Avatar f tn And another thing which is out of medical treatment is "YOGA" . It seems beneficial to many people and we would advice you to visit an yoga expert for further queries. (Virabhadra asana I & II or Warrior pose I & II and Trikonasana ). Take care!

Avatar m tn I am a runner and have been experiencing pain in my right knee for several years. I ran a lot in high school and then stopped for a while and have been trying to get back into it on and off for years (I am 28 now). for the last four years I have been experiencing sharp pain on the outside of my right knee starting usually after running about 3 miles. no pain when I am not running. It comes on gradually but I eventually need to stop running.
Avatar m tn Osteosrthiritis and for right knee: F/S/O Osteoarthiritis. I am a 60 yr old male having Hypertension 130/90 weighing 93 kgs. I am practising yoga under an MBBS doctors supervision who primarily provide traction using props. The doctors there have advised not to cycle at all and also not to walk unless necessary. Is this the right advice? I need to reduce my weight. Can i use the cycle? since other orthopedic doctors i consulted have suggested that i should cycle.
Avatar f tn I have had mild osteoarthritis in my right hand, of and on. Now I have knee pain, both knees, elbow pain, foot pain (orthotics (4 diff pairs) haven't helped). Not severe enough to take meds. Have been sleeping on a magnetic mat for 3 years. Doesn't seem to help. Have been going to osteopath, masseur, acupuncturist, nutritionist (treating inflammation). No real relief. Other issue (related?) is poor blood circulation (circulatory disorder). Not overweight (120lbs at 5'4.

Avatar n tn Last night, I was unable to lye on my back and witnessed excruciating pain in left thigh above the knee. When I raise my leg from lying down, the pain is unbearable. I practice this yoga 3 times a week for the past 14 years. I stayed away from the practice for 10 days and the pain appeared to have disappeared. Well not entirely. I then continued my practice only to notice my back was not healed entirely. So I stayed off the practice again.
Avatar f tn While I was pregnant I had problems with a nerve running from my lower back (left side) down my outter thigh, around my knee and down my calf! I just started walking 1-2 hours a day, three weeks ago and the pain is back again! It seems to only occur when I move certain ways.. or while lying down. I am on anti-depressants and was wondering if there was anything I could take to ease the pain... and should I stop exercising so much?? Anything? Thank youuu!
Avatar f tn I have experienced the same thing, sudden onset joint pain first in my right knee then to my left knee then to both elbows and wrists all over the course of a few days. The doctor said I was neg. for gout, rhum. arthritis or anything else. I started taking motrin 3 times a day to cope. Then I read where Yoga can relieve arthritis symtoms, so I started doing Yoga. The benefits have been stellar! Ive regained motion and dont need nearly as many pain killers as before.
Avatar m tn My dad is bow legged and I got it from him - it its never really been a serious problem, although sometimes I get knee pain after running. There's no pain or difficulty walking; however, I don't like the way it looks and as my dad gets older I notice he has difficulty walking and severe joint pain.
Avatar f tn The next day my mother tried to make me carry on as normal but only after consistently telling her how bad the pain the pain was did she take me to the hospital to get a knee brace and pain killers (the first of many). The nurses at the hospital gave me a small knee brace and refused to listen to me because the brace was supposed to be tight enough to support the knee.
Avatar f tn I first noticed the pain in my outer right knee in yoga class, and thought that maybe I was kneeling an earring or zipper. I looked down to see...nothing. It has now spread to my left knee. Like all of you, I'm experiency a sharp stabbing sudden snap of pain, ONLY when kneeling. I went to an orthopedist. He said all the x-rays looked fine, and that he'd never heard of this specific type of knee pain. He recommended Advil and not kneeling (uh, thanks, doc.
405614 tn?1329144114 I have a meniscus tear in each knee, but the damage inside contraindicates more surgery until knee replacements. I have a hip labral tear, but arthritis prevents repair. I have arthritis in both SI Joints, as well as instability in the right, which adds to pelvic instability; my pelvis rotates so that one leg is a little shorter and everything hurts worse. I would love to do Yoga again, but I don't think it will work. Maybe meditation, maybe Pilates (very gentle).
Avatar m tn Hello! It's been four months now that my right knee is slightly swollen. The swelling is visible on the knee itself and the bottom part of my quadricep. It is not much but it's visible especially when compared with my other knee. I don't feel pain, only minor discomfort which gets a bit worse and spreads to a larger area (the discomfort, not the swelling) when I stand up or sit down for too long.
Avatar f tn I injured my knee doing Yoga and playing Badminton. The MRI showed a torn cartilage, but the surgeon did not agree and thinks it is a MCL strain or sprain. He recommended a cortisone shot and PT. I had the cortisone injection. Within hours my knee swelled tremendously and I was not able to move it out of the position, nor walk, I had to use crutches and have my husband help move my leg to change position. It was tremendously painful!
Avatar f tn I have found that yoga helps with the pain left from treatment. Hang in there!
Avatar n tn OUCH! Those leg spasms are aweful. I am sorry you are having this pain. I had some in my calf/foot & the pain went all the way up my thigh. The pain in my leg lasted for 5 days. I do hope that you find relief soon - when you do - let me know your trick :) I am sure others will chime in with advice but I wanted you to know that you are not alone with this problem. Take care.
Avatar f tn Oooh, even Biggest Loser, Yoga for Weight Loss doesn't require that a knee touches the floor during a lunge.... A lunge has one leg bent with knee perpendicular to the floor, with heel directly in line with the knee and the other straight back (or a reverse lunge goes the opposite). Can you post a link to a video with the lunge you described? I'm just not picturing it in my mind.
Avatar f tn My recent OS said 10 years for TKR and I only have one chance. I've also heard other OS say 15 to 20 or longer depending. I went to a siminar on joint replacement and it scared the heebe jeebe's out of me. The OS said if a 2nd TKR on the same knee is needed that more bone will be comprismed and the patient will experience much more pain with every replacement after the first.
Avatar f tn I have arthritis in my knee and in my left foot - but think it is also now in my hip. I was taking percocet for pain but have tried to get off them as I feel I was getting addicted. Right now I am looking for advice - the bottom of my left foot hurts and aches... is there anything you can put in your shoes or on your foot to lessen the pain? It's not swollen, and I don't really want a store bought insert because then it makes it too high for my foot.
Avatar n tn I have sharp pain behind my right knee that permeates a searing burning pain up the back of my thigh. When sitting on a furniture, leaning my leg toward the left causes the pain behind the knee to increase. If I am sitting or laying and my legs are flat, when I bend my right leg while still flat (foot against my left left), the pain behind my knee intensifies and my leg feels weak.

Avatar f tn Walking short distances, standing for long periods, running, swimming, cycling, yoga poses such as warrior 2, squatting, balancing on one leg. (no knee pain during a month where I was bed ridden due to unrelated illness). WEIGHT: healthy PAIN IN OTHER AREAS OF BODY: Hips and glute med ( I have been working on hip flexibility, glute max strength and rolling hips, glutes, quads and IT band in hopes of helping my knees.
Avatar f tn This pain and weakness started half-way thru treatment, and continued on, but has gotten slowly better, due to diligent and gentle exercise. Perhaps the trouble you have getting up in the morning may also be due to depression? I feel like I have more depression, since I did the Interferon, and it hits me in the morning. I try to go out and get a cup of coffee right away, kind of a distraction method, but as the day goes on, I do feel better. I hope you start feeling better soon.
Avatar m tn I had a meniscus injury almost 2years ago a tear in left knee due to gym exercise while doing thighs exercise and from that time I was exercising my legs and their was no more pain after nearly 8 month , just yesterday I did the same movement once again and I hearted a pop in the same knee and a little pain with a bending movement in the same place after examining it by my self by pressing on the spot is it possible that the tear had happened once again ...
