Avatar n tn The second time I experienced SVT was in 2007, again my Dr gave me Lanoxin. Lanoxin was only prescribed when ever i have SVT. This 2009, I had several SVTs. In Sept 2009, my Dr. suggested to hv my regular ECG, CBC and my first time to undergo a 2D Echo with Doppler. My BP is 90/60. All ok, except for my low rbc ct in CBC. My Dr told me that low rbc cause lack of oxygen that is the reason i had SVT. She prescribed Ferrous Sulfates as source of my iron for blood oxygen.
Avatar n tn Is your uncle taking Lanoxin (heart medication)? Lanoxin has shown to increase the pumping strength. My father had a weak heart beat and after being on Lanoxin for about 10 years now, he's heart beat is strong (very strong per taking his pulse). Ask your uncle's doctor about Lanoxin.

329165 tn?1515471990 Went to Cardio for 6 weeks check-up and he prescribed LANOXIN 0,25mg with high starting dosage (had to take 4 tabs the 1st day). It is now 7 days later and still no improvement. My HR is still fast and BP low and I now have extra systoles/irregular HR. Should I stop using LANOXIN and switch to SOTACOR (I used it pre-op). I had Ablation done in Nov. 2007 to treat PSVT. Thank you!
Avatar n tn He currently takes lasix, aldactone and coumadin. Also, I researched Lanoxin and that sounds like it may be a drug suitable for him. Any advice you may have would be great thanks.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 39 year old female who just had an ablation 8/9/11 for SVT and I was told that it was (AVNRT). We (including the doctors) believe that the ablation was a complete success. Last week I woke up with a heart rate of 240bpm that scared the living daylights out of me. To begin with, even before the ablation, I never had an episode wake me up.

390388 tn?1279636213 call your dr and have them write a new script for digoxin or lanoxin... there is a possibility that your dr may want a new dig level before starting new script...
Avatar f tn My mother is on coreg .325 and docs just took her off of lanoxin hoping that is causing platelet drop, they aren't sure yet. today heart rate at 142 bpm at rest. All this started happening feb 21. before that heart rate around 100. The problem with more coreg or other beta blockers is the fact her bp too low 96 over 50 the majority of the time. I am soo scared for her, lanoxin prevents heart attack yet it could be the cause of very low platelets and she could bleed to death. catch 22.
Avatar n tn SVT also can be caused by very high levels of the heart medicine digoxin (such as Lanoxicaps or Lanoxin) or the lung medicine theophylline (such as Theochron or Uniphyl). Some types of SVT may run in families, such as Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. Or they may be caused by a lung problem such as COPD or pneumonia". I hope this helps.
Avatar n tn i know that my daughters cardiologist at the univ of mich had told us when they put her on lanoxin that the risks of amiodarone in her case made her not a good candidate for it. i do know that many have taken it for short periods and it seemed to help, but i believe it generally not taken long term as lanoxin or digoxin is hope my little bit helps and good luck....... dawn p.s.
Avatar n tn Sir, i am 35 year old, arround 12 years back i was treated my mitral stenisis by balloon valvotomy, after that I was taking lanoxin and diuretic tablet and pencilline enj. Along with this Aortic calve is also trileaflet, thickend and fbrosed with (moderate leakage) having Lt, Atrium dimension 35 mm and LA-Aorta (1.6).
Avatar f tn The medications really helps and are best. My dad was taking Lanoxin to strength his heart pump and I took his pulse the other day and was it strong. There was quite a change that I felt from before he started taking it. I am glad to hear that you are improving and feeling better. Take care.
Avatar n tn My baby girl is 2 months and 2 weeks old her doctor told me se suffers from VSD muscular 4mm, ASD2 4mm,PHT and he gave her medicine lasix and lanoxin but she became lazy, less active and always sleepy without appetite.
Avatar f tn I was wondering about my heart rate being fast, usually over 100 and if up walking around it is in the 115 to 120 range. It does go down in the 90 range when resting. I had a more severe problem when i was pregnant and took lanoxin. That has been 6 yrs ago and have gone to my doctor and he put a monitor on me for a few days and told me that it does get high but comes down and is not worried about it.
Avatar m tn Lithium is one of those meds that you just have to play with. It's a trial and error type of med. Honestly, even a level of 0.9 is not therapeutic for bi-polar disorder. It should be at least 1.0 if not up to 1.5. And 0.6 is definitely not therapeutic. I was on 1500mg of Lithium once daily, extended release, and I still wasn't at a therapeutic range. Everyone is different. My metabolism just happens to metabolize lithium at a higher rate than it does for others. That might be your issue.
Avatar n tn He was then discharged and is now recovering at home. He was taking Lanoxin and diuretics and did not have any swelling or breathlessness. So after 3 months the doctor stopped these medications (without checking the EF). He went for his checkup this month (9 months after surgery) and his echo shows an EF of 40%. The doctor also mentions "Mild LV Dysfunction". So now the doctor has put him back on Lanoxin and diuretics. Is this heart failure where the prognosis is poor?
Avatar f tn My seizures were under control for a couple of years even thought my blood results said I was not within the therapeutic range. I moved out of state and my new doctor wanted to increase my dose's so I would fall with the range. I did not care at the time and let her raise my dose. Talking with my new neurologist who is the Newsome chair of epileptology and director of the Epilepsy Program told me that in short the therapeutic range is different for everyone.
162069 tn?1224677411 ___________________________________________________________ If you took Digitek, Cardoxin, Lanoxin or Lanoxicaps and suffered from overdose, it could be due to taking defective tablets containing twice the active ingredient as approved.
Avatar f tn My blood pressure is high 160/94 and doc prescribed an ACE inhib for me. How will this effect my PVC/PAC's? Help or hurt? Right now I take lanoxin .25 for PVCs. HBP runs in the family so I was doomed anyway.
Avatar f tn After joining the Forum and learning about the importance of FT3, I got mine tested and found that even though my FT4 was very high in the range, my FT3 was very low in the range. After a med change to a combo T4/T3 med, my dosage has been tweaked until now FT4 is .90 (range is .60 - 1.50) and my FT3 is 3.8 (range is 2.3 - 4.2). I did not take meds until after the blood draw. Testing also showed a low level of Vitamin D, which is quite common with hypothyroidism, so I supplement that.
Avatar f tn Your TSH really hardly moved. TSH can change by as much as 70% just depending on the time of day the blood was drawn. It's still above range, and AACE recommended many years ago that TSH range be changed to the much more reasonable 0.3-3.0. FT3 and FT4 are much more important than TSH, especially once on meds. The target for FT4 is about 50% of range. Yours is at 24%. Target for FT3 is 50+% of range, and yours is 16%. So, you are still hypo.
Avatar f tn It helps us in identifying whether the drug is in a therapeutic range or not. The decision of dosage adjustments depends on the doctor’s discretion and varies person to person. Do write to us again with more information. Take care and good luck!
