannot afford to replace with dairy free options. Any advice you can offer me on relieving symptoms would be great. Currently the only medication I take are amytriptilline 20mg for the fibro, lansoprazole for oesophagitis and macrogol for constipation.
Avatar m tn m back on Ranitidine as the side affects of Lansoprazole were unpleasant and just as bad or worse as the GERD. When I stopped taking Lansoprazole I had bad symptoms for a few days but they subsided. However since then my Acid Reflux / GERD has been more or less what it was before starting Lansoprazole. Some days its worse than others. I've also read about the negative side effects of PPI drugs.
Avatar n tn This is because lansoprazole and other proton pump inhibitors weaken the bones and have been linked to the development of osteosteoporosis. People who are at higher risk for sustaining such injuries are those who take higher doses of this medication and those who take this medication for one year or longer. Also, people who are 50 years of age and older are also at risk of sustaining similar injuries.

Avatar m tn This can be a side effect of Prilosec which is a good medication to treat acidity, IBS, GERD etc. Hence you can stop this and see if your symptoms subside. There are other medicines available which you can try. “GERD symptoms are often relieved by over-the-counter, acid-reducing agents called antacids.

Avatar f tn Antibiotics give me pain and a burning sensation when I take them, even if they are a lower dose. Ibuprofen also does this if it's too strong or if I take it without eating. The pain and burning is directly underneath my ribs in the center of my abdomen. I have had an Upper GI done but still waiting for the results (my allergy doctor sent me, as I get random hiccups every day and he asked if I burped a lot and I said yes.

Avatar f tn I'm 19 and have always been in good health except the last two months, I suddenly had constant headaches, dizziness, and pain in my right ear/neck. Anyhow...that seems to be getting some better, but every time I eat...I sort of get a cough...that I dont have any other time...and get this feeling I'm gonna throw up. Sometimes, I do, and then I feel fine and the cough disapears again. I dont eat too much or too often(2 meals a day-every 12 hours) and the more I eat seems to make it worse.

Avatar m tn It started last march with bad diarrhea and now has turned into cramping just below my ribs with gurggling, nausea. My stools are black and mucous is present. Ive been to the doctor and he thinks i have ibs and gluten intolerance. Ive cut out gluten (was so hard for me to do) and really have been eating so good but yet i feel so sick. Everyday i wake up with a headache and general ill feeling, im afraid to eat or go anywhere. Any suggestions on what this could be or what i can do to get better?
Avatar f tn Anyway, a month later, (yesterday) I was prescribed lansoprazole but I have done some research and it says lansoprazole can cause kidney failure. Should I take these tablets or wait till Friday and get a second opinion from the hospital on my assessment?
