there is no definitive test for fibro - they do tests to rule out other diseases - is the pain in your knee or on the outside of the leg at your knee or the inside of the leg near your knee and have they checked for osteoarthritis - you said behind the knee - do you mean behind the patella (knee cap) or at the back of your leg behind the knee - try to be very precise when telling the doctor where exactly the pain is coming from - i dont know much about ms but i know pain comes with it - i belie
I really dont know what you meant by knee surgery? If his knee was just realigned, or his knee joint complex had been replaced, there is that tendency secondary to rest and inactivity during post-op that his quad muscles have shortened/tightened. Its still best to see a physical therapist, just bring in his past or recent xray or mri.
As for the arteries, i dont think so unless his doctor have said so. Problem with arteries are rather best to be asked from a doctor.
I am not experiencing any pain unless I twist my knee. There is a small bulge on the outside of my knee cap. No popping noising when I bend my knee, it is hard to totally bend due to tightness from the swelling. I can put weight on it, but having to be really careful walking due to any twisting motion causing pain. Mostly I'm concerned about the one area that bulges out because there's almost no other swelling.
Yes it always burning and it also feels like something is grinding, when i kneel or just bend the knee it pops and cracks. When i say "inside" its my right knee but the pain is on the left side. and yes it aches it doesnt help to keep straight or bent. i take tylenol and advil but nothing really seems to help, Its been hurting little over a month now....
I got there and the pain got worse. It is 8pm and I can not bend my knee, the pain is throbbing and I am just sitting here. It hurts for me to touch it. I have not fell or anything like that. The pain is behind the knee, top of my calf, and up my thigh. Please if you find something, please let me know.
For 2 months, I've had terrible pain behind my knee, especially when I bend it. My doctor has ordered an ultrasound to check for a Baker's Cyst - but no cyst is visible to the naked eye, nor can one be felt. Is it still possible that a cyst exists?
At this point I was no sleeping 3-4 hours a night at best, some nights not at all due to the pain in my knee and shoulders. And when I did sleep it was a restless sleep. The pain in my knee was constant, I was waking up with two 'frozen' shoulders unable to even put a shirt on. My physical therapist suggested going to my regular doc and getting tested for lymes disease, so I did that and he did a bunch of blood work.
Lateral knee pain and after walking awhile the back of knee hurts. Pain worst when bend knee or go up and down stairs. Pain always there just worst when bend it. Pain has woke me up at night if sleep with knee bent. Xray snd MRI normal so orthopedic said PT and if pain continues come back in a month. PT has me in tears. Should I get second opinion could MRI been read wrong. Help me i feel crazy and feel that the pain is in my head.
About a year ago, everytime I walked for a straight 10 - 15 minutes I would be unable to bend my knee because of the pain. However, I would slowly keep trying and after 1/2 hour to an hour it would be ok. Over the course of the year the time got longer for it taking me to be able to bend my knee again. Soon, it wouldn't take much and I couldn't bend my knee at all. I have had an x-ray where the NURSE told me I had arthritis and inflamation.
It is still sore and a little swollen. The pain is on the top left (inside) where the quad connects to the knee (when bent it feels like the top of the bone to the inside of the knee). It hurts to bend my knee after sitting for a long period of time and sometimes need to help it bend. To straighten out the knee doesn't hurt but when I tighten my quad, it is a little sore. There is some bruising on the inner part of the quad. I am hoping it is just a bad bruise and nothing serious.
I am 17 years old and when I was 14 I had ACL, MCL & LCL reconstructive surgery, along with a torn artery. So painful it took forever to heal. I went to physio blah blah blah then I had to get a second surgery to remove a calcium build up and remove scar tissue to help my knee bend. My surgeon said I will always have a bad knee but i didn't think it'd get this bad. It just aches and aches and it clicks when I go up stairs. And I can't bend it all the way.

A week ago I went to my doctor because I was having pain in my left foot,.lateral foot pain. It's been going on for about 6 weeks. It would dull ache most of the time with sudden bouts of extreme pain in which it felt like a knife was digging in my foot. He did an xray and said it wasn't broken and prescribed anti-inflammatory medication. A week later and now I can't bend my left knee back and it's hurting to put pain on my knee.
However from the past few months I am experiencing pain in my knee whenever I bend it. It is not a continuous pain but its like a shooting pain when I bend my leg (like in the bathroom or climbing stairs etc). I mentioned this to my Dr and she checked and said the ligaments are perfect and there is no swelling. But I want to know what this pain is if everything is perfect. I am 32 yrs old and it is getting hard for me to sit on the floor or get up. This is obviously not normal.
His left knee can only bend about 20 degrees before sharp pain sets in, while his right knee can bend about 60 or 70 degrees before feeling pain. He's been seeing a physio but the severe pain and limited range of motion in his left knee bothers me. His knee feels stiff and sore and he struggles to move the left leg. I'd like to hear from an orthopedic expert, are there any obvious "mistakes" that can be made during this kind of surgery?
my knee hurts when i bend it. i can still walk but it hurts. i haven't hit my leg on anything, i thought maybe it could be my new tempurpedic matress, but it is only my knee. the pain is increasing every day. any ideas?
Sounds like you may have torn your ACL. I did that and if the dr you went to has to do xrays. When mine torn and it was the right also before the surgery my knee would snap back, wabbaly alittle swollen, but get a second opinion, if it is your acl you could have torn it or completey ripped it in half.

I have undergone ACL reconstruction surgery of right knee on 21st May,2010. Even after my surgery I feel pain when I bend my knee or when I walk. The pain is distributed over the entire crossection of the knee. But recently on 12th feb,2012 my right knee has started paining again. I am not able to walk. Even if I try to walk, I feel instability. My leg becomes stiff when I keep it straight for around 30 min.
I have been active in outdoor sports specially football,
From months im feeling stiff knee specially my left one. There is a click sound when i bend my legs more than 90 degrees and while i squat, there is no pain or swelling or anything. after one squat when i loosen my knees , there is no clicking in the next squat.
I can jump, runn, bend , run , play , hop as normal but clicking sound is awkward .
