Common Questions and Answers about Labor contractions during sleep

Avatar f tn I want to hear about your labor stories. What happened before you went into labor? Did your water break, bad contractions, bad back pain etc? How long did the symptoms last before you actually went into the hospital? Did you do anything crazy or different that day to bring on labor? Tell me your stories! I'm sure other FTM would love to hear them as well!
7882296 tn?1405391067 Yes you can have contractions before your water breaks only 10% of mamas have there water break on it's own. You could call your labor and delivery, unless contractions are 5 min apart I'd go in now. How far along are you?
Avatar f tn I've been having contractions all night long. About a min or so long. But they aren't close enough together and still kinda far apart. I lost my mucus plug yesterday and though I know it could be up to weeks before I go into labor.. I don't know if these are real contractions, braxton hicks or my body getting me ready. Any of you ladies have advice on what this might be?
Avatar f tn If they are still happening I would go in nd flyer checked because they should have subsided during sleep if it wasn't true labor. But sounds like your in pre term labor.
384896 tn?1335294331 it's probably labor my dear lol. Your contractions can stem down to your legs, especially if Ivy is laying awkward. I would suggest trying to walk it out...it could be her putting more pressure on you, since gravity does take place when you stand lol. Everytime you have a contraction, it pushes her head down more...your body will actually expell her without pushing, thats what contractions do...they push baby out.
316015 tn?1216733431 Well this comes from my mom: (i'm on my first pregnancy so havent had it yet and won't as I'm having a Csection) She said that her back would hurt, and it would start in back and wrap around to the front in waves. And the reason the baby doesn't move during BH contractions is he/she is squished during them and really cant move much. lol Mom also told me that BH contractions are similar to labor contractions but really don't hurt.
Avatar f tn Agreed with the above post. Even if it's real labor, most hospitals say they'll send you home if contractions aren't less than 5 mins apart.
3145189 tn?1343157421 s now nearly 8. Last night the contractions began. I would rate the pain a 6-7 at maximum. I was averaging every 3 minutes for 30 seconds. The contractions were very low and my left hip hurt so bad I was sure something was wrong. I toughed it out for four hours and eventually cried myself to sleep. I knew if it was serious labor it would get bad enough that I couldn't wait to leave. This morning I woke up feeling very very sore, but no contractions.
11319269 tn?1427344026 WELL I WHEN IN TO LABOR IM ONLY 34 AND 5DAYS ... I THOUGHT IT WAS BH THE NIGHT BEFORE SO I TOOK A BC N WHEN TO SLEEP THEN THE NEXT DAY THE SAME THING SO I TOOK A BC WHEN TO WORK ..

Avatar f tn Yes in the beginning my son would freak out during contractions.

689528 tn?1364135841 There are a couple times through the book though that mention having a glass of wine during the first stage of labour in order to relax and sleep through contractions. I think it's put in our heads about alcohol and the effects on a pregnancy are sooo terrible. But would it really be that terrible to actually have a glass of wine in order to get a couple hours of shut eye?! Just wondering your thoughts ladies..... Note: a GLASS of wine....they don't talk about a whole bottle...
Avatar f tn When your about to go to sleep your body sends out a hormone to help you sleep it can also send you into labor
Avatar f tn does your baby move during contractions? if not, that means its not a real contraction right?
Avatar f tn Its relaxing between contractions so you are ready for labor. Most of all get sleep where you can. It makes after labor easier because you will be tired but its so hard to sleep in the hospital and all you want to do is care for the baby. When you can, sleep in the hospital after the baby is born. Its really hard to but let your birth partner hold the baby while you sleep.
Avatar f tn Local anesthesia may be used by your health care provider during delivery to numb a painful area in or around the vagina if stitches are needed. Local medications do not reduce discomfort during labor. Regional anesthesia (also called an epidural or spinal anesthesia) is administered by an anesthesiologist (a doctor who delivers pain medicine) during labor to reduce discomfort.
Avatar f tn Has this happenned to anyone? im in so much pain and cant sleep its now 5.30am here.
Avatar n tn During early labor, ask for newbain and you will sleep through early labor. Then when you can, get the epidural and you can sleep through hard labor till the end and you feel hard pressure to push.
Avatar f tn Has any one felt contractions, only when their laying down or trying to sleep?? Thy are so painfull n about 10 minutes apart but when I get up in the middle of the night thinking I'm about to go into labor, thy just stop :(. I'm a ftm n pass my due date. 40wk 3dy. I also lost my mucus plug today. Should I call my doc or just deal with it until my baby wants to show up?
Avatar f tn ve been having, what I think anyway, Braxton Hicks. She kicks during them. And I was wondering if during real contractions if the baby will still kick. I'm so nervous for labor but so excited for my baby!
Avatar n tn ve started to dialate imma stay to be evaluated for a vbac if im still not dialating im getting sent home...
338963 tn?1253660822 contractions are... -irregular and unpredictable -confined at lower abdomen and groin -disappear during ambulation & sleep -no progressive increase in duration, frequency or intensity True Labor signs: contractions are..
Avatar f tn Just curious.. Does anyone go into labor during the day? I feel like from everyone I know, stories I hear and from personal experience babies like to come in the morning or at night, so you're laboring through the night.
Avatar f tn They felt completely different from ur regular Braxton hicks contractions usually felt during pregnancy. For me it started off as light lower abdominal cramping and it hurt, but not that much - just like when ur on ur period. I remember thinking I haven't felt this at all during pregnancy and wondered, is this labor? I too went to sleep after timing it for close to an hour. Then I woke up in the early morning with the same pains only stronger and closer together, they came and went.
Avatar f tn t think my babies moved around during contractions. . And during active labor they barely move at all. Natural labor does start out with minimally painful contractions far apart. Hope they get organized and becomes real labor for you!
