Common Questions and Answers about Knee problems popping sound

knee

Avatar f tn I have this clicking or may I say popping sound when ever I put weight of my left knee, or even if I am laying in bed when I straighten out my leg, it seems to make this sound. It really doesn't hurt, just a little uncomfortable. If I place my hand on my knee and swing my leg forward a bit, I can actually feel the bones rubbing and clicking against each other.
Avatar m tn My left knee always pops while my right knee never pops. Also, the left knee pops about 40 times a day when i am standing. So my questions are 1. Why does only one knee pop? 2. What does all this popping mean?

Avatar f tn Hi my right knee is causing me a lot of problems as well as other unrelated things and I'm currently off work because it affects my job. I've had this since April this year but I did notice my right knee go red, hot and swollen in March. This resolved itself within a few days but I continue to have pain, locking, popping and weakness.
Avatar m tn However, My knees make a loud popping sound when I extend the leg (sitting on a chair and extending). The popping sound bothers me.When I put my hand over knee I can feel the "mechanics" of the knee. I suffer no discomfort other than when I am running. I am trying not to have the operation as I have heard some good and some about knee operations.
Avatar f tn I don't hear the popping sound but I feel them. Been feeling popping in my vaginal area but I think it's the baby pushing his way down & getting himself ready for delivery, since today marks my 38th week. :) I'm just anxious & counting the days until my body can somewhat go back to normal & I can hold my son in my arms.
Avatar m tn There is no pain after I stretch my legs or even after exercising (I run on the threadmill for around 20 mins). Also, there is the popping sound if the knee joints when I squat/fold them often. Any inputs would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn I will just be walking around and it makes a cracking/popping sound. There is not pain- just noise. It is not the ankle and it is not the knee. It is a different sound than when a joint pops. It is louder than a joint popping. It almost sounds like when a piece of wood in the fireplace pops or cracks when you light a fire. (sorry that is the only way to describe it). There is no swelling, no redness, no bruising. Even when I palpitate the area there is no pain.
Avatar m tn ve noticed that when I plant my left foot and pivot on it to turn my body to the right, my left knee makes a popping sound. For a few days I could feel something move in the same knee when I would walk down stairs. It felt like it was located to the left (outside) of the center of the knee. That went away. The right knee doesn't have any issues. There is no pain, tenderness, or swelling involved at all. Does this sound like it could be osteoarthritis?
Avatar m tn All my joints are popping for the last five months. My knee joints are the worst. Have been having few pimples on my face, scalp and back. Pimples on the face and scalp disappear and new ones appear soon. On my back there have been only 5 pimples so far which later disappeared. I went to sex workers couple of times. Once in last ""first week of Feb 2013" and again in "first week of May 2013". In Feb, I had unprotected oral(she performed on me) and protected intercourse.
Avatar f tn I just found out when I bend my knee in there is a small clicking sound. There is no pain but I can feel the click vibrating in the knee area. Should I be concerned?
4141598 tn?1353918254 my baby girl is moving like crazy, I heard this weird pop sound come from my tummy, it was so weird... And now she has the hiccups lol. I have 2 kids already & never had that happen before! Has anyone else had that happen? I'm 37 weeks 3 days.
Avatar f tn The pain is below the knee cap on the left and right side and ontop of the knee cap on the right side and on the inside of the knee from above the knee to below the knee. For the last week and a half I've been getting sharp pains on the right inside of the knee and above the knee while walking or turning from right to left. When this happens the pain is so bad that I can hardly walk. I've also been getting needle type pain below the knee cap in the center.
Avatar f tn Yes, you can injure your ACL twice. Pain, wobbly knee and cracking/popping sound can be due to ACL tears/injury, meniscal tear and injury or due to patellar injury or Chondromalacia patella in which the knee cap keeps rubbing against the underlying cartilage of femur. You may need a MRI to reach a diagnosis. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar m tn Few weeks ago I did deep squats with weights and my knee started popping and cracking. After that every step I walk into the staircase I hear loud cracking sound in me knee. So I thing it is 90% torn meniscus. Is there other solution than surgery? May physical therapy?
378497 tn?1232143585 Bio, Funny you wrote about this because I do have popping in my knee. It happens in particular with certain Tai Chi positions, but not all the time. I wrote about this in my journal about my first tai chi classes. It goes away, but tonight it was back again. My knee is not strained, dislocated or otherwsie injured but it makes this very loud "pop, pop, pop" sound much like the popcorn your described. AND everyone in class can hear my knee going off!
Avatar m tn A piece of torn cartilage may get caught between moving parts of the knee joint and causes the sound. A clicking sound may be heard when moving the knee. The pain may be worse when squatting. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn It is painless with no history of injure or discomfort in the knee, i thought it will disappear by its own in few days but it is still there 3 weeks later, it does not sound like the normal popping that most joints does, it is a loud sound that i did not hear before, any suggestions? I am hoping that it will go away by itself. I am 29 years old female and am 7 weeks postpartum.
Avatar f tn ve been hearing this really strange popping sound coming from my bump. It almost sounds like the cracking of knuckles or popping knees but slightly quieter. I'm not sure what is causing it, but it only seems to happen when my baby is moving. Should I be worried? Sorry, FTM.....
