knee pain when walking up hill

I never felt anything give or pop. On Tuesday, I woke up with severe knee pain. It feels really unstable and hurts when I walk.

The other knee was about to be replaced in 2012 and an emergency came in and my OP was postponed.I took up hill walking, despite it hurt, aquafit twice a week and swimming lengths (not breaststroke!) - which my consultant had suggested before first knee OP, and my knee (despite being in a worse arthritic state than the first knee before OP!) improved - I don't have pain, or instability anymore!

Now that the weather is warmer, I have no more back pain, BUT I have problems walking. My right knee is aching, and when I start walking, my leg below the knee (shin area) aches too. Also I have a numb feeling on the bottom of my foot. When I quit walking, I have to put my leg up on a chair for a few minutes and then the pain will calm down. Also when I am driving sometimes, my right leg hurts when putting my foot on the accelerator or brake.

Its does not seems to happen when she is baring weight such as carrying our child. It does not happen walking up stairs or when she tenses or leg when she is walking. It is guaranteed to happen the first step she takes after she exercises (stationary bike).

He was walking normally in the morning and had his breakfast then we he tried to stand up and walk he felt pain in his knee and below and had to crawl. He has no fever and there is no swelling or bruise on his leg. he can bend his knee normally. We are very worried. please tell us what to do.

When i am walking and especially when I'm tired ,sometimes my leg gives way.....it feels like someone is behind me giving a tap behind my knee so that my knee gives way. I have not fallen over yet but it happens without warning . This has happened on a rare occasion in the past but since the last relapse it seems to happen on a regular basis,most days. I am scared one day i'm going to go over as it gives me a fright and wakes me up!!!

I was dating this guy for a few months, and when we finally decided to have sex, he wasn't able to get it up. Now I know that this is an embarrasing situation for the male, but what exactly could have gone wrong? He recently hurt his knee pretty badly during while playing a football, and he blamed it on the pain in his knee. But i was talking with my girlfriend, and she says it's because he was nervous. I am a 53 year old male who has been walking my whole life, lately my right knee has been locking up and I get a bad burning pain just about were my knee bends. This just came on all of a sudden about two weeks ago. It dosen't happen all the time, but when it does the pain is a hot burning type pain. It burns for awhile and I have trouble walking and then it just goes away for days at a time until it happens again. Does anyone know what it could be or what is causing this pain.

about a week the pain went away but a week or so later somehow it started up again and then the other day i had to walk up a big hill, got home and since then my knee has been severely swollen and when i go to bend it, it feels like something is grinding and a lot of pressure...is this serious or did i just pull something?

Then, the other day, I rode my bike too hard, up a steep hill, with a too short seat post, and then I sat on cement stairs for 20 minutes. When I tried to move, my knee had completely stiffened up, and I couldn't bend the knee for a few days. It is slowly getting better, but it is still painful to get up from a sitting position. I'm just wondering, has anyone had Rheumatoid Arthritis likepain, at 3 months post Tx, which eventually cleared up, hopefully?

The right one was done about 14 years ago, the left one was about 7 years ago. I have had little problem with either knee since surgery. When I got up this morning I almost fell when I put weight on my left leg. The pain in my left knee was horrible. I tried working through it thinking it was just stiff from sleeping, but it has not improved. It doesn't hurt unless I put weight on it, and then it's an excruciating sharp pain on the right side of the knee only.

I just walked up hill and my heart was pounding so hard. Even when I walk it goes up and I feel weak. And my chest feels heavy but I have had and ekg and Cray they said everything looked fine.

The other day me and my friend were rolling down a hill and she rolled over my leg. Today, I can't run, I can't walk to much, and it hurts to go up or downjust the stairs. The pain is all in my right knee. No where else. It hurts yo fully extend my leg and hurts to bend it. What could be wrong With it?

Thank you so much for your reply and your blessing also. I am 5'4 and 149lbs. so I'm not terribly overweight although I have gained about 20 lbs. in the past six months or so. This is due to having a couple of surgeries and alot less exercise. That probably contributes to the knee pain since I'm not used to being this heavy. I do have alot more pain for about four days before I start every month. Can hormones make something like this worse?

Today, I was in the backseat of a SUV for 2 hours, then sat in a conference for an hour. I stood up, instantly got excruciating pain in my knee and sat back down. A few minutes later, I fainted. I came too fairly quickly, the pain gradually went away and now is fine. Today it hurt worse than when I did it. What can be causing this? Could I have torn something and it never healed correctly? What can I do?

Hello first of thanks for the help this site rocks :) So i have been having some really bad knee pain for about 3 years i just had a baby and it hurts so bad when I'm carrying him up and down our stairs. he is only 4 months old, but it fills like my legs are going to buckle from underneath me. they usually always hurt but more when I'm walking up and down the stairs. at night i drench my knees in icy hot.

Well I still feel that my walking is off, I was really hoping this would go away. And I now have a feeling like I have an invisible wedge like thing stuck to the bottom of my left foot. I think it may be the muscle on the bottom of my foot cramping and staying cramped, but I'm not sure because there is very little pain. I also feel the slightest bit of pain on the top of my foot right where the top of the foot and the front of the ankle meet. It feels like I've strained something.

Pain in the back of knee when walking up and down steps. Also buckling and giving in while walking at times. I am a competitive gymnasts. The pain is right where you bend your knee in the back What could this be?
