Avatar m tn t anything specific that I did to my knee but from then till now I have had a lot of problems, it hurts to run and even walk sometimes, its also uncomfortable most nights to sleep and to drive amongst other day to day things, kicking my leg out and locking it out hurts a lot whether it is to something like kicking a football or nothing and also when I push off to jump. its feels like the pain is coming from behind the kneecap.
Avatar f tn My son destroyed an ACL playing football -- he lives a normal life without one, but uses an orthopaedic knee brace when he runs or plays sports.
Avatar m tn It hurts the most when I walk up stairs or walk in general. When playing football i dont feel any pain what so ever because my mind is focused on the game. I am a Defensive linemen and i am 6'5" 290 lbs if that helps. There is no bruising or swelling. Please help me!
Avatar n tn Hello all. I was playing football Sunday and although I didn't experience any injury while playing, I felt tightness later that night. I always stretch before and after. The next morning when I woke up I noticed some clicking behind my knee right above my calf. It's right in the center. Now a few days later, I'm feeling a lot of calf numbness and tingling. It's been tough falling asleep because of this. I've had previous problems with this leg before...

Avatar m tn I have been having knee pain for about 1 and a half months now and the doctor's said it's nothing with my bones. I still haven't had an MRI yet and my football coach thinks it's one of three things: Osgood-Schlatter's disease my growth plate is fractured. I forget the third one though. Right under my knee cap hurts when I do too much exercise. It almost feels like there is also a pressure in my knee. Can anybody tell me what they think is going on and if my coach is right?
Avatar m tn Hi, I was hoping you could assist with the following problem, Following a fall in football, landing on the right side of my left knee, I experienced immense pain and heat across the knee. Immediately after bruising spread up and down my leg and a fluid filled sac developed on the top right side of my knee cap. I visited the doctor and initial was assessed by the two nurses who said they didn't know what it was and asked me to come back to see the doctor.
Avatar n tn During the arthroscopy the surgeon shaved off the remaining stump, which had been lodged in the joint and locked it in a bent position. Also the back of the knee cap had to be shaved as there was also damage to that. I have been doing lots of physiotherapy exercises given this last week to get the knee bending. At present I can only manage 50 degrees of bend, which isn't easy. It feels like it will never go any further.
Avatar m tn Hello, thanks for responding the pain has not gone away and it has been almost three weeks, the area of the pain feels to be a little under my knee cap in front and slightly moving to the left side of the knee cap area. When I bend it and try to put weight the pain is a instant sharp shooting pain and it looks a tiny bit puffy on the left side of the knee cap but I put ice and it don't go down. Had xrays done and I was told by ER dont look bad, should I not listen and get a MRI?
Avatar f tn on the 24th of December 2016, i went to play football so i overstretched my leg high up to bring the ball down, after which i had a sharp pain on my knee. i went to the hospital and an xray was performed . doctors report was 1. the intercondylar eminences are spiked 2. ostophyte is seen on the inferior border of the patella 3. bones are well mineralised. i went for another xray 5weeks after and the result was 1. intercondylar eminences are spiked 2.
Avatar m tn About a month ago I was playing foot ball for my high school knee and upon trying to make a tackle I fell on the inside of my right knee. This was very painful and was hard to deal with the first day. My knee hurt all the time and was numb. I was evaluated by our school trainer, and she said there was no tearing of ACL or MCL. My concern is that at some points it still hurts like an immense burning pain. I don't get a lot of pain, but his is terrible.
Avatar f tn I’ve rested my knee and it’s not healed I still get pain and aches with resting it in a bent position in the centre of the knee, I also get pain when doing explosive movement and small things like running up the stairs. I’ve been to see a physio and he seems to think I have bursitis, he has given me exercises and I’ve been stretching my muscles and rolling out but it doesn’t seem to be improving. Any tips or anyone suffered from this that could share how they recovered.

Avatar m tn I am a 20 year old male. A year back, i was injured in a football match in which the part of my left leg below the knee got twisted. The doctor gave me medicines for tissue repair. I had an MRI done two days back and the report says 1.Minimal intra articular fluid in the lateral compartment. 2.Rupture of ACL at the femoral attachment, likely posttraumatic. Anterior tibial subluxation. I want to know What exactly has happened? What is the treatment? and can Surgery be avoided?
Avatar n tn I used to go to the limit when it came to pushing my body when I was younger (16-22), and now at 25 I am starting to feel it. I feel it due to powerliftingin my right knee and lower back (deadlifts especially), and football/baseball, throwing shoulder.

2115734 tn?1334546847 For X number of months (where X can be 3, or 4, or 5 or maybe even 6), I have no physical pain in the RIGHT knee. When OA (osteoarthritis) physical pain starts under the kneecap of the RIGHT knee, I do quad sets for Y number of consecutive days (where Y can be 4, or 5, or 6 or 7 consecutive days) and the physical pain ends again for X number of months. I'd like to swim but know that with no external support around the RIGHT knee there's physical pain while swimming.
Avatar f tn After surgery his knee looked like a football was in it for weeks and his foot is swollen also. He has constant pain. Had tests for infection, blood clots, which were negeative. Has be doing PT, but still cannot walk with a cane. Said it feels like his knee is going to give out. Is now on anti-inflammatory and swelling is going down. Doctors say "everyone is differant and it takes time to heal". They are talking about doing Manipulation if he does not improve.
Avatar f tn The first night experiancing this it hurt extremely bad especially the electric phase and when i bring my knee to my body. Any info/advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I have yet to consult a doctor in person due to my fear of asking my parents for anything especially medical (grand huh) unless I get some dis concerning reports I will not see a doctor.
Avatar m tn But, as I tried last week to increase my jogging to running and kicking a football, I get the same pain in my left lower back/buttock. The pain comes when I try to do serious impact movements. I have realised how much this is all connected to the broken leg and weak ankle, but I am now lost as to what to do. I would like to not accept this as how I shall be for the rest of my life, but I am starting to wonder.
