2 days ago I suddenly devoped pain in my left index finger at the knuckle. I can touch it and its ok, but if I move it at all in any direction, it hurts pretty bad. Late yesterday it started hurting some in the knuckle where my finger joins my hand, top and bottom. Its sore feeling in that area when I touch it. A vein on the right side of the finger is bulging out some and it seems to be slightly swollen. I can bend it, it just hurts.
For about a month now, my knuckle has been hurting pretty bad to bend it or even touch it. Today I noticed some swelling. Its my middle finger on my right hand and its swollen on the side closest to my pointer finger, its even a little red. As far as I can remember, I have never injuryed it. I use to be a package handler at FedEx Ground. I loaded the tractor trailer trucks but the last three months Iwas there, which ended last month, I was on light duty.
About a month and a half ago I went to Vietnam to train for my martial arts. and I was punching the floor and hurt my middle finger's knuckle. It started to swell and I felt pain on my knuckle everytime I would barely touch it. And I've been rubbing on some asian remedy on it and it's helped a little bit with the pain, but it's still swollen pink and even though it doesn't hurt when you touch it anymore, throwing a punch at a bag or another person hurts my knuckle still.
This past week I punched my dresser and my knuckle immediately swelled up, the pain was bad at the time, but it didn't last too long. Well, yesterday I (stupidly) punched a rock wall, and it felt different, worse. It is my right index finger's knuckle (at the hand) and it is only a little swollen. However, it makes almost a grinding/squeaky sound when it bends (that you can actually hear and feel). I can move it all the way, even though it feels tender/sore.
Okay so last night I punched the wall and immediately felt horrible pains shooting through my left middle finger joint knuckle closest to my wrist and the same on the finger to its right. My hand is swollen and bruised. It hurts to move it. It hurts the most when ball a fist and write. When you touch the bone on my middle finger knuckle thing it feels as if it's crumbling and it feels very spongey.
If it doesnt get better, go get an x-ray just to make sure. Also, if you cant possibly extend your finger of the knuckle your jammed without serious pain, it might be broken. The black and blue mark will get worse as the days go by but ice it tonight really good and see what happens tomorrow. If it burns and stings real bad it might be broken.

makes noise when I try to bend it, and it is very painful. I can't use my left thumb anymore.
I had a carpal tunnel release surgery 7 years ago on both hands, but my job requires me to do a lot of gardening
work, and most of the time I don't wear hand braces/stabilizer.
Does my thumb pain come from arthritis? my carpal tunnel syndrome comes back?
Three weeks ago I noticed my left pinky was extremely sensitive and what felt like extreme nerve pain when bumping inside the knuckle area. I also noticed that from the knuckle up it sometimes felt asleep when I touched it and also felt like it was burning occasionally (not to the touch but internally) to where I had to put it in ice.
After initial swelling of my whole finger and tendon pain, I remain with a swollen knuckle and below the knuckle but the top of my finger is normal. I cannot bend it as far as my other fingers and it is painful to go past 90 degrees with it. Will it heal on its own, or is there a way to prevent permanent limitations of it?
I posted prior about pain in my knuckle starting in my left index finger knuckle. Since then, in early January of this year it transferred to the opposite knuckle. I went in to get tests done and they came back negative for RA, OA, and gout. Everything looked good on the x-rays and there was no cartilage worn down on the joints. Since I got it tested, the pain has continued to transfer to surrounding knuckles but not to the same pain level as the original left index finger knuckle.
Two days later I got another red bump on my right upper knuckle of my pinky, again it was small and tender, but did not worry about it. By Friday the original one was the size of a dime and was really red, the one on my pinky was growing. That Sunday I noticed another one on my left ring finger, in the same area, my upper knuckle. Monday (week later) I decided to go to urgent care because I thought I may just need antibiotics or something.
m a 28 year old female and I have been having swelling, stiffness and pain of my right index finger knuckle for over 2 years. It started off as a little right itchy bump on my knuckle (it kind of looked like a welt) and it felt like it was on fire. I noticed it would flare up when it would rain and there was high humidity. From there it has progressed to swelling and it is usually stiff. It has been swollen for so long now that it has started to deform my joint.
An X-ray is required to decide the course of treatment. If there is no fracture then anti-inflammatory pain killers help bring down pain and swelling. Usually simple knuckle fractures are treated by using a splint and taping the injured finger with the adjoining finger. The bump is scar tissue. The itching is the healing process. Keep it as stable as you can until the skin has completely joined/grown back. It may be sore for a few months, depending on how bad the cut is. I am a construction worker and I have these hand injuries a couple of times a year if not more.
my knuckle its self as sweld up greatly,and if i clentch my fist it looks like my middle knuckle is that of a giants. When you lay my hand out flat and touch it the skin is fuffy in spots and is kinda soft yet squishy, but when i make a fist it becomes hard as if you were touching a reguler knuckle. Im to poor to get a real medical diagnosis on it, so i hope i can get some answers here on what has happend and how to treat it.
Quick summary: I am a 17 year old girl, average weight, diagnosed with depression, social anxiety & EDNOS. Seeing a therapist, no medication.
Two things are currently worrying me. Firstly, I am worried that I am low on electrolytes which is apparently quite serious but am not sure if it is bad enough to actually do anything about it. Two obvious reasons for an electrolyte imbalance are that I exercise quite a lot and don't drink much water, also I abuse laxatives.

I never had loss of motion, pushing back on the fingertip never hurt, I can make a fist, etc. I now have a lump in that same spot, which tingles at times. It doesn't seem to be mobile--doesn't move around under the skin if I try to move it. It's still tender if bumped. It's barely visible when I look at both hands and compare pinkies; just looks like a bit of inflammation.
when i grip anything with my right hand, like scissors or any hand tool, and squeeze, i get a sharp pain in my middle knuckle, i noticed it about a year ago, it was not bad at all at first, but over the last week its become a constant. all other knuckles on both hands are fantastic otherwise,im dont recall any injury or reason why this is happening, any ideas?
