Lamictal and oxycodone

Common Questions and Answers about Lamictal and oxycodone

lamictal

Yes, the antidepressants are monitored by a physician - wellbutrin, prozac and lamictal (which is actually an anticonvulsant that is used to treat mood disorders, Ilike tegretol or depakote). Depression is much more of a long-term impediment in my life so I am reluctant to change the regimen. However I know from experience that using opioids makes my depressions worse. Thank you for making me feel so welcome. I hid this problem, lied, denied, you name it for a long time.
I got my wisdom teeth out this morning and everything went well. Just dizzy and tired. Dad brought me home and walked me up to my apt. Oddly enough, I actually feel pretty good today. It's almost crazy! I don't remember the last time I felt this good! It could be the pain meds (oxycodone and ibuprofin), but WOW I actually feel okay today! AS in, not very sad at all and there's barely even anything in the background! SO stellar!
Werewolf, I am curious about what you said about an interaction between oxcy and lamictal. My pdoc knows I am in pain management and I am wondering why he has never said anything about it before. I feel like I need the oxcy, especially after last night when I couldn't sleep because my back was really bad. Also, I get scared when people mention the "cocktail" of meds I am on....
Second, are you still on lithium? Or, did you change to Lamictal and Seroquel and drop lithium entirely? The first time I was on Lamictal I was also taking Topomax. They said that one or the other of those was likely to cause a slight weight LOSS and reduced carbohydrate cravings. But, maybe that was the topomax... I'm pleased to hear you didn't have weight gain on lithium, but sorry that you have experienced it taking other meds. Do you find the Seroquel effective?
(Not due to the medication in any way) As a result, I was prescribed Vicodin and Oxycodone for pain. In the past I had always refused pain medications. I felt tough and manly if I didn't need them, but this wasn't getting your wisdom teeth pulled. I needed to take them. Having very little knowledge of opiate painkillers at the time I began taking them as the doctor prescribed. When I took the first dose I felt amazing. The opiates completely eliminated all my anxiety and depression.
Also in the uad result it shows negative for both and cutoff levels were 100ng/ml for oxycodone and 1ng/ml for fentanyl. In the result explanation it does say that they were not detected but this could be due to individual metabolism or not taking it. The doc also had told me that if I had taking it at all in the last 30 days it would have showed up yet on the results explanation it says detection time approximately 2-3 days* for oxy and 1-3 for fentanyl.
I am diagnosed with BPD, Panic disorder and Bipolar II disorder and am currently taking Lamictal, Prozac and Lyrica for sleep. I am also taking percocet for the horrible panic episodes that I have because that seems to work as well for me. I think I know why this works for some people. In an article that I read a couple of years ago,(unfortunatly I lost it) they said that the brain produces it's own morphine.

Well tweekie, you are bi-polor 2 like me and I can tell you that adding a good mood stabilizer to your Effexor helps a lot. I use Lithium and Lamictal along with my antidepressant to keep level. There is a drug used to help people get off Opiates called Soboxone. It is an Opioid that does not bind directly to the Mu Opiate receptors in the brain. It is often used by addiction doctors to help wean their patients off of powerful Opiates.
Here is my problem I take Avinza(morphine), oxycodone, lamictal, hepsera and zoloft. Is there anyone out there who can give me advice as to what meds they used? I'm very happy to be pregnant but also scared.
Prozac is of course an anti-depressent and Lamictal a mood stabilizer. Well all I can say is everyone needs to stay in treatment but it points out to me the future research needed and advocacy as well to have the new antipsychotics come out.
I didn't have any rectal muscles for 10 years. My rectum and vagina prolapsed and my womb was falling out. I went into surgery and had an A&P repair, partial hysterectomy and an umbilical hernia repaired. My problems started out as OCD. Then chronic fatigue syndrome, followed with debilitating migraine headaches. A couple of years later I had to have surgery to remove endometriosis and a cyst on my ovary. After six months I got pregnant and I had my second son by C-section.
how much were you taking a day
These are often prescribed for runners, sports injuries to joints, and those suffering from arthritis. Syva labs has recently reworked its Cannabinoid test and claims to have eliminated this problem. But a Science magazine article (July 8, 1988) lists Ibuprofen as cross reactive. Under the new government guidelines THC testing levels will be reduced to 50 nanograms. Many more THC false positives can be expected in 1994. Dristan Nasal Spray, Neosynephren, Vicks Nasal Spray, Sudafed, etc.
Hi Mindy: Well, your between a rock and a hard place. If you are released to 50lbs. you may loose your Doctor and your meds. They will feel that if your capable of preforming this task, you are not in enough pain to warrant pain meds. If you stay where your at, you are broke. I believe that it is in your best interest to find a new job. You really shouldn't be lifting heavy loads and in your profession, it is unavoidable.
As you can see that didn't work and got into pain management where they did injections, epidural steriod, then they got me hooked on MsCotin which is the Morphine er. I am on cymbalta for my depression and anxiety, lamictal for that as well. I was on gabapentin but weaned myself off of that. I never took as much as the pain med doctor told me to take. So it was easier to get off that. I was also on Nortripolin(sp) as well got off that myself.
I wake up ny legs and feet hurt and are very stiff. My back, hip and head hurt. I took it at 9pm and it is 1pm. I still am in a fog. Don't even know how I have managed to take care of my 3 kids. My house is pure mess and I can't find the energy to clean it. Is it worth it? Am I suppose to stick it out and it will get better. Give me a 10mg oxycodone and I am superwoman! How come there isn't a psycho drug I can take that will make me feel like I do when I take percocet?
Anyway, thanks to all who shared their first-hand experiences. I have stopped SSRIs three times and Lamictal twice. The SSRIs were worse for me. The Lamictal withdrawal was just a bad, funny feeling - kinda like the feeling I get sometimes anyway. Like I've got restless legs syndrome in my whole body and am coming out of my skin. My teeth and tongue felt funny - like they were hollow. It was bizarre and uncomfortable, but not painful and or frightening.
Fellow Abusers, I am finally reaching out to my Oxycontin and Oxycodone problem that is tearing me up in all facets of my life. I know I need to take a step to change my life completely, but it possibly entails ending am 8 year relationship, due to lack of understanding.
It was a half of a ten and then I wanted more,,thus began the mental cravings and such.I never took more than two and a half ten mg a day and can get a bottle of forty 512 a month from my neurologist..I did ween myself off of these because once I started taking them everyday I noticed my modd swings when I stopped. Now today I woke up feeling crappy and have been taking them everyday for a little over 3 months and I want to stop for good.
I have much better luck with other drugs, even oral meds like hydrocodone. Tylox is oxycodone with acetaminophen and is a stronger pain med than hydrocodone. And Mollyrae said it well, all our chemistry's are different. She is currently taking an anti-anxiety and anti inflammatory drug with her 2mg's of Dilaudid. These should be holding her and if not than it is time to change medications. They may have to "play around" with them until they find one that works for her.
I have tried the medications below and the only thing that helps the racing heart and everything else is the opiates. I have very many of the same symptoms as cushings and a pituitary tumor which started when I broke my nose almost 6 years ago. Medicine's I've been on since 2003; Anti-Depressants / Anti-Anxiety Medications (with little to no help...most of the time I didn't even realize I was taking anything.
Then my doctor put me on mscontin, topamax, lamictal, zanaflex, and cellebrex. I’m still on them and the spots are still continuing to worsen.
morphine, fentanyl, oxycodone, hydrocodone etc. But first, one needs to know if one has it. If you increase the dose and your pain increases, then this is a likely possibility. Alternatives to mu-receptor bonding opiates are those that work at the NMDA receptor such as methadone and there is another good NMDA receptor blocker called ketamine.
I did notice the other day my heart was doing something strange, so I checked my pulse and caught a short run of VT. I had taken some left over Oxycodone for pain because I hurt my neck, but not sure if that caused it.
