L arginine in erectile dysfunction

Common Questions and Answers about L arginine in erectile dysfunction

l-arginine

Avatar n tn L-Arginine and L-Citrulline are quite effective in restoring sexual ability in a certain universe of patients, specifically those with diabetic neuropathy. You need to take at least 2-3 grams of L-Arginine for an effect. Purchase it in quantitities at health food stores.
Avatar m tn It could be a number of things, depending on your age, health, nutrition, etc. For example, diabetes can have an effect on erections, as can many medications. Psychological reasons are also very, very common: it may be that you’re feeling stressed about things unrelated to sex, it may be that you feel “performance anxiety,” etc. Or you could be feeling physically uncomfortable.
Avatar m tn Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem. I went to my doctor and he gave me a prescription for Viagra, 50 mg. My question is this: Is it safe to occasionally take Viagra if I also take L-Arginine?
Avatar m tn Well, uncontrolled diabetes and high blood pressure are both precursors of erectile dysfunction. Also, some medications taken for high blood pressure can cause erectile dysfunction. So, first rule out these causes. Just taking supplements may not help. You need to be evaluated by a doctor and proper medication can help restore the erectile function. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!
Avatar f tn Maybe he could take some supplements like L-arginine and start working out. That should rev him up a bit. But it could just be lack of sleep.
Avatar n tn As a matter of fact I loss my libido and got an erectile dysfunction due to Serenoa Repens, and my tests in every other area are perfect. Who knows how the serenoa repens is metabolized? how can you cure this adverse effects?
Avatar m tn I'm 32 and suffer from Retinitis Pigmentosa. I recently visited my general practitioner to complain about ED (erectile difficulty). I'm in good health, have normal blood plessure, normal blood work so she wasn't exactly sure what the problem could be. She suggested taking Viagra tos ee if that "jump started" things. I mentioned to her that I had read somewhere that if you have Retinitis Pigmentosa, viagra (or other ED pills) are not recommended.
Avatar m tn I had problems of getting hard and maintaining erection so I started taking medicantions (Korean Red Ginseng, L-Arginine) and it really helped me to perform in bedroom but How can I get rid of these medications and get erection naturally
Avatar f tn Erectile dysfunction in a 50 year old man is complex. There may be some performance anxiety and some vascular narrowing. He needs also to be checked out for diabetes though this has probably already been done. If he contacts me I may be able to help. Testosterone therapy, behavioral therapy and if necessary Alprostadil injection are all ways forwards. One way or the other, and this is worth remembering, ALL erectile dysfunction is manageable.
Avatar m tn You would need to re-frame this question giving your age and separating your sleeping tablet history from your ED because they are not necessarily connected. You would need to say to what extent your erectile dysfunction interferes with your ability to perform sexually and what medications if any that you have tried. Thank you and good luck.
Avatar m tn Studies have shown that over 80% of erectile dysfunction (ED) is due to physical causes. Two risk factors for ED include poor diet and smoking. Smoking depletes many nutrients and particularly mentioned are vitamin C and vitamin E. Smokers with the lowest vitamin C levels have the fastest disappearance of vitamin E (known as the "sex" vitamin). I cannot find anaemia specifically mentioned as a cause of ED however.
Avatar m tn Anxiety and stress play an important role in the development of erectile dysfunction; and is the most common possible cause. At a primary level, I would suggest being a bit relaxed and working on the psychological factors with your partner. You could also see a psychotherapist/ behavioral therapist for the same. It might also be beneficial to get rid of factors like smoking/ alcohol/ drugs, if involved.
Avatar f tn But since I think you probably want to remain anonymous or are posting for someone else, if it started after you began your other meds you need to pin down which one triggered it and switch to an alternative for it. If it was there before, you can try saw palmetto, l-canatine, or l-arginine. Also check your Vitamin D and Magnesium levels. You'll have to experiment with how much of any of them to take but most are beleived to have no interactions.
Avatar m tn I have sphincter of oddi dysfunction and biliary issues......I have never heard of this! Where did you hear about this?
Avatar f tn You could help yourself by taking L-arginine for blood flow. Pumpkin seed supplements can have a good effect.
Avatar m tn Hi, i'm 35 and I seem to have physiological erectile dysfunction. I have been under a lot of stress but my situation is now better since a few months ago. I'm having trouble getting a firm erection when masturbating that won't last long without physical stimulation. I still get erections that are firm while sleeping and waking up in the morning. I also went to see a doctor who ran blood tests and everything came out normal. My testosterone was normal too.
Avatar m tn Lack of testosterone can also decrease libido, cause erectile dysfunction, spur osteoporosis and lead to a loss of muscle tone and mass. Recent studies show that men with low levels of free testosterone are at increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease, since the important substance is not present to protect brain cells. One way it protects is by suppressing cytokines, which are immune chemicals that promote inflammation.
Avatar m tn Hi Sheba, Noy knowing him, but this may be down to the way he has masturbated all these years, I think its down to a tight grip, look keep this at the back of your mind, its a saying, what is done by the hand is remembered by the brain, now holding that thought, if hes has been using a tieght grip, when it comes to sex you down to a featherlight touch, its now this that he needs to get back to, his penis needs to be re-educated.
Avatar m tn Any diabetes? Maybe try L arginine in case it's a vascular thing? See a urologist. That's the specialist who can check everything.
Avatar f tn Some one has suggested Levo arginine(sp?) for sexual problem. Research on this drug and find out it it matches your need.
Avatar m tn Watermelon is one of the richest natural sources of L-citrulline, an amino acid that can help make your erection harder. Once it’s in the body, it converts to L-arginine, stimulating the production of nitric oxide, which increases blood flow to the penis, strengthening erections. Ginger can improve your sex life by aiding blood flow and improving artery health.
Avatar m tn ve been taking a multivitamin/B complex/vitamin c and l arginine. Working out in gym 3 times a week with cardio on weekends. My question is at my age can get my testosterone levels back again at a normal level 600 or 700. I know the only way to find out is with a blood test. Just want to know is it the end of the road for me?
20620809 tn?1504362969 Also - should have mentioned that if the prblm is kind of intermittent (i.e., not too severe & sometimes things work OK), you can try some ‘natural’ and/or herbal treatments that may help. The amino acid L-Arginine is known to dilate blood vessels & help w/ erections, L-Citrulline does the same & may be even more effective. Maca root may help, and there are other herbals that you can look up online that may have some positive effects.
Avatar m tn When I was younger and started having sex, after one particular sexual encounter (with my girlfriend) I came out with a case of Paraphimosis. And ever since then, sex, or at least the consistent erection part has been *hard for me. That instance of physical trauma has created an almost protective barrier for my penis that has become completely involuntary and for which I have no control over. With each partner is different.
