Avatar m tn I'm in the military and am suffering from right knee pain in the patellar tendon area. I have had a PRP injection in the tendon and still suffer from the pain which seems to be worse after having the injection. I have also had physical therapy which did nothing to relieve my pain.
Avatar f tn I am 19 years old and I am having my third meniscus surgery. The first meniscus surgery the doctor tried to repair it but the meniscus ended up tearing again. For the second surgery the doctor removed 30% of the medial meniscus. And now I went to another orthopedic doctor to get a second opinion and it turns out that the meniscus is torn once more in the same place.

Avatar m tn To determine if full or partial recovery is possible, several factors may need to be considered such as evaluation of the muscle, length of time elapsed, medical history, the types of surgery done, extent of damage, and over-all health. EMG and other diagnostic tests may need to be done also. Take care and best regards.
Avatar n tn Three weeks before Chiari surgery could not walk due to pain in his right foot and knee. After surgery was fine, could walk without pain. Three weeks after surgery hit a bump in the road, almost immediately right foot and knee pain could not walk again. What is new is now when tries to stand on left foot has terrible pain in the back of neck. MRI's show nothing that could relate to what is going on. Also no one can touch right knee, right foot, or any part of his back without servere pain.
Avatar n tn I have knee pain in both knees so severe that an orthopedic surgeon said I need "total knee replacement" of both knees. I must lose about 70 LBS before any surgeon will do the surgery, since recovery and physical rehab would never happen when a patient exceeds 300 pounds, I take between 120 mg and 150 mg of Roxicodone (Generic oxycodone) per day just to make my days tolerable. What is the Max Single dose and daily dose for Oxycodone?
1518151 tn?1320448947 My nine year old husky lab mix has a golf ball + sized lump on her foreleg just below knee. A biopsy was done two weeks ago with dx. of nerve sheath tumor. Vet recommends surgery to remove tumor, which may return in months to years. I don't want to cause any suffering as she has no symptoms at this point, but it did come up quite suddenly. Anybody with experience of this type of cancer? I am very fearful of surgery turning into amputation.

Avatar f tn About 7 months after my dog had a TPLO surgery to her left back leg, she started limping on the right one too... We were told that she needed TPLO surgery on that leg also. However, I have been searching online and found out that TPLO is perhaps not the only solution (even for a 80 lbs. dog...) and I believe I now found a good vet that has given us more options beside TPLO but I would need a further opinion...

Avatar f tn I am 43 years old. I had knee surgery for a torn meniscus in 2003. Last year on Thanksgiving Day I stepped off my porch and hurt my knee again. After having a mri my dr said he couldnt see anything but the pain kept getting worse and decided to scope my knee. He discovered that I had no cartlige and it was completely eaten up with arthritis among other things. I was told I needed a knee replacement but didnt want to do it at my age.

Avatar n tn Often a torn ACL is a degenerating piece of tissue, the breakdown products of which cause inflammation and scarring within and of the joint capsule of the knee. This causes pain and loss of range of motion. Surgery always involves debriding (removing) this unhealthy and useless tissue. Sometimes also, due to the abnormal motion at the knee after the ACL tears, the meniscus (cartilage cushion) in the knee is also damaged. This may also need partial debridement at surgery.
Avatar m tn My dad is bow legged and I got it from him - it its never really been a serious problem, although sometimes I get knee pain after running. There's no pain or difficulty walking; however, I don't like the way it looks and as my dad gets older I notice he has difficulty walking and severe joint pain.
Avatar f tn I was bone on bone as well on my knee. Before surgery, I had to stop and sit in-between shaving! Now, I cut some palm branches off my palm tree yesterday at about one hour of standing and today washed and worked on my car at two hours of standing. NO knee pain whatsoever! This, after 6 months. The only caveat is the doctor said he does not want more than 23 degrees bending of the knee. Naturally, I cheat a little...
Avatar f tn I also have a cyst in the back of my knee plus strained my ACL. I’d appreciate any input on the surgery if anyone has had it.
