knee-pain

Avatar f tn Had RK microfracture & LK OATS. Somewhat able to do things with tolerable pain level. Started back with the floor pilaties & yoga. Too much stretching I guess. I started where you are with similiar discomforts. Then started to hurt behind the knee and on the lateral side. Now...I can't stand without both knee fatique and pain, i can't walk without pain. It has ruined me! I'm walking with braces and oh boy if i have to go up or down stairs, HELP~!
Avatar n tn Do you have access to a gym? Or is this for at home exercises without any equipment?
Avatar f tn Both are recommended by the Arthritis Foundation as effective range-of-motion exercises, and both focus on slow, controlled movements. Yoga postures have variations to accommodate injuries or varying skill levels, and tai chi has been shown to reduce pain and impairment in people with knee problems. It is important to learn from a professional though, as injury can result from improper form.

Avatar n tn but no matter what your physical abilities are, you can always do yoga. There are yoga exercises for all abilities, even those who are in wheelchairs. Yep, I just, today, received a DVD of Yoga for Seniors, and some of them are in wheelchairs. Other than that, ChitChat is right - eat smaller portions, several times/day, limit the simple carbs/junk food and opt for high protein, high fiber and good fats, which tend to keep you feeling fuller longer....
Avatar f tn 77 kg is 169 lbs. That's more than you should weigh. Are you supplementing vitamin D to increase your level now? You might try yoga for exercise. It's much gentler than other exercises, so isn't as hard on your body until you no longer have pain. Check out yoga videos on YouTube for some you might like.
Avatar m tn My dad is bow legged and I got it from him - it its never really been a serious problem, although sometimes I get knee pain after running. There's no pain or difficulty walking; however, I don't like the way it looks and as my dad gets older I notice he has difficulty walking and severe joint pain.
Avatar f tn Someone please tell me where to find some good yoga exercises. I can't seem to fund any good ones. I'm 20 weeks! And would like some input on what other mommies do??
Avatar f tn Hi! I also have fibro (since May of this year) and am a Certified Personal Trainer (ironic huh?) Walking would be great for you. It is a weight bearing exercise that will help strengthen bones without breaking them down like higher impact exercises would. Start with something doable even if its just walking around the block and add on from there!
Avatar n tn I have sharp pain behind my right knee that permeates a searing burning pain up the back of my thigh. When sitting on a furniture, leaning my leg toward the left causes the pain behind the knee to increase. If I am sitting or laying and my legs are flat, when I bend my right leg while still flat (foot against my left left), the pain behind my knee intensifies and my leg feels weak.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have "calcified meniscus" on my right knee. I have constant pain on it. About a year ago, the doctor said my condition does not require surgery. In the other hand, I'm overweight (I'm 5'9" and weights 285 lbs). I need to loose weight and want to know what type of exercise I can do that do not have a worse impact on my knee.
Avatar n tn I broke my back and suffer from pain daily. My weight has alot to do with it. I am at my second heaviest at 232 and I am 5'3. Does anyone have suggestions? I have three small children and walk and play daily but I would like to do more. Running/ jogging causes muscle spasms and I am unable to do much for yoga because of the way it bends my back my break was in my t14 vertebrae and is above the small of my back below my shoulders. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Panda Try doing some of the same dances you used to do, more times/week. Or look into some yoga. Yoga is excellent for toning/firming the entire body.
Avatar f tn But I remember answering this same question before.. If you have Comcast.. go On-demand and look for the Pre-Natal Yoga workout ... it's a 15 minute workout... Helped me throughout my pregnancy... Hope This Helps...
Avatar m tn Try a new pair of shoes, and maybe a different kind than what you normally wear. (I had severe knee & hip pain, until I stopped wearing the brand of sneakers I've worn for the last 10 years!! I am in Crocs, now.) Also, try adding some mild yoga stretches into a routine, a few times a week. They don't have to be real extreme, just enough to stretch the area where it hurts. Or, continue the exercises that Physical Therapy showed you.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Those will help your back so much. Yoga also helps the core muscles and the stretching exercises may help a lot with your frozen shoulder. I tore my rotator cuff many years ago and yoga has helped me regain strength and mobility there. It's slow going but eventually you'll start to feel so much better. Good luck!
6896476 tn?1386858324 hi, what exercises can you recommend for me to lose my fat around my thighs without gaining muscles on it and achieving a thigh gap? my thighs is around 22-24 inches each leg.
Avatar f tn Walking short distances, standing for long periods, running, swimming, cycling, yoga poses such as warrior 2, squatting, balancing on one leg. (no knee pain during a month where I was bed ridden due to unrelated illness). WEIGHT: healthy PAIN IN OTHER AREAS OF BODY: Hips and glute med ( I have been working on hip flexibility, glute max strength and rolling hips, glutes, quads and IT band in hopes of helping my knees.
Avatar n tn You want to bend your right knee in front of you, try to reach your chest or even better, your face, with one knee, then extend your knee as far to the right side as possible, so it looks like it is perfectly beside your hips, and you want to try and get your knee up to your shoulder. Then do it as fast as you can! Kick your knee up and try to reach your own face, (please don't actually knee yourself in the face) then do it sideways.
Avatar m tn If you do not sit erect with back support while working, it could produce neck pain, pain on the upper abdomen, pain at mid back and lower back and testicular and groin pain, as stress is produced in these areas. Over a period, you may end up having cervical spondylosis, acid reflex, lower back ache, inguinal hernia, testicular problems and piles. All these can be avoided if you do some regular exercises to compensate for the stress created by the sitting posture.
Avatar f tn I do yoga and I just watch videos on YouTube.
1359905 tn?1277572710 No tests were done to determine if, what the doctor said was right, that I have a contusion. The pain has not lessened from the accident 7 days ago, and pain killers are not helping. Not sure what else I can or should do about this pain.
Avatar n tn How would you work on your legs and especially the knee area of fat to tone or lose?
