Avatar n tn I noticed a couple weeks ago that when I lay on my left side when going to sleep at night, I can really feel my apical pulse...it really pounds up and down. I definitly have an anxiety problem, so once I notice something like that I cannot get it out of my mind. So nonstop for the last couple weeks I have been feeling my apical pulse and when I do I can feel it easily. I'm a 20 year old competitive distance runner, so I know I'm healthy and in shape..
Avatar n tn Is your uncle taking Lanoxin (heart medication)? Lanoxin has shown to increase the pumping strength. My father had a weak heart beat and after being on Lanoxin for about 10 years now, he's heart beat is strong (very strong per taking his pulse). Ask your uncle's doctor about Lanoxin.
Avatar n tn Wife, 89, has history of atril fib and is prescribed lisinopril (40mg), lasix (40mg) and lanoxin (20mg) along with coumadin (5mg) daily. Recent wide-ranging BP/Pulse readings (160's/80's and pulse below 50) led to adding Toprol XL. First tab last night at bedtime resulted in lowered BP (128/50 and pulse of 41) this AM. Accompanied by inability to urinate (except few drops) for a water drinker.
Avatar f tn The medications really helps and are best. My dad was taking Lanoxin to strength his heart pump and I took his pulse the other day and was it strong. There was quite a change that I felt from before he started taking it. I am glad to hear that you are improving and feeling better. Take care.
Avatar m tn this Heart issue was discovered....and has a clot on muscle and because of it the electric pulse is delayed by 0.07msecs and heart beats are irregular so by reducing the PT INR content .. they r controlling it.. he is taking Acitrom for thinning blood and to control the heart beat he is taking Betalock tabs and other tabs like cardace , lanoxin,aldactone,pletoz.. so wat can be the cause for the clot on the muscle.....
Avatar n tn The second time I experienced SVT was in 2007, again my Dr gave me Lanoxin. Lanoxin was only prescribed when ever i have SVT. This 2009, I had several SVTs. In Sept 2009, my Dr. suggested to hv my regular ECG, CBC and my first time to undergo a 2D Echo with Doppler. My BP is 90/60. All ok, except for my low rbc ct in CBC. My Dr told me that low rbc cause lack of oxygen that is the reason i had SVT. She prescribed Ferrous Sulfates as source of my iron for blood oxygen.
Avatar f tn I have had atrial tachycardia in the past (went away as I grew older) and then occasional ectopic beats which was treated with Lanoxin which was ceased when my blood pressure dropped too low. My only signs/symptoms are the fatigue, low pulse sometimes in the 40s, low blood pressure around 85 to 90 systolic as my norm and when I’m due for a transfusion I get short of breath and dizzy. Sometimes I wake up during the night gasping for breath and palpitations which I had attributed to anxiety.
4703993 tn?1379768388 I haven't tried this, but Lanoxin (same thing) was offered to me by one doctor and I mentioned it to Heiferly who explained how it could be a possible fit in my situation (I have P.O.T.S. and I.S.T. and have had high catecholamine/inactive metabolites of same numbers here and there in the past with testing. But I was concerned when I read about possible toxicity so I didn't do it.
329165 tn?1515471990 Went to Cardio for 6 weeks check-up and he prescribed LANOXIN 0,25mg with high starting dosage (had to take 4 tabs the 1st day). It is now 7 days later and still no improvement. My HR is still fast and BP low and I now have extra systoles/irregular HR. Should I stop using LANOXIN and switch to SOTACOR (I used it pre-op). I had Ablation done in Nov. 2007 to treat PSVT. Thank you!
Avatar m tn Findings SPECT images demonstrate absent to severely reduced tracer uptake in apex (anteroapical and inferoapical), anterior (apical and mid), anteroseptal (apical, mid and basal), inferoseptal (apical, mid and basal), apical inferior, apical inferolateral and apical anterolateral segments. There is moderately reduced tracer uptake in basal anterior and inferior (mid and basal) segments. Rest of the myocardial segments show good tracer uptake.
Avatar n tn He currently takes lasix, aldactone and coumadin. Also, I researched Lanoxin and that sounds like it may be a drug suitable for him. Any advice you may have would be great thanks.

390388 tn?1279636213 call your dr and have them write a new script for digoxin or lanoxin... there is a possibility that your dr may want a new dig level before starting new script...
Avatar f tn My mother is on coreg .325 and docs just took her off of lanoxin hoping that is causing platelet drop, they aren't sure yet. today heart rate at 142 bpm at rest. All this started happening feb 21. before that heart rate around 100. The problem with more coreg or other beta blockers is the fact her bp too low 96 over 50 the majority of the time. I am soo scared for her, lanoxin prevents heart attack yet it could be the cause of very low platelets and she could bleed to death. catch 22.
Avatar n tn what does anterior apical small defect means as it relates to this perfusion test?
Avatar m tn -Asymptomatic during stress -Good exercise capacity -ST depression noted during stress -Positive to target HR with 1mm ST depressions in V2-3, Pseudonormalization of T wave also noted -Abnormal perfusion imaging study -There is evidence of a large amount of stress induced ischemia involving the apical inferior, apical lateral, mid inferior, mid inferolateral, basal inferolateral and basal inferior walls -Overall systolic function is normal.
Avatar n tn i know that my daughters cardiologist at the univ of mich had told us when they put her on lanoxin that the risks of amiodarone in her case made her not a good candidate for it. i do know that many have taken it for short periods and it seemed to help, but i believe it generally not taken long term as lanoxin or digoxin is hope my little bit helps and good luck....... dawn p.s.
