I ripped most of mine during a martial arts fight 8 years ago, and had to give the sport up as my
knee could no longer cope with the
twisting actions and bearing all my weight on one
leg (kind of essential for a kick, lol). I still feel a warning pain if I do certain activities, nearly a decade later, so I steer clear of those. I couldn't afford more than the initial consultation fee, so I never got advice on how to build it all back up again, but I wish I'd have known.
