Yes, I agree that this is a great thread re: HSV1/2 experiences/treatments. I would like to add my experiences and discoveries as well, if I may. I am female and have had genital herpes for about 7 years now. I was deeply traumatized by this at first but eventually accepted this as my reality and thus got treated for it. I went to my osteopath and he prescribed 1gram Valtrex daily suppressive therapy.
I also ordered and will begin taking wheatgrass tablets and powder, royal jelly tablets, and L-Arginine to help with egg quality and to try to lower the fsh. Any advice (and especially stories of people that have achieved a pregnany with elevated fsh) would be great! Scared and I feel like I am running out of time.
All the searches I have done related to this inform me of a diet high in L-Lysine and low in L-Arginine to help treat herpes, which I do not have. I also currently use vitamin E liquid topically and have been trying to live as healthy a life style as possible (quit smoking, drinking and eating healthier).
L-Arginine to increase sperm count & quality (1000 mg a day) L-Carnitine to increase count & mobility (100mg a day) Zinc & selenium (zing 30mg a day for you both & 100mcg a day each) Saw Palmetto, supposed to be the best herb for male reproductive system.
That L-Arginine increase blood flow, raises sperm count, improves brain function, memory and helps build muscle! There's another amino acid, I think cystine? that improves the function of Arginine. I have a vitamin book that tells what they all do. Some quit being produced after 20s and 30s, so supplements will bring it back.
I had a Hep C treatment which wiped out my ovarian function, I wish I had known or the doctor had told me the side effects, because the H-C treatment was to clear the path for pregnancy. Now I am 43 and have FSH reading at 39. I am told my chance to pregnancy is around 1% and told to use donor egg. I am thinking of trying DHEA but no one out there will work with me.

My local doctors, (a GI specialist, cardio and internist) conferred and said that the GI study wasn't indicated, and sent me to a reknowned cardio who specializes in female-pattern heart disease instead. (They did scope me and test for acid reflux, both which were negative). My new cardio said that more than likely, my experience during the CCF cath was a "global" reaction to the provocation agent. He recommended a second cath and participation in the NHLB's WISE study.

The ONLY thing dh did was up his vitamin intake of selenium, zinc, and l-carnitine/l-arginine. A redo of the sperm analysis just before surprise pregnancy listed him as having very low sperm count with very bad morphology. I don't remember his numbers since it didn't matter back then. Docs said we would have to use donor or do IVF for another pregnancy. Well, in our case, I guess it did happen anyway.
I'm with Sheila on the aminos. I have dh on L-Arginine and Lysine. Both are said to increase blood flow therefore increasing quantity.

Prinzmetal's angina is treated with medications, specifically nitroglycerin. An over the counter product is L-arginine which enhances nitric oxide (NO) synthesis so this is also helpful. Pariet is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) and works by slowing or preventing the production of acid in the stomach. This drug should only be used short term as stomach acid is vital for good health. High acid is rarely the cause of reflux/GERD so in most cases an acid blocker is the incorrect treatment.
