Avatar m tn At this point I was no sleeping 3-4 hours a night at best, some nights not at all due to the pain in my knee and shoulders. And when I did sleep it was a restless sleep. The pain in my knee was constant, I was waking up with two 'frozen' shoulders unable to even put a shirt on. My physical therapist suggested going to my regular doc and getting tested for lymes disease, so I did that and he did a bunch of blood work.

Avatar n tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. Cyst at the back of the knee is usually Baker’s cyst. This causes pain in the knee. You can consider the removal of this cyst and see if pain subsides. All the best.
Avatar n tn i have pain under both kneecaps and is painful to walk on but there is no pain when i bend either knee I have suffered no injury that would cause this and pain was in right knee first and now its both
Avatar f tn Hi-A little over one yr ago I had my right knee replaced. I hadn't been able to bend my knee for about 4 yrs before the surgery - I have osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, and degenerative bone disease - so the dr and I decided on a knee replacement. I can bend my knee now, and I've had the knee xrayed since the surgery and it looks ok. I ride a stationary bike every day for excercise. What I don't understand is why I am having SO much pain in my knee?? It's really very depressing!
Avatar n tn I do not feel any popping or grinding. Most pain is across the top of the knee cap and along the interior side of my knee. The pain is present while walking, climbing stairs and when I first stand after sitting for a long period of time. Additionally, if I stand for too long, my knee is extremely sore and stiff. The worst pain is that which wakes my in the middle of the night at least 1-2 times per week.
Avatar f tn over the last 3 weeks I have been having alot of pain to the lateral side of my left knee. Mainly when I am standing from being in a squatted position. The pain is so bad I have to hold on to something and slowly straighten up. I can walk just fine. It hurts when I bend my calf to my thigh when I am shaving. I have been taking alot of IBU and applying ice. I finally went to see the doctor and they what to do an mri...Any suggestion?
Avatar n tn I am not experiencing any pain unless I twist my knee. There is a small bulge on the outside of my knee cap. No popping noising when I bend my knee, it is hard to totally bend due to tightness from the swelling. I can put weight on it, but having to be really careful walking due to any twisting motion causing pain. Mostly I'm concerned about the one area that bulges out because there's almost no other swelling.
Avatar n tn It is still sore and a little swollen. The pain is on the top left (inside) where the quad connects to the knee (when bent it feels like the top of the bone to the inside of the knee). It hurts to bend my knee after sitting for a long period of time and sometimes need to help it bend. To straighten out the knee doesn't hurt but when I tighten my quad, it is a little sore. There is some bruising on the inner part of the quad. I am hoping it is just a bad bruise and nothing serious.
Avatar f tn It has pain on the I side mcl area and I am unable to bend it past 90° and I am unable to completely straightin it out. It feels pretty stable.

Avatar f tn Since about the age of 6 I've had issues with my knee (I'm 18 now). My knees (and other joints) have always been pretty flexible. I can bend them into weird shapes. My knees crack every time I stand up. But the real problem is with my right knee. Anywhere from 1-3 times a year my knee will pop out of place. Not sure if it's dislocating or subluxating.
Avatar f tn However from the past few months I am experiencing pain in my knee whenever I bend it. It is not a continuous pain but its like a shooting pain when I bend my leg (like in the bathroom or climbing stairs etc). I mentioned this to my Dr and she checked and said the ligaments are perfect and there is no swelling. But I want to know what this pain is if everything is perfect. I am 32 yrs old and it is getting hard for me to sit on the floor or get up. This is obviously not normal.
Avatar n tn For 2 months, I've had terrible pain behind my knee, especially when I bend it. My doctor has ordered an ultrasound to check for a Baker's Cyst - but no cyst is visible to the naked eye, nor can one be felt. Is it still possible that a cyst exists?
Avatar f tn I am 17 years old and when I was 14 I had ACL, MCL & LCL reconstructive surgery, along with a torn artery. So painful it took forever to heal. I went to physio blah blah blah then I had to get a second surgery to remove a calcium build up and remove scar tissue to help my knee bend. My surgeon said I will always have a bad knee but i didn't think it'd get this bad. It just aches and aches and it clicks when I go up stairs. And I can't bend it all the way.
Avatar f tn I have been active in outdoor sports specially football, From months im feeling stiff knee specially my left one. There is a click sound when i bend my legs more than 90 degrees and while i squat, there is no pain or swelling or anything. after one squat when i loosen my knees , there is no clicking in the next squat. I can jump, runn, bend , run , play , hop as normal but clicking sound is awkward .
1961313 tn?1326290364 I have problems with my knees, just general stiffness-but one day I had to get down on my right knee and the pain was extreme,it wasn't necessarily in the knee but to the right side of the knee,it felt like the skin was splitting into,I look and the skin looked fine,so I don't know if it's the tendon or the muscle what ever it is,is very painful,in fact I can't get down on my knees any longer
Avatar f tn It could be a ligament or cartilage problem or displacement of the knee cap or even arthritis. There are other medical conditions that can cause knee pain. Do you suffer from gout at all, is the knee inflamed and red or just painful? I would advise you see your doctor for a proper diagnosis. Your doctor may refer you for xray. I have osteoarthritis in both knees, but my right knee is the worst.
Avatar m tn - I have undergone ACL reconstruction surgery of right knee on 21st May,2010. Even after my surgery I feel pain when I bend my knee or when I walk. The pain is distributed over the entire crossection of the knee. But recently on 12th feb,2012 my right knee has started paining again. I am not able to walk. Even if I try to walk, I feel instability. My leg becomes stiff when I keep it straight for around 30 min.
655727 tn?1283296048 It does not restore the same level of function that the person had before the damage to the knee joint began. The knee will not bend as far as it did before you developed knee problems, but the surgery will allow you to stand and walk for longer periods without pain. After surgery, you may be allowed to resume activities such as golfing, riding a bike, swimming, walking for exercise, dancing etc.
