I had surgery 9-29-08 and had a Zimmer gender specific total knee replacement. Since then I have pain around the outer edge of my left foot and across the arch of my foot. Can you give me an answer as to why this has happened and what can I do for the pain?

the Range of motion depends on the type of implant you have used.Standard implamts promise about 110 degree ROM(zimmer normal knee/depur PFC) where as there are some which give about 165 degrees ROM (zimmer high flex knee / depuy rotating platform knee). so you have to tell me , which implant you have used.
2 weeks is a pretty small time. by this time ROM should be atleast 90 degrees, no matter what implant you have used.
Is anyone here experienced an aching hips after an implanted hip replacement?

However, when I showed my right knee last month this year I was told that I need full knee replacement. The surgeon recommended Otisknee replacement procedure. Is it possible that my right knee can deteriorate in onr year to have full replacemnt as opposed to partial. What are the reports on Otisknee replacement procedure.

I had been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in the left knee and beginning in the right knee four years ago. I was told that I was bone on bone in the left knee. Since I was only 50 years old the doctor said that I was too young for surgery. Four years later, 1 less thyroid, additional weight, I have been told I am too fat and I need to get my BMI down before they would consider.
5 months ago I had bilateral knee replacement, I am having sharp pain behind my right knee. This started about one month back. It usually only happens when i am laying down, but now is happenning when I am sitting. I had a total knee replacement done over 14 weeks ago and still have quite a bit discomfort. My knee down to my ankle will swell and I get a burning sensation that will last for hours. I have been to the doctors several times and i am being told that this is normal and could last up to 1 year. I had the other knee replaced and didn't have anywhere near the pain I am having with this knee.
The anatomy of knee or knee joint configuration would have changed after the knee fusion surgery to do any sort of surgery after that. Yes I think an orthopedic surgeon experienced in knee replacement after knee fusion could possibly with difficulty could have done it.

He said that because I am relatively young (although I don't feel young most days) and have the autimmune problems, there is an increased chance that a knee replacement would not last very long for me and would have to be done at least one more time, if not several times.

This would be a difficult question to answer without the relevant clinical details. A knee replacement is not preferred in young patients as the life of a knee replacement around 10-20 years (the newer devices last longer than the older ones). Though knee replacements are usually successful and help in regaining movements around the joint conservative management is preferred due to the risk associated with the replacement surgery and a possible re-replacement surgery.
i am 53 years old. i had surgery for torn meniscus in left knee on 10/13/2007, and i have been in pain since. i am currently receiving my 3rd round of synvisc. i have had 3 or 4 cortisone injections, they seemed to be helping but the times in between have gotten shorter. my dr. keeps telling me i'm too young for knee replacement. he tells me it's arthritis, i can't believe it. i am not overweight (147 lbs.), however, before the surgery i weighed 128 lbs.
I was told by one position that I could not have a knee replacement unless they did a Fulkerson because my knee was not tracking properly. I now assume he was referring to a partial knee replacement. As I've been referred to a position for total knee replacement because the Fulkerson did not completely resolve my pain and improve my mobility.

For response actually, according to doctors there is no need to surgery bcz there is minor tissue damage, but according to me i have to rechecked by qualified orthopedic surgeon
Because whenever I bend down my knee normally there is a sound without pain, I invented one method by using this there is no sound when I bend down my knee and that is by putting little bit stress with hand on lower leg on (back side Fibula) while bending down knee, then there is no sound.
I had a knee replacement a year ago and am having pain. I was curious . . . how did they know the glue was deteriorating? Did they do an MRI? I just had and MRI and have been told it could be "mild loosening, bone stress reaction, or stress response". My Dr.'s onlt response was, if it's bad enough redo the knee replacement surgery. How long ago was your replacement surgery?
