Avatar f tn I'm 18+3, and I REALLY need to start exercising. I'm hoping it will help my horrible back pain. What are some good exercises to do while pregnant? I don't want to overwork myself.
Avatar n tn Sometimes during or after the exercise, I feel something on the upper part of my knee when I put my weight on that knee. It's not on my kneecap specifically, I'm not sure if it's my quadriceps either, but it's somewhere in between those. I can't describe it as pain, I can't even call it a discomfort. It's really very mild, I'm not sure if this is normal and has been happening to me before as well, but I only noticed it now.
Avatar f tn I am a veteran when it comes to knee problems. Torn meniscus cartilage, 2 knee scopes (arthroscopic surgeries), and finally a total knee replacement. If your knee is swelling, especially in the morning after sleeping, it may be a torn meniscus cartilage. The older we get, the more brittle our cartilage becomes and the more prone it is to damage from impact, etc... I have had lots of injuries over the years but the knee had the worst pain of all.
Avatar m tn I was putting in padded flooring in my home gym for about 4 hours. Since then I've had pain in my right knee only when kneeling on my right knee (like when tying shoes). It's to the side of the knee and feels like something is being stretched laterally at first, before I get a sharp pain that feels like it's stinging/tingly. It is not completely on the side of my knee, but in the softer area to the side of my knee cap.
Avatar f tn A good thing to do for your knee is doing some simple exercises. When your sitting down, pull your legs up and flex your thigh muscles, this will help strengthen the muscles around your knee. And also doing some water exercices, with the warm weather, it is a safer alternative than low impact aerobics and you won't even notice your exercising! We here understand the pain of arthritis, I hoped this info helped some.
Avatar m tn If it is just occasionally popping with no pain, it could be nothing and some exercise like knee bends could strengthen your knee. On the other hand, it is painful too especially with swelling you may want to see a doc. If your knee is making a grinding noise for example it could mean that the cartilage is wearing down. Especially if this continues to bother you check with your pcp or an orthopedic specialist before exercising or anything!
Avatar f tn Well I went about still exercising and then I developed a small rash, then my knee pain intensified. I thought arthritis because I felt the pain deep inside my knee. I saw a doctor who did an xray and it came back normal so I thought I was out of the woods. I still exercised but very slowely but for a half an hour everyday. Well I had a knee follow up appointment with my regular physician who told me to stay off my knee for two weeks.
Avatar m tn I had a meniscus injury almost 2years ago a tear in left knee due to gym exercise while doing thighs exercise and from that time I was exercising my legs and their was no more pain after nearly 8 month , just yesterday I did the same movement once again and I hearted a pop in the same knee and a little pain with a bending movement in the same place after examining it by my self by pressing on the spot is it possible that the tear had happened once again ...
Avatar m tn I have had sex in Western Europe with sex workers but always with condomns on Recently i am experiencing pain in knee and wrist with no other symptoms , Earlier i was regularly exercising but now i have stopped , is it possible that the pains could be because of these problems
Avatar n tn I can hardly stand to bend my knees..like when I sit down..they do hurt some even when I am standing or sitting, but not as bad as when i start to sit down. I have had 2 back surgeries..the last in 2004. I have gained about 30 pounds in the last year. I have never had knee problems, and am wondering if it could be coming from my back .
Avatar f tn I wear orthotics in my cross trainers for exercising (I have low arches, that were causing knee pain). I wore them for about a year, and then I stopped exercising for about a year. I started exercising again, and at first the orthotics felt ok, the arch felt a little high, but after some jumping exercising I did one day, my ankles hurt. I'm not heavy, and I'm only 35. The pain is in the inner part of the ankles, toward the Achilles tendon.
Avatar n tn I recently have started experiencing pain in both my knees, but as far as I can tell I haven't injured them in any way. Over the past couple of months I've had several bouts where my knees will begin to hurt and feel very stiff, sore, and a little unstable. At first I thought it may have been because I was overdoing it with the stairs at work, or carrying too much weight so I stopped using the stairs and bought a briefcase on wheels to use instead.
Avatar m tn One of the reasons I started weightlifting was so I could try to fix these imbalances. Foam rolling and wearing a knee sleeve helps me a lot when lifting heavy weights, as it makes me feel almost no pain even when doing, for example, squats or similar exercises. In the last week or so, I noticed that my left knee got a bit swollen. It feels tender to touch, as if it's filled with a liquid.
Avatar m tn But recently I am facing that my knee joint is paining and feeling some noise form last year when I walk or stand for some while. But I do not lift heavy weight things or carry. I have visited number of doctors but all of them suggested calcium 500 mg once or twice daily for 2 to 3 months, but Still I have the problem and found or felt no improvement. I don't know what to do. I am a teacher, so I have to stand before white board to take classes for 2 or 3 hours daily.
Avatar f tn My left hip was replaced 6 months ago and my recovery was going great until 2 weeks ago. While walking I got a pain on the outside of my left knee. The pain comes and go, only occurs when I walk and can be felt anywhere on the outside of my leg from the butox to the shin. It also hurts when I stand from sitting and take the first steps. Until this happened I had completed my physical therapy and had a started participating in an exercise class.
Avatar f tn Had RK microfracture & LK OATS. Somewhat able to do things with tolerable pain level. Started back with the floor pilaties & yoga. Too much stretching I guess. I started where you are with similiar discomforts. Then started to hurt behind the knee and on the lateral side. Now...I can't stand without both knee fatique and pain, i can't walk without pain. It has ruined me! I'm walking with braces and oh boy if i have to go up or down stairs, HELP~!
Avatar f tn I developed frontal thigh pain in both legs after I had a knee replacement in the right knee. I have had an EMG and it showed that the pain was not coming from my spine. The pain is relieved when I am sitting but upon standing or walking, the pain is so severe that I cannot walk. I am only 62 years old and too young to be wheel chair bound. I take meds for fibromyalgia without success and strong pain relievers are not effective.
Avatar f tn Older woman here, developed knee pain 2 months ago. It thankfully went away, but then about a week ago started hurting again, this time in different location, just to the left and medial of my knee cap. Every step is excruciating, only way to describe it. Guess I have meniscus tear? But has anyone experienced this type of horrible pain with Every Step? If so did you find a remedy?
Avatar f tn I just started walking 1-2 hours a day, three weeks ago and the pain is back again! It seems to only occur when I move certain ways.. or while lying down. I am on anti-depressants and was wondering if there was anything I could take to ease the pain... and should I stop exercising so much?? Anything? Thank youuu!
1900462 tn?1352775302 They gave me a brace thing when I was pregnant the first time but my bump was too big to be comfortable wearing it and it was hard to sit down. I just have to be careful with myself and try not to let myself overstretch. It goes back to normal pretty quickly after delivery.
Avatar n tn (Not center chest, but left side mostly.) When the pain starts, it is much worse when I try to inhale. It is relieved when I slow down or stop - but not immediately. I have had a test (forgot the name) 2 years ago and Dr. said I have tricuspid regurg, but this should not be causing the pain. She said all things looked clear but to check it again in a year. The pain is predictable. When I exercise and get my heart rate up this pain grips my chest and I can hardly catch my breath.
Avatar n tn t think the dr/ read the part about insurance so i will say that the key when exercising (especially if new or if you are a little too over-zealous ) is if there is pain when doing it or if it causes ongoing pain after is to STOP doing it for a while and then start up again slowly. No pain no gain is huge BS--- a lot of people pay money and then try to get their money's worth by overdoing it. Ok nancy--0-gentle stretches---hot tub----be nice to your body.
Avatar f tn There is no pain at all when I exercised on it today. It seems the only pain I have is when I walk because I straighten my knee. when I use the bike my knee never straightens completely, perhaps that is why it does not hurt?
Avatar n tn I had LEFT knee arthroscopy for torn meniscus . the doctor says I have arthritis behind the front of the knee and he repaired the torn tendons, and said after recovery he would treat the arthritis in the office. I started physical therapy two and a half weeks ago, but now I have developed a pain on the outside of the RIGHT buttock or hip..
Avatar n tn Calf pain seemed no worse at first, but I was noticing that plantar faciatis and muscles just North of my right knee were tight when I woke up. Also, I did some boating. All the wear I got on the calf caused it this Thursday to be worse than ever when I woke up.. I went to Dr Thursday August 4 to make sure I did not have a clot. Dr saw no clot and said I had Strained the calf and it needed time to heal up. 5. Friday I went to Y to sit in whirlpool and swim.
