Avatar n tn ve just dug this out of a web site, its a bit of info on your drugs, Minor lansoprazole side effects Some of the lansoprazole side effects include stomach pain, irregularity, diarrhea, headache, nausea and dizziness. While most of these lansoprazole side effects are considered to be minor if you have any of these lansoprazole side effects for more than a few days, you should contact your doctor immediately.
605877 tn?1301700646 I was put on Lansoprazole on 26 Nov and my doctor put me on 30mg for a week and then said to reduce it to 15mg which i have done and taken for the last 2 weeks. however on Wednesday i missed a tablet and took it Thursday morning and carried on with my usual practise of taking my 15mg in the evening as prescribed by my doctor.
Avatar m tn My stool is pretty soft and pale yellow with occasional diarrhea looking the same. The water in the toilet becomes slightly cloudy with that. When I have vegetables like broccoli etc, I can see its still pretty much the same as when I swallowed it (undigested?). I have had a lot of aching in my right leg which I am not sure is related but it seems to have coincided with the introduction of Lansoprazole into my life. What is going on? Too much PPI?
Avatar m tn m back on Ranitidine as the side affects of Lansoprazole were unpleasant and just as bad or worse as the GERD. When I stopped taking Lansoprazole I had bad symptoms for a few days but they subsided. However since then my Acid Reflux / GERD has been more or less what it was before starting Lansoprazole. Some days its worse than others. I've also read about the negative side effects of PPI drugs.
Avatar m tn Went back to the doctor, who told me I probably wouldnt want an endoscopy and put my on LANSOPRAZOLE to block acid. I still get these weird spasms. I'm kind of troubled they didnt bother to do an endoscopy. Could this be a serious problem, should I change doctors? He did take a chest xray of the gas in my body and said it all looked normal ( no odd shapes ) uhmm I guess he is the best doctor in town.
Avatar f tn Ultrasound negative for stones, normal upper and lower endoscopy, meds for IBS do not work. Currently taking Lansoprazole for reflux, but does not help much. No diarrhea, maybe some constipation. Got worse over past yr. Fatty meals do seem to make things a bit worse. GP orders Hida scan and ejection fraction was 22%. Hida scan did reproduce many of the symptoms, but they occured about 15 min after the scan was completed. So I have decided to go for the laparoscopy to have gallbladder removed.
Avatar f tn for 3 weeks, i have had pain above my navel which radiates left and right, terrible nausea with retching and sometimes vomiting, and very loose and watery stools. i have had a headache just to the left of my forehead, and during the nausea/retching/diarrhea episodes, my skin becomes very clammy and i feel hot and like i'm going to pass out. the pain reaches a climax and slowly subsides. then i feel very tired. today i feel a lot better. what could be causing this?
Avatar m tn You can have diarrhea after having your gallbladder removed; this is due to bile salts spilling into the colon and causing diarrhea. A powder medication known as cholestyramine can be helpful. I am amazed at the number of medications that you are taking. I would be concerned about the ongoing use of metoclopramide as this can cause muscle twitches in the face and elsewhere in the body (known as tardive dyskinesia). I hope this helps.

Avatar f tn Anyway, a month later, (yesterday) I was prescribed lansoprazole but I have done some research and it says lansoprazole can cause kidney failure. Should I take these tablets or wait till Friday and get a second opinion from the hospital on my assessment?
Avatar m tn The only way to diagnose IBS is by your symptoms and trapped gas causing pain which is relieved when passing the gas is a biggie. Look at what you are eating and drinking on a regular basis and eliminate one thing and see if this improves....if not add that food back into your diet and remove another...this is how you will find out if it's food causing the problem. Other symptoms of IBS is constipation or diarrhea and alternating between the two.
Avatar f tn I ws perescribed lansoprazole which worked instantly. however after over 2 weeks of no nausea and feeling great the nause has returned....has anyone any words of advice and what i can do to reduce it? my blood levels all came bck clear except for the pancreas one??? which shows levels of 130 as opposed to recommened 100.
Avatar m tn The doctor tried me on omeprazoles about 6 mths ago then had me on lansoprazole once a day. After six weeks symptons were much better, and the last 3 to 4 weeks of that time, pain and discomfort were totally gone. Then it came back boxing day with revenge, then i started taking lansoprazole back again. Unable to have any relief ,decided to see doctor again about 3 to 4 weeks ago and it was decided i should have a breath test, which came back 2 weeks later positive.
Avatar f tn ve had the same thing, wake up nauseas (try eating a small carb snack before bed) and after I eat, I have diarrhea/semi-solid bowel movements minutes after. Lack of appetite, tired, etc. I went to the doctor and he said try an anti-diarrheal like Imodium and It Worked!!! Good luck.
Avatar f tn Doctor gave me prenisolone and antibiotics to check it wasnt an infection but all that happened was my stomach felt like it had been kicked by a horse, I had a horrible taste in my mouth and major acidy feeling. The doc eventually suggested I went back on lansoprazole and after about 3 weeks I felt back to normal. When I was feeling better I was scheduled in for an endoscopy and the results were bile and acid reflux, esophogisits and gastritis.
Avatar f tn It may be u r in a flare and that is y u do not know individual triggers, but u should avoid certain foods, greasy, acidic, spicy, and carbonated bevs....and caffeine.....so coffee and some teas. I had it so bad one time I got the reflux from water, but that is bcuz everything was so upset, and u have to stick to the modification of ur diet and lifestyle to help calm it down....
Avatar f tn My doc prescribed me Lansoprazole gastro resistant as there has been blood in my vomit recently. Has anyone taken it or know anything about it?
Avatar m tn So she went to the doctors and prescribed Lansoprazole. About a week and a half after the Lansoprazole was prescribed she started to shake. And for about a half a week now its been getting worse and worse. Now she is also having trouble seeing, and is experiencing ear ache's and headaches. While she is still shaking. What could be the issue?
Avatar n tn Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, smoking, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees. Avoid lying down for least 2 hours after food. Maybe these tips will help you. If these tips do not help, then liver function test, pancreatic enzymes, and HIDA scan for gall bladder should be done.
Avatar m tn First of all, since you were in Thailand, and since it all started with vomiting and diarrhea, it is important to get a stool test to rule out parasitic infestations, especially amoebiasis, giardiasis, tape worm, round worm, etc. All these can cause malabsorption, anemia, weight loss etc. The anemia and weakness can cause the heart to beat faster. So, along with stool test you need to test for anemia, low vitamin B12, and electrolyte imbalance.
Avatar n tn Now the food rots in your stomach causing burps and then it goes through your intestimes not digested or with bacteria therefore causing the vomiting and diarrhea. Just go back to taking a couple of Tums now and then when the acid is too much.
Avatar n tn t believe, can feel milk fermenting in her even, has pain on feeding and is distressed and cries a lot, and doesn't gain weight despite vast amounts of calories (more than enough for catch-up growth, she's under a dietician). Obviously i stopped the lansoprazole. Also had a trial of metronidazole by a paediatrician who wasn't convinced of overgrowth - she gained 10oz in one week - the best gain ever! But recurrent symptoms of misery and gassiness.
Avatar f tn Hello I'm going to be having 3 stents inserted into my arteries in a couple of weeks time. My specialist (who will be carrying out the procedure) has asked me to take 600mg of clopigdogrel and 600mg of asprin the night before the procedure, and I'm a bit worried about doing this. Is it normal practice? I currently take 75mg of clopidogrel every day.
1854507 tn?1322631960 I ate a very hot chilli a week ago and the same night my stomach was on fire and bloated , and since then my upper and lower abdomen is constantly bloated tight and hot especially after I eat and when I lie down which stops me sleeping also there is no pain and just mild nausea at times ..also my stomach acid was coming up into my throat for a few days after but has reduced now but I’m now coughing up green phlegm and my nose is burning ?
547002 tn?1219797376 But when I reduce the dose the withdrawal flu-like feeling is terrible. I seem to have the same effects on Nexium, Prilosec and Lansoprazole (Prevacid here in Taiwan).
