Avatar f tn Does anyone know a way to ease hip pain at night in the third trimester? I sleep with a pillow between the knees, knee to ankle and have tried two pillows. This isn't enough. This is a recent development so haven't figured it out yet.
Avatar m tn I have had this weird feeling in my knees and also some popping but only when i bend it, if i sit for more than two minutes my knee gets tight, sort of like my knuckles before i crack them, i am overweight but my knees don't hurt when i walk just when i sit or have to bend them at all also if i sit for a longer time and feel the need to stretch my legs out i feel as though my whole kneecap is rotating with my leg it's hard to explain but its as if i can feel my bones moving and grinding

Avatar n tn I tripped and fell the other day and landed on my knees again! I'm in my mid-50's and have been doing TRX for over 90 days. My knees bruised slightly but the back my legs behind my knee is causing me to have pain; it feels like the vein is sore and the left is slightly swollen. I iced it before my last TRX class and it felt so much better but I wonder if I should continue with my exercise? Is there something that I can do to make it better?
1961313 tn?1326290364 Hi! Pain on either sides of the knee is usually related to meniscal tears, injuries to the collateral ligaments, and even to arthritis. So on medial side it will be due to medial meniscal tear. It can also be tendinitis due to inflammation of tendon at the knee joint. You will need X-rays and MRIs of the knee to find the exact. Treatment will follow correct diagnosis. Do consult an orthopedic specialist at the earliest.
Avatar f tn That happened to me early on. My knees flared and hurt when I went running. I never had knee problems. Now I can jog and my knees feel ok, but not at 100%.
Avatar n tn It never itched again and then a week later another red bumpy area appeared on my right knee with many red bumps down my knee. I had several clusters of red dots on my arm. None of them every hurt me or itched. I saw a dermatoligist and a regular doctor 10 days into it, but they weren't concerned it was hurpes. I am very paranoid that is why I didn't have sex with a women who I know was promiscious but I was intimate with her. Could I have received herpes through her viral shedding?

Avatar f tn My first knee replacement was in 2002. Second one was in 2003 (on the other knee). For a number of years now I have had pain in my "knees". Even the tissue surrounding them. I've noticed that I can hear the prosthesis move when I move my leg. I swing my legs and they make a funny noise. Today I went to an orthopaedic surgeon about another (unrelated) problem and asked him about the pain in my knees.
1470596 tn?1286713970 I have recently begun to run (within the past 2 mos) and on some days, my knees feel so tight and swollen and sore to walk on. This is brand new to me.. I do not generally run on pavement and I have cut down on distance to help my knees "get used to running".... Is there any over the counter rx I can take to help with knee health?
1308443 tn?1302693321 I too have a bit of a knee problem but I want to know, when you stand and your knees are facing forward, are your feet forward as well or are they pointed somewhere else? Cuz my feet go out and that's the problem. I suggest to not do sports with a lot of running. Swimming is a good one. I heard your pain. But you can't stop walking from class to class. For a few tips, stay hydrated, stretch atleast once a day (suppose to do it twice) and keep your muscle strong.
Avatar n tn I am a 44 year old female and I am having a throbbing knee problem. Both knees, radiates from knee up to lower back and sometimes down shins. The pain is not sharp, but a constant dull ache. I describe it like striking a tuning fork... the pain starts in my knees and then radiates out to the other areas. I do get sciatic nerve problems sometimes too. The pain keeps me up at night.
Avatar n tn It occurs when I go down stairs; bend my knees to jump, and thrust forward on a bike. The doc said the tendons, or ligaments (I can't remember which) are too weak (due to the fact that my knee are still growing) to keep the knee cap from sliding over to far and causing inflammation and swelling in the knee. So, it would be great if someone knows what is wrong and what it is called. Thanks.
Avatar n tn Take pain relief as directed on the packet and apply a cold pack to both knees. Try and keep the legs elevated. Make an appointment with your doctor so that he can refer you for xrays to see what is going on. It may be that the doctor will be able to see if you have fluid build up on the knees and this may need to be drained. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn Hi there! Well, without an evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of the knee pain. Possibilities that may need to be considered include patellar dislocation, chondromalacia patellae, infections/ inflammations, arthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, cyst formation, iliotibial band syndrome, osgood schlatter disease, bone growths/ tumours, nerve impingement/ compression, fractures, injuries to the internal knee ligaments/ menisci etc; just to name a few.
Avatar n tn Hello Tttyner, welcome to the pain management Forum of Medhelp. I am sorry to hear about your knee pain. "Bad" knees runs heavy in my family. I know how painful they can be. I have been lucky enough to avoid them. There are so many different reasons that could be the cause of your knee pain. Arthritis, Ligament issues, Cartilage or Meniscus tears, Chondromalacia Patella (knee cap) Bursitis and the list goes on.
Avatar f tn While weight gain does put extra pressure on your knees especially and can cause pain this seems more than pregnancy related pain. Bruising could be a sign of anemia but it would usually occur in more than just your knee area. Maybe see your OB first than if needed they can refer you to a specialist.
