Lamictal in the morning

Common Questions and Answers about Lamictal in the morning

lamictal

Avatar m tn d prefer to take it in the evening/morning that you could take it in the evening/morning. You could, in fact, insist on taking it when it makes sense to you if there isn't a valid reason to do otherwise. This is all voluntary. It is all at your discretion. Sure, you're dealing with an authority figure. You're also dealing with your one and only body, your one and only life. You get to make the decisions about that until you prove yourself incapable.
Avatar m tn My doctor has put me on Lamictal 25mg in the morning with my usual morning dose of Efexor 150mg. He has also put me on Zyprexa 5mg to help me sleep, as my sleep has been very broken, and I became very anxious. Will it be difficult to come off Zyprexa as I don't want to be permanently on this ? Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn I broke out in the rash -- it was HELL for two weeks. And it really surprised me because I'm not allergic to anything! It can be a very big deal if you break out in the rash.
Avatar m tn i just started on fluoxetine and it depends on when you take it, if your taking it in the morning then switching to the evenings should solve the problem.
Avatar n tn Mine started with a fever on the first day. Second day, regardless of the fact that I thought the fever broke in the late morning, my face turned red. As the day progressed the rash started spreading down to my neck. And I still had the fever, dizziness, etc that came along with the fever. Late morning I woke up with the fever still and as I jumped into the shower I noticed that the rash had spread to my entire body. It wasn't itchy, but irritating like a sunburn.
Avatar n tn my son is taking 200 mg of lamictal in the morning and 200mg of lamictal in the everning (400mg daily) for seizure control. he has been on lamictal for approximately 3 years and has been a very successful drug. Just recently he went to the family doctor for routine blood work and they called the other day to say his lamictal level was 9.5. They say a normal level is 1 to 4. Should we be concerned about this number? What should we do? Our neurologist is in Colorado and is a 3.5 hour drive.
603015 tn?1329862973 Yeah, that's not the kind of rash to screw around with...But, if you were also on Epilim at the same time, your increase in getting a rash jumps quite a bit higher. In fact, that's another reason why my shrink and I weren't too concerned with the rash; a lot of the Steven-Johnson Syndrome cases in clinical studies involved folks (particularly children) taking both medications. Honestly, most shrinks won't give you both valproate (Epilim) and Lamictal at the same time.
Avatar m tn Yes in general its a very good option with fewer side effects than other common mood stabilizers so it all depends.
1134609 tn?1269272200 I got the extra 50mg dose refilled and took it later in the day, after taking my normal 200mg dose in the morning. The 50 mg dose evened me out very well. However, the next morning, when I took the full 250mg dosage, it made me manic and then I crashed. So, my shrink decided to try me out on Lithium; it didn't go very well. I started to go toxic on it and then had a full blown agitated mania episode fifteen minutes after taking a dose..I almost went to the hospital; it was rough.
1687184 tn?1307478592 Oh looloo, you make me giggle! Twice now, you have come to my aide, thank you. Thank you for laughing with me, I really appreciate a good sense of humor! I tend to be quite a smart-a$$ as I love laughing and making others laugh too:) Glad I could make you LOL! I feel much better now! You're right, I should take the med, and I know this... I think.. and I really should lock my computer in a safe and stop obsessing over all this...I know this....
Avatar f tn stopped the lamictal last night and wnet back on abilify last night feel like i have sores in my mouth this morning,,,strange could this be from the lamictal...........
Avatar f tn I had ringing in my ears from Lamictal but only for the first 4 days that I started it. I'm surprised you got it after taking it for so long. I'm not a dr but I would think your 4 ear infections might be the cause. Maybe another ENT opinion. Did you ask your psyc dr if this is possible after taking Lamictal for 1.5 yrs and then for this to all of a sudden happen? As for the Prozac that you were on for 15 yrs, if it worked so well, it makes since to me to go back on it.
1372629 tn?1278521051 i use to take mine in the morning. i have no idea on zoloft though... lamictal made me a little lathargic.
Avatar f tn He took me to the couch about 2 hrs later and I soon fell asleep. I woke up in the morning my stomach hurt I had a fever my muscles ached and still a little shakeup. I cried so hard realizing what had happened there were lamictal pills in my ultram bottle. I cried so hard .. I couldn't stop thinking I could have died . My boyfriend n girlfriend calmed me down as the day went on u calmed down and ached as the day went on.
899491 tn?1243773627 He's been my doctor for about 9 years. He is a very good doctor and very attentive. Everyone could be afraid of the side effects of Lamotrgine and I wonder how many of his clients have call him in the middle of night asking if dandruff itch is the start of of SJS? I'm sure he has to deal with a bunch of nervious nellies. I tried it and didn't work out. I'm not the type to blame the doctor...things happen. We just take all the broken pieces and start all over again.
Avatar m tn So do you mean you are taking have the dosage in the morning and half in the evening? Did that help with your brain fog?
Avatar m tn I did want to add, you said you were taking low doses. In my experience, if a med is not working the dose is raised. The dr only goes up so high before they decide it is not working. If you are going to stay on low doses every time you might not know if the med would have really worked or not. Meds have a therapeutic dose and everyone is different, our bodies respond differently and our tolerances are different.
Avatar n tn We started with 25mg and increased over time to 400 mg a day. One 200 in the morning and the other at 3;00 p.m. and my depressioned lessoned. However recently my depressioned worsened, so he added trazedone which I could not tolerate and then we tried Lexapro both made me feel worse so I stopped both after a week. He doesnt recommend me getting off the lamictal. However I would like to get off Lamictal. F.Y.I.
Avatar f tn When I get up in the morning, I am confused, tired (exhausted), paranoid, racing thoughts, severe anxiety, naseous (I have lost over 50 pounds in six months (a lot because I can't eat during the day). The loss of appetite is about the same time that I took Geodon. I'm now off of Geodon. The symptoms haven't improved. I really haven't felt well for about a year. Everytime I talk to him about my problems, he increases my Lamictal.
Avatar f tn t bother her after she adjusted to it but the new addition of 125 mg in the morning put her over the top in terms of bad moods, irritation, etc.. Please let me know about you so I can understand the relationship of weight, age and medicine doses. Your keppra doses werent high either, and yet you had a bad response to it. Please fill me in on this. Thanks so much.
Avatar m tn this is all new to me and decreasing lamictal has made me a lot more anxious.... if anyone has had any experience with the two together I would greatly appreciate any thoughts ideas or opinions.
1134609 tn?1269272200 I talked to my shrink about splitting up the doses between the morning and noon; 200mgs in the morning and 50mg at 12pm. Yesterday, I took my 200mgs in the morning and continued to feel good. But, when I took the 50mgs at noon, I stayed even for an hour and then became very, very, agitated... I have no idea what was going on. I woke up feeling terrible, but took the 200mgs. I evened out in a hurry, but again, an hour later, I became really agitated and have remained so since..
Avatar n tn Freddie has been building up on lamictal since May and it now on his level of 100mg in the morning and the same in the evening. His seizures have become more frequent since we reached this level (once to twice a week lasting for no more than 40 seconds) and noticeably within an hour or so after taking his morning dose and certainly more prone if taken without enough food in his tummy.
Avatar n tn I had that sort of experience with it, too. It could go either way. For me, it faded off as my body got used to it. Though it could also get worse the more Lamictal is in your system. It's one of those things that need to be waited out, but if it gets uncomfortably worse, talk to your doctor.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed a couple of months ago with bipolar disorder type 2 and I experience mixed features. My doctor increased my dose of lamictal two days ago from 100-150mg (100 in the morning and 50 at night). For a time, I've been having trouble restraining myself (but am still able to control myself, it's just hard) when people criticize me or say something about me that I don't like. Now I want to cry when this happens as well.
202665 tn?1248806733 So, my pdoc mixes in yet another drug in my ever growing cocktail - Abilify. The plan is to start taking this to better control my hypomania and depressed states when they happen since the lamictal doesn't seem to be doing it. She's asked me to use the Abilify at night in place of the lamictal and if that works, replace lamictal all together - no change to the cymbalta or lithium. Does anyone have any information on Abilify - has it worked, any side affects, etc?
