Avatar f tn Please know that I am not trying to advertise the Dr. Bernstein Weight Loss Program. The reason I mentioned this program is because even with the Dr. Bernstein Program , you loose about 4-5 lbs per week, not 10 ilbs per week. I lost close to 40 ibs on this program. I stopped the program because I was satisfied with this amount of weight loss even though the doctor on sight said I could loose another 10 lbs.
Avatar f tn caregiver222's advice is logical. If for some reason you can't afford the test, try the Slow Carb Diet. The name is misleading, it should be called the Slow Carb Nutritional Program! You can stay on it for the rest of your life! If you own an iPhone - the apps are free online. You can order it online as a hardcover or an eBook. Basically, you can everything except for "White Carbohydrates" .... Bread, potatoes, fruits, rice & noodles - for example!
Avatar n tn fatigue, hair loss, cold feet at night, memory loss,depression, exercise like a maniac but can't lose weight (5'3 - 144lb), throat feel like it need a blanket underneath to separate by skin, High LDL, low Vitamin D. The endo told me that it would be possible that i get Hashi's but it won't be until 5-10 out. He was going to do a 'wait n see' approach. :( I was just happy he gave me meds, but it feels that i may need a new doctor.

Avatar f tn t have hypothyroidism. You might also want to get tested for insulin resistance and PCOS, which also make weight loss very difficult to impossible.

Avatar f tn So I decided to take matters into my own hands with weight loss. But nothing seem to be work. I know weight loss isn't something that work over night. I'm not getting any younger so I came to a Conclusion to stuck with a Deit plan that best fix and works for me. I set a goal for myself to lose about 25lbs in 3-4 months. I know it isn't going to be easy. But that's a risk I'm willing to take. This is going to be a very long Journey but I'm kinda ready for it.
Avatar f tn More can be lost through water weight with diuretics and crash dieting can also increase fat loss but only for a short time. When we lose fat too fast our metabolism will slow in order to conserve fat (fuel) deposits (starvation mode) and that creates new problems such a resetting the metabolic rate and fat gains during the plateau, etc.

I do not have thyroid. My PCOS tests were also normal. Still I cannot lose weight. I am a pro-diabetic and it is very important that I lose weight. Please help!
Avatar f tn Muscle is your friend... however, make sure your strength training (weight lifting) is utilizing low weight and high repetitions... you most likely do not want to bulk up.
Avatar f tn The most important things for weight loss is to calculate BMI and calorie intake requirement. Diet should be planned with more proteins and fibre, less carbohydrates and fat. On an average 2-3 kilos should be lost in a month. You should right and healthy. Never skip a meal. Also a fitness regime needs to be fixed. I would suggest that you visit a nutritionist and fitness expert for further assistance. Best.
Avatar m tn I do the on-line program and the system figures out your points by weight, age etc... I don't go to meetings. I eat around 1500 calories a day also. Very frustrating. If this happens a lot where are the answers?
Avatar f tn In 2008 I joined LA weight loss which worked I got down to 125lbs and hardly exercised. Now they have closed I been trying to do this on my own. I exercise on my bowflex(weights) 3times a week for an hour. I still follow the LA weight loss diet I am now up to 130 and I go down one day up the next. I take one day a week to eat what I like(I always did that) if I dont then I couldn't follow a diet. I dont know what else to do.

Avatar n tn Not a problem I have experienced (but then I haven't lost much weight in recent years - and need to) - but I can believe a weigh loss program can cause some stress and stress can aggravate heart rhythm issues. Still, try to stay with the program and try to think positive - be happy about the weight loss. If the rhythm issues worsen you may want to discuss with your doctor.
