Hi im currently taking 150 mgs seroquel 25mgs Paxil In 08/08 i was given starter pack for Lamictal afraid of rash so i started on 12.

One week ago a psychiatrist put me on 300mg Lamictal pm (without titration), 20mg Geodon pm, 1mg Intuniv pm, 10mg Ambien pm, 15mg Focalin am, and 40mg Vyvanse am for ADHD and bipolar. Prior this regimen I wasn't on any medications. Today I had to call an amulance as my resting pulse shot up to 140bpm and my blood pressure went up to 166/90. I thought I was going to die. As well, my lymph nodes are swollen and a bleeding rash has started to form on my hand.

If you stop the Lamictal for much longer (like a day or two, tops), you'll need to start from the beginning with a titration. I have a full body sun burn looking rash. Have been on Lamictal one year, then all of the sudden this sunburn rash started on the back of my neck and then chest, and now full body. Something to bear in mind with the Lamictal and the rash potential. For me, the medication dries out my skin like you wouldn't believe. Because of that I get contact dermatitis, which looks like a rash, initially. The rash isn't something to mess around with, but there were a few scares where the dry skin was causing problems; it wasn't an allergic reaction. Your doctor needs to research lamictal on the web because there is an extremely serious rash that can affect a person taking lamictal. Not saying you have the rash, but your doctor should know this. You need to see a psychiatrist that knows these drugs.

I went to the ER and was told to stop my medication, which I did(they put me on steroids for the reactions). m sure your psychiatrist has been through this but it will take a couple of months to build up to a proper dose because Lamictal must be raised at a slow rate because of the potential of a rare rash (which is only 1 in a thousand people who take it and lowers after the first six months). My daughter was on Topamax for a mood disorder. Found out it's nicknamed "dopamax" because it can cause cognitive slowness plus drowsiness. Hopefully you'll just build a tolerance for it and not see these things.
