Avatar n tn amiodarone is, from what i understand, a very powerful antiarrythmic with serious side effects... i know that my daughters cardiologist at the univ of mich had told us when they put her on lanoxin that the risks of amiodarone in her case made her not a good candidate for it. i do know that many have taken it for short periods and it seemed to help, but i believe it generally not taken long term as lanoxin or digoxin is hope my little bit helps and good luck....... dawn p.s.

Avatar n tn Is your uncle taking Lanoxin (heart medication)? Lanoxin has shown to increase the pumping strength. My father had a weak heart beat and after being on Lanoxin for about 10 years now, he's heart beat is strong (very strong per taking his pulse). Ask your uncle's doctor about Lanoxin.
Avatar m tn I have always had thin hair and now that I am taking the drugs I do, I have had to deal with the side effects. The benefits far out weigh the hair loss. There are wigs or, in my case, I have grown my hair out and wear a ponytail alot. Have your mother talk to the doctor about this and the doctor can order tests to make sure there isn't anything out of whack. Take care and keep me posted.
Avatar n tn Digoxin is the generic for Lanoxin, so they are the same (just in case you are taking both). Coreg is a great beta blocker, so that should really help the fast heartbeat and blood pressure. Lanoxin helps the heart to beat stronger and get a better fill. Lanoxin will strengthen the heart muscle. Sounds like the medications are really improving your heart. That is really great news!! Yes, your heart can get better.
Avatar f tn it is the generic form of digoxin and many people who were taking digitek are now taking lanoxin
Avatar n tn So I can take it one hour before eating or have to wait 2 hours after eating. Perhaps taking your Lanoxin with food interfered with the absorption and that's why it took longer to kick in. Or maybe it was just a coincidence. Check out the instructions. You want relief as soon as possible. And did you find out what kind of SVT you have? The term SVT covers several different types of atrial arrhythmias.

Avatar n tn Hi there, Thank you for writing to us here, though I am sorry that you are struggling with side effects from the result of breast cancer medication. I am also a breast cancer survivor, however as I am triple negative, the hormonal drugs are not effective for me so unfortunately I cant speak from experience. However, that doesn't mean that I cant find out some interesting information for you in relation to libido and Arimidex.

Avatar f tn Like... they said at 10mg there are very few side-effects and at 20mg there are noticeable side-effects. But, you obviously don't want to change the dose on your own, as this can be extremely dangerous! But, it would be worth talking to your doctor about if the side-effects don't go away fast enough. Although... most of the time... with SSRIs in general I find, it can take 2 to 4 weeks for side-effects to go away and then they're gone for good.
Avatar n tn I've been dealing with gerd issues for the last half year. Colonoscopy and endoscopy were negative. I did do a series of rolling barium stomach xray which did show my stomach was on a roller coaster ride. I've been on most of the meds for gerd, from Zantac to Nexium to Lansoprazole to Pantoprazole. In December I started to develope numbness in my left foot and right hand. (Last night I noticed my left anke was swollen.
Avatar f tn So today my Celexa dose was upped from half a pill to 1 whole pill and the side effects are coming back like when I first started... Sweaty, can't sleep, headache, stiff neck, clenching teeth... Etc. I don't know what to do. I tried taking stuff for it, including an Oxy but still no change. What can I take to make these side effects not so bad? I don't see the dr till Thursday, so I can't ask her... If anyone has any suggestions?
Avatar n tn When I was in my teens I started having electrical problems in my heart and they used Dilantin (looooong story). I hate that medicine! The side effects were terrible. I then went to have a normal pregnancy & delivery with a healthy baby with no congenital heart condition (Thank GOD!) My blood pressure has always been extremely low and I have not required any other open heart surgery as other patients with my same original condition.
