Avatar m tn t swollen like in other cases and i do not feel pain when i pinch the tendon from both sides, the pain is actually in the bone where the tendon is attached. The doctor sent me to physiotherapy, i did mostly shockwave therapy and wore orthotics but it didn’t really help, the pain was still there though that I didn’t feel it over all the day, but only at some point of time in the day.

Avatar f tn I get unbelievable pain from my knee down to my ankles when I jog. After about 40 minutes that pain is some what tolerable and I can jog for 4-5 minutes straight. For the rest of my day my ankles are sore. Does anybody have any idea what this is?
1470596 tn?1286713970 I had this problem and realised thanks to my physio, that I overpronated when running. This can cause knee problems which is why I needed to buy shoes with arch support which stops the foot rolling inwards. For walking you can buy orthotic insoles but I would not recommend running with these. I use Adistar Salvations to run. A good running shop will check you for pronation before you buy. Also this might seem obvious but are you stretching before and after running.
Avatar m tn ve been running with no knee pain. I run on the dirt/grass, where others run on the hard cement. Time after again they would get knee injuries. I quit running in races because I could feel the difference in the hard surface on my legs running verus the dirt/grass. If it was me, since I love running, I would stay off the hard cement. Our joints aren't made for that hard pounding.
Avatar n tn I run alot. And when I run I get this sharp pain in my left knee, it kinda feels like It needs to crack, but it never does. Then when I put alot of weight onto my left leg my knee will start to hurt again. Is this serious? Or should I jus ignore it for now?

Avatar f tn My knee is stiff and painful today underneath the knee cap where the pes anserine tendon inserts and to the inside of the knee cap (medially). I also have pain in the middle of the back of the knee, is especially sharp if I push into it. In terms of comfort and daily activities, I am having no trouble walking except that my knee will get a little swollen (very slight) and stiff if I walk a lot.
Avatar m tn I was putting in padded flooring in my home gym for about 4 hours. Since then I've had pain in my right knee only when kneeling on my right knee (like when tying shoes). It's to the side of the knee and feels like something is being stretched laterally at first, before I get a sharp pain that feels like it's stinging/tingly. It is not completely on the side of my knee, but in the softer area to the side of my knee cap.
Avatar n tn Do you have any instep problems?? My foot rolls out when I walk and this was giving me problems in my knee when I walked. I went to a 'propper' athletics shoe store and actually spoke to someone who knew the ins and outs of all the shoes. They fited me with a pair of joggers that counteracted my rolling out and I immediatly noticed the difference in my knee while walking.
Avatar n tn It started out of no where and ever since, if I go on a run for longer than .75 mile, I get the same sharp pain again. If I continue running with the pain, I'll feel it in the same spot for the next 24-48 hours, especially when going downstairs/upstairs and of course when running. I've stopped running for a long time in hopes this would solve the issue, but after going for a run again recently it came right back.

It continues to be very painful during practice. I can feel rubbing and clicking in my knee when I walk. What is wrong with my knee? Should I still be playing basketball or will it make it worse?
Avatar f tn I have been running 3 miles a day fro 3x a week, until recently because i have been experiencing really aching pain in my knee and if i keep running it becomes really painful like i have torn something, and sometimes my knee gives way too, if i stop running and walk the pain wears off for a while, i have had an 6-8 week rest, but it still hurts when i try to bend my knee, it pulls really tight and hurts, haven`t tried running fully yet, sometimes the knee hurts really bad , it hurts in the back

I got away from running 10 weeks ago because I was experiencing this type of thing happening. I am 54 years of age and been running off and on in my life . I wanted to run the Montreal Marathon but trained too late and pushed it to 10 miles a day from 2 months training. Right now I am running only two miles.Never had this two years ago but got it when I started back running. Let me know what you think.
Avatar m tn 30, with my gf and my knee got super tight and after another step a SHARP pain shot through it and I nearly fell. We had only gone about 4 miles and had warmed up properly and stretched, the weather was warm so I wasn't cold or tight when it happened. I have seen my medical department and they suspected ITB or Meniscus problems. However after about 2 months of aggressive icing, stretching, and physical therapy I can now run LESS and less before the pain comes back.

Avatar f tn When sitting, sometimes my knee area aches and I have to extend it and put it up on a chair. But it is much better when sitting down. I have no pain from the hip down to the knee. It is the knee and the anterior part of my lower leg. Also I feel tingling in the heel of my foot. I do not have cold or blue toes...either... When I had my herniated disc L5/S1, the pain was sciatic and went down the whole BACK side of my leg.
Avatar f tn I am 21 and i am not the fittest person ever, but i am not awful, i have recently started running again (as the weather is nicer) and i have found that after a shorter and shorter length i time i start to get a stabbing pain in the right side abdomen area, once i stop running then the pain stops but as soon as i start again it comes back. I am easing myself back into running quite slowing i don't run too fast but the pain is really starting to get annoying.

I did the anti inflammatories, icing, rest, return to running slowly... etc. The pain persisted. The pain hurts when I run for longer than 5 minutes and hurts the duration of the run, and continues hurting the whole day. I had a bone scan and MRI done.

It comes on gradually but I eventually need to stop running. The pain is located in the vicinity of the lateral meniscus and is most intense when my foot is off the ground and my leg moving forward. I struggle with pretty bad joint pain in my knees, ankles, and hips from running, and also wrist pain regularly also. I have resigned that I will just have this pain and need to manage it with ibuprofen. In the last three months I have however been having a new more severe pain in my left knee. It hurts pretty much constantly, but worse during physical activity, and hurts like a bruise when pushed on.

I didn't think anything of it that day, and it never bruised or swelled. I laid off the knee for the remainder of the week, but when i started lifting the next week, anything that put stress on the knee hurt.
