labor contractions on one side

Can you have contractions on just one side? I am having dull achy pain ony left side that spikes every 10 -15 minutes. Could this be contractions?

This is my third pregnancy and i have never experienced contractions on one side. Your whole stomach should be getting extremely.tight and hard(usually 3-5 minutes apart for an hour or more)That is a contraction which can be followed or accompanied by cramps and back aches.

IM 2 days short of 34 weeks i have been feeling like contractions for 3 hours in my lower left side right under my belly bump and I'm not sure if it's labor?

Its to help her lungs mature incase they arent able to stop the labor.

I thought the same thing and had watery discharge!!! I went into labor 3 days later, trust me ladies, you'll know(: it's painful and the contractions are very consistent. If you have questions you can always call the hospital as well(: good luck ladies!

Braxton hicks contractions to my knowledge do not hurt. Labor contractions will feel like menstrual cramps in ur lower abdomen. I used to get BH contractions all the time with my first pregnancy and it would come and go and never hurt.

If they were contractions, your whole belly would tense up like a hard rock during the height of one. Then it would release at the end. Cramping on your left side may be ligament pain, or possibly even a kidney stone (I had two while I was pregnant, and round ligament pain the whole time). Speak about this with your midwife or OB and they can put a fetal monitor around you to check for contractions or fetal movement.

Just curious if anyone else is on Procardia for contractions and if you are experiencing any side effects. I started this on Tues and I just looked up all of the side effects (my 1stmistake...lol) ... I thinkI am having every single side effect!!... I am 38 wks and last night I had two (i think) real contractions. They started on my left side of my back and went down to my pelvic bone, and man did it hurt. It lasted about 20 seconds or so and this is for both times cause it happened twice. Well I guess my question is why did it only happen twice? If they were "real" contractions then shouldnt they have kept coming?

it would be differnt if i hadnt been thru labor before. it really seems like my contractions are long and painful until they put me on the monitors.

True contractions are not relieved but an 8oz glass of water, resting on your left side for an hour and wake you when you are sleeping. True contractions cause you to make cervical change. I don't know how far along you are. They can feel like a squeezing and then release, can feel like back pain that comes and goes. Regardless, try 8oz glass of water, resting on left side (for good blood flow to baby) and then if it doesn't resolve call your OBGYN office.

I'm having contractions that are 2-5 minutes apart I'm 36weeks they are pretty strong but not painful at all. I have no idea if I'm dialated or effaced. Should go to labor and delivery or will I be ok? I really dont want to go and be sent home the hospital is 20min away and I have to get on the highway to get there I have no car so I have get ride.

When I was admitted to the hospital the night before I had my son, I was having contractions the whole night every 2 mins, they were terrible, I had to stay in bed tho unless I just had to use the bathroom, but I didn't sleep at all, I felt like I was gona crawl out of ny skin tho, I would bring my knees up and move them side to side tho, that's all I could really do, I didn't sleep at all tho, but I was in real labor, maybe you can try what I did, idk if it will help, but it did a t

i would go to the hospital hun, just to be safe..better that than preterm labor you know?
