lamictal zoloft interaction

Hi Everyone! For those of you on or who have tried Lamictal, did you ever have constant or near constant spasms, shakiness, dizziness, and loss of balance? I am on the starter pack right now, in the last week, so I was on 50 mg for the past 2 weeks and last night took my first 100 mg dose. Today I woke up-barely- and felt all of the above, which have been continuing now for the past 2 hours. I am a bit worried and wonder if I should call the doc.

I have finished my first week and feel the same, except my jumping leg has subsided (probably from discontinuing the Zoloft). It seems Lamictal is good for depression, but I am afraid it will have the same effect Zoloft did on me. P.S.

Do they help to control the attacts? have tried lamictal butt there were a bit of problems of my skin . scratching all day day long ....

I am currently taking Zoloft and Lamictal (and Trazadone for sleep at night), but I'm feeling like the only way out of the bind I am in is to actually *be* a little manic. (I haven't had a manic episode in a long time - actually, I was only ever hypomanic.) I have had a hopeless feeling and I don't actually think it's depression - I think it's real, and I am wondering about the potential to get *more* depressed if I go off Lamictal, or if it shouldn't matter.

What should or could happen to someone who is taking Abilify 5mg 1X a day, Zoloft 50mg 1X a day, Gabapentin 200mg 3X a day.

I take Porzac in the morning and the afternoon. I take Lamictal before bedtime as it makes me sleepy.

went to his GP and got zoloft. after 2 months he knows it isnt working. he just asked me today to read about lamictal and she what i could find out so here i am.i think he is feeling so bad he is ready to give it a try. is anyone taking it? what has been your experience? thank you so much.

With Zoloft and BuSpar the interaction is a pharmacodynamic type interaction. There is an additive effect. Both increase serotonin levels. Contraindicated unless benefits outweigh risks and no alternatives available. It is all relative to the dose you are taking, careful dosage adjustments should be done if you intend to take both drugs.

I take my zoloft and ativan in morning as it me jittery and causes insomnia. I have seasonal allergies and was wondering the best OTC antihistamine would work better. Allegra, Zyrtec or loratadine. I was on 12.5 zoloft for 2 weeks and tapering up to 25 mg (split another 12.5 in half so 3/4 a pill then one whole 25 mg. I have to do this slowly as I am super sensitive to meds. Thanks for any help. Plus I eventually need to taper down my ativan when I level on the zoloft.

t worry I know people on 250 a day and Zoloft is safe at that dosage) Then I would add Deplin which will help the Zoloft work better. Deplin a simply a very concentrated form of Folic Acid (really just a vitamin) that helps antidepressants like Zoloft work better. (keep in mind Deplin is only avalible with perscription) That's not a radical change and if it failes to help, then at least your not having to stop Abilify when it failes to work.

I've been taking lamictal for years and I suddenly got really bad migraines so I went down 25mg. my psychiatrist and physician is suggesting I take depakote with it. this is all new to me and decreasing lamictal has made me a lot more anxious.... if anyone has had any experience with the two together I would greatly appreciate any thoughts ideas or opinions.

I have been on 200 mg Zoloft, 200 mg lamictal, wellbutrin and 3 mg Xanax daily for 3 years. before welbutrin I was on abilify and it worked very well but it was unaffordable so doc changed it to welbutrin , which I never thought worked. I started feeling down and anxious and asked the dr to change me back to abilify since I had new ins that will cover it . Instead she weaned me off the Zoloft in only 9 days with instructions to start pristiq 50 mg daily after the nine days.

I was actually advised not to eat grapefruit while on Zoloft. As Sharejew said, it does interact with SSRIs like Zoloft. In fact, depending on what pharmacy I used to get refills, there would be stickers on the medication bottle stating not to consume any grapefruit products....furthermore, both my pharmacist and doctor told me to stay away from grapefruit. I am not really sure why your pharmacist gave you the advice he/she did...keep us posted.

I have recently been put on Zoloft and was informed that taking both at the same time could cause stomach bleeding, but my doctor said she would put me on the Zoloft anyway. Is this safe? I normally do not take the naproxen every day but there are times I do take it daily for a week or two when my back is especially inflamed. You are correct about there the MAJOR drug interaction between tramadol and sertraline (Zoloft). Please note that there are several moderate drug interactions with your medications, for example, sertraline (Zoloft), pregabalin (Lyrica), clonidine, and methocarbamol (Robaxin) all can increase side effects such dizziness, drowsiness, and impaired thinking and judgment when taken together. It would be a good idea to review your medication regimen with your provider and pharmacist.

I think I had a seizure last night when I was trying to sleep. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it felt like an electric shock and it felt like I was moving like a fish out of water. This is the second or third time this has happened to me in the past month. I've been very anxious lately so I think it's come from that. I am 24 years old and I have been treated for depression and anxiety since I was 14. I'm on Lamictal, Zoloft, Wellbutrin.

Same here Seph,,I take wellbutrin and lamictal and feel great. My Psych NP also added a 50mg dose of Zoloft and this is the best I've felt in years. And great as not in manic,,but just normal I guess, if there is such a thing!

I am taking Lamictal, Zoloft, Ativan and Wellbutrin for BP II and PTSD. I am having memory issues that are bothering me. Maybe since my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's this year (he's 78). Has anyone else had issues with memory while on these medications?

Are there any studies with substituting Tryosine or SAMe while trying to get off of zoloft? I cannot cold turkey the zoloft without withdrawel effects. Would I have to gradually add these and take simultaneously with Zoloft? Is it safe to take one or both of these with zoloft? If so, what dosage? Also, is it safe to take zoloft while taking natural harmones ( cream)?

I have been through a rollercoaster ride since March of last year. I was on Lamictal and Wellbutrin at that time. I stopped the Lamictal abruptly (I know, big no no) and started taking Wellbutrin right after. On the fourth day of taking the Wellbutrin, I started experienced violent jerking movements as I was trying to fall asleep. I didn’t sleep at all for three nights. Finally I went to the pcp and she prescribed Restoril for the time being.

ve read about brain shivers upon withdrawal from zoloft but currently experience brain shivers whilst taking zoloft. I take the zoloft in the morning and by about 3pm or 4pm begin getting the electric shocks in my brain. I used to get this only if i missed a dose but they are quite regular now and i am consistent with taking my meds. Do you know why this would happen? My doctors do not recognise these brain shivers.

I take Methadone 80mg a day once in the morning, and have been prescribed to psychiatric medication for a long period of time. These consist of Abilify and at one time Zoloft I kept on having very strong panic attacks followed immediately by loss of breath like asthma but to the point of hyperventilating . s making me absolutely miserable and I feel like I am going insane. I have seen a doctor who has prescribed me Latuda and Lamictal. I started out taking Zoloft but it made me much more manic which is how the bi polar diagnosis was made. In addition to the racing thoughts, extreme anxiety I am also severely depressed to the point I am not functioning well. Before the Latuda I was on Zyprexa which made me suicidal. My question is could the Latuda be contributing to the racing thoughts?

Klonopin and Ativan are similar meds in that they are both benzodiazepines. After doing a quick look, Zoloft is not listed as an interaction with Klonopin, so you may ask your Doc about trying a different anxiety med to avoid an interaction with your Zoloft, or switch the Zoloft to something that works with the Ativan if the Ativan works well for your Anxiety. Like I said above, I would start by trying to find a new Doctor, though. I hope this helps somewhat, sorry for being so long winded.
