Avatar f tn Does anyone get severe pain when the weather changes? What I mean is, the weather here in Pennsylvania has been going from for instance 28 degrees to 53 degrees. The temperature is supposed to be 61 on Sunday and appears that I have a really bad time with these fluctuations. I tend to be okay (meaning in not as much pain) then in a few hours time I am in agonizing pain. I often cry because nothing stops this pain and it's just too unbearable. Last night was one of those nights.
Avatar n tn maybe it is weather changes--the arthritis one of my feet is hurting a little and i have a little pain in my fingers. we're in the midst of Idaho spring---you never know what you will have from one day to the next--or from one part of a day to the next!!
Avatar f tn Do you notice the pain and burning more before it rains? Do you think that weather changes affect your pain? I know that sounds crazy but I swear I can tell the difference!
728965 tn?1266373645 I was just cleaning up my bedroom this morning, and noticed the pain. I was nearly to tears. When I touched the back of my knee around the tendon, it hurt significantly more. It's been 6 hours with the same pain, taken all I have available to take. Now I've begun to have pain followed by a moment of tingling from the back of my knee to my feet. My foot even acts like it's asleep.
1660929 tn?1319758789 Barometric pressure definitely seems to have a major effect on my migraines. Some other systems that I sometimes have are pain in my right ankle and knee or pain throughout my left side.
Avatar n tn i have tmj in plain terms my jaw joint is worn out and hurts it goes down my neck and shoulder and the doctor says it can affect your whole body. when the weather changes i can tell my jaw starts aching. i am on celebrex it helps some. but check with your doctor.
Avatar f tn I have mild to severe pain in my left leg. Sometimes it's from my foot to my knee, sometimes from my foot to thigh. On really bad days my left hand will ache as well. It's a dull constant ache and is agitated by rainy weather/ pressure changes. I'm 23 now and I vaguely remember it when I was around age 7....it may have been before then. I'm not sure what it is as my mom never had it checked out as she has a more severe form of it.

1324871 tn?1288981706 I am also sure your PMP could treat this pain also since they are a pain dr. I know my PCP told me when I see my pain dr to talk about my knee also so I am sure he can treat that also. I am not sure if you can take the ibuprofen also it might be to much, you could call your PMP or your PCP and ask them but I know your taking alot of acetaminophen 1500mg a day which is in your lortab so ibuprofen might be to much to be taking too. I would call and ask.
Avatar f tn hello , yep the weather plays a big part in fibro, when its hot you find a cool room and when it is cold your pain ravishes you , worst bit for me is i live in england and it is nearly allways cold wet and windy!! .ooh went to cyprus and guess what my pains calmed down that much i could walk without my stick and even swam!!
643387 tn?1223529189 Hiya; I use my heating pad all the time. It really helps with my osteoarthritis pain and it does a pretty good job on the Fibro also. I have a small heating pad that I use on my replaced knee, some days that knee actually throbs, and when I am in a flare, that's when I want to just cut it off. :( This site has been a wonderful find, even tho my family understands the horrific pain I have from the Fibromyalgia it feels good to have a place to go where people really understand.
Avatar n tn vomiting along with an extremely severe headache. I was wondering if anyone knows if changes in barometric pressure with weather changes can cause an increase in intracranial pressure?
Avatar f tn The closest thing I could find is if you think of your knee joints like a door. In cold weather, it shrinks. In hot weather, it expands. I wonder if you are not having that kind of reaction with your knee joint. https://www.osgpc.com/warm-weather-joint-pain/ And while hot water therapy is common for arthritis, for some with arthritis, they find showers uncomfortable. ?? Do you think you have arthritis? For some people, they really do react to either cold or hot.
Avatar f tn Hello Bon, Welcome to the Pain Mangement forum. I am glad that you have found us. However I am sorry to heat about your knee pain. "Bad knees" run in my family and I understand how painful and debilitating knee pain can be. Has cortisone been effective for you in the past? If it has not been they usually won't repeat them. As Sandee said the general rule is 3 in a year but I have know physicians that will perform 4.
Avatar f tn Hi there. Well, I'm not totally sure what you mean it radiates to your knee. You have pain all the way down to your knee? I'd say that is unusual. I've had super uncomfortable menstrual cramps in my life as well as a cyst on my ovary that eventually passed (very painful). I did just weather through with ibuprofen. It does work well for me for relieving pain and discomfort. But if you are concerned or if the pain is super bad, then it might be wise to check in with your doctor.
Avatar f tn A good thing to do for your knee is doing some simple exercises. When your sitting down, pull your legs up and flex your thigh muscles, this will help strengthen the muscles around your knee. And also doing some water exercices, with the warm weather, it is a safer alternative than low impact aerobics and you won't even notice your exercising! We here understand the pain of arthritis, I hoped this info helped some.
545408 tn?1219873125 I have notices sometimes it is with the weather changes. But it looks kind of funny. Several trips to the dr and x-rays twice and blood work to see if anything is wrong. They did not find anything. It is off and on, only at night usually. His knees kind of look enlarged..swollen I am not sure. I do not think it is just growing pains. I need help too...I am going Friday to see if we can go to a specialist. I want to make sure it is nothing serious!
Avatar n tn i am constantly on my feet and struggle getting up from kneeling. i have pain when playing sport and when im relaxing. my knee does constantly pop and click. anyone got any ideas that would help me would be great.
Avatar f tn E/CFS does anyone find that their pain levels and exhaustion levels decreases in warmer weather and is extremely severe in winter months?
1176841 tn?1330832460 Thankfully I have Distal Polyneuropathy (a genetic disorder) in my right foot I do not feel all the pain I should be feeling. I have been told this condition is horribly painful. Now my knee on the other hand is a 13 on the pain scale of 1-10. In August I had a Cortisone shot in my right knee but it only lasted 2 weeks then the pain came back worse. Since I had to have 2 neck surgeries one in Sept. and 1 in Jan. I couldn't go back for another shot.

They did not find anything. It is off and on, only at night usually. My husband said he is walking a little funny and it looks different. Avatar m tn yes when weather changes my dizziness and nausea become much worse. Felt nauseous the last week...hate that! Also i Disequilibrium and brain fog at an all time worse...my 12 years are filled with couple months feeling good followed by a couple bad...so unpredictable Any supplement you might recommend? Dr ellenbogen is sort of following my chiari...although he is an expert he is thoroughly convinced that unless you have a 7mm or more herniation decompression is unproven.
1855076 tn?1337115303 Weather changes also affect my pain levels. I often say I'm a walking, talking barometer and can forecast the weather much better than teh high paid meterologists. My body can tell at least a couple of days in advance when the weather is about to change. I'm not sure if it's the barometric pressure that causes the increase, the change in temperature or what- I simply know that it affects me.
Avatar n tn Be certain you talk to your doc about the knee pain. While it may be related to the old injury, it may be another symptom and should be investigated. You mentioned that temps change drastically where you are located. do you find your symptoms worsen with changes in the weather?
Avatar f tn Sometimes it’s more than a dull ache. Sometimes the discomfort occurs when the weather changes (like a bad knee or something like that). Most of the time, I’m just aware the teeth are there, as in, there is at least a little bit of some kind of sensation. Most people don’t notice their teeth, if they’re healthy teeth. Every time I go to the dentist and get x-rays, I’m told they look wonderful.
