Avatar f tn Electric shock under the knee cap definitely seems to be something a lot of people suffer! There are epic threads here on medhelp that I've read over the years with ideas about this. Avatar m tn Is the pain under your knee cap or tendon? From what you are saying it sounds like your saying under your knee cap. You could have patellofemoral syndrome; very common for cyclists (read your bio). Try this website. http://www.med.umich.edu/1libr/sma/sma_patellod_sma.
Avatar f tn I twisted my knee and when it happen I heard and felt a pop on the inside of my knee. Also, now when I walk, I have pain and crackling on the outside, under the knee. When I am walking and I have to turn or piviot, I get a pain that runs the inside of my knee. And now I can just be standing there and my knee feels like it is really loose and feels like I hyperextended in, the knee pushes back. How ling should I wait to go to the doctor or should I continue to try and heal it myself.
Avatar n tn Thank you doc i have the same pain in my left knee only
Avatar f tn I recently had an MRI of my left knee due to pain. I have the results of the MRI but I don't have an appointment until the 29th of April. Chondromalacia patella and chondral thinning along the medial femoral condyle. I was wondering if anyone might know what this result means. I can't get a sooner appointment and I'm really wanting to know what's causing my pain. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I think you are being wise to follow up with your knee pain. Often the earlier a condition is caught the better the outcome.
Avatar f tn I just had another MRI today and show the tear was still the but the doctor said that normal to still show the tear after being fix.
Avatar f tn He did an ultrasound and drew off some more fluid and gave him another cortizone shot. The first doctor drew the fluid from under his knee and the second drew it from his knee cap. It has been several weeks now and his pain is back he still has a little swelling but now both his knees hurt. He wears a brace on both his knees now. He has trouble getting up if he has to get down on the ground for something. We are not sure what to do now because both doctors has told him all his test look fine.
Avatar f tn you feel pain at the side and in center of knee, the swelling increases day by day, limit your tendency to bend the knee, you may feel sharp pain while bending your knee and walking. The pain come and go anytime and anywhere. 3. Extreme tears: the pain moves in joint space, you must feel you are unable to straighten your knee and pain get worst. your knee become frail, swell and stiff. The pain lasts for a long time. If you have any of these symptoms, contact to a Orthopedist.
1850203 tn?1325253608 This is caused by fluid built up under pressure within the knee cavity in response to an inflammatory problem within the knee. Usually no treatment is given if there are no symptoms. If anti-inflammatory medications are not able to take care of the pain, then draining the fluid is an option. Often corticosteroid injections are given at the same time. Patients remain symptoms free for varying periods of time ranging from few days to year or more.
Avatar n tn I am 15 and about a week and a half ago i was just messing around jumping off stuff like ledges and stuff, near the end of the day this spot near the beginning of the tibia under my knee started aching.

Avatar m tn Hello, thanks for responding the pain has not gone away and it has been almost three weeks, the area of the pain feels to be a little under my knee cap in front and slightly moving to the left side of the knee cap area. When I bend it and try to put weight the pain is a instant sharp shooting pain and it looks a tiny bit puffy on the left side of the knee cap but I put ice and it don't go down. Had xrays done and I was told by ER dont look bad, should I not listen and get a MRI?
Avatar m tn Yes it always burning and it also feels like something is grinding, when i kneel or just bend the knee it pops and cracks. When i say "inside" its my right knee but the pain is on the left side. and yes it aches it doesnt help to keep straight or bent. i take tylenol and advil but nothing really seems to help, Its been hurting little over a month now....
Avatar n tn At one point I felt something (like a pulling just under the knee to the top of the knee. That no longer hurts.. The burning, hurting, sensitive sensation with like a tiny balloon filled with water from mid knee up has been bothering me for like 4 weeks now. Two days after the initial fall it got injured again when I was pushed into a bus landing on same knee because people can't wait until there turn. So this second injury only made matters worse.
390645 tn?1233368437 I experience foot pain pretty constantly and have struggled to find shoes that would help me alleviate the pain. Well, i have to say that I have found them. They fit well. They have reduced my heel pain as well as my fasciitis symptoms. I can walk much easier and longer now . So happy I got these shoes! orthofeet do the job!
Avatar m tn I laid off the knee for the remainder of the week, but when i started lifting the next week, anything that put stress on the knee hurt. Squats, Legpress, Deadlifts, they all hurt right at the middle of the knee behind the patella. It also hurts when I try to jog and occasionally go down stairs. I saw an athletic trainer and he believes that it may be a bruised femure.
Avatar f tn My first knee replacement was in 2002. Second one was in 2003 (on the other knee). For a number of years now I have had pain in my "knees". Even the tissue surrounding them. I've noticed that I can hear the prosthesis move when I move my leg. I swing my legs and they make a funny noise. Today I went to an orthopaedic surgeon about another (unrelated) problem and asked him about the pain in my knees.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Physical exam of the knee is a big part of diagnosis, so unfortunately I won't be able to give you a definitive answer as to what is going on. From what you tell me though, I certainly think that further testing is warranted, since your pain seems to be relatively severe. It is possible that you are having a flare of arthritis, but it could also be something like a meniscal tear.
Avatar f tn I was told that I have patella feminel pain, I am use to having trouble kneeling and walking after a shift at work and and my knee being weak and the knee cap moving around, but lately even when I am not doing anything it feels as though something is push up on my knee cap, and extremely painful and I cant get the pain to go away. At time it feels as though something is being wedged under my knee cap.
Avatar n tn I went to the doctor and he diagnosed me but I lost the paper. So I do not know what is called. The pain is under both sides of my knee cap. It occurs when I go down stairs; bend my knees to jump, and thrust forward on a bike. The doc said the tendons, or ligaments (I can't remember which) are too weak (due to the fact that my knee are still growing) to keep the knee cap from sliding over to far and causing inflammation and swelling in the knee.
Avatar n tn When I lay on my right side , bend my knee 45% and try to lift it straight up , severe pain on the outside of the knee. Absolutely can not lift it. I told the doctor this after one month, he just said it ould get better with time. 13 months later no difference same intense pain. Knee bends 90% and works fine except when I try tp privot inward to the right. If I walk up stairs and turn the knee inward at the same time it will collapse under me in pain.
Avatar f tn The MCL is intact. LATERAL COMPARTMENT: Allowing for motion artifact, there is fraying to the lateral meniscal posterior horn free edge, and the posterior root is diminutive. Superficial chondral fibrillation is present at the posterior meniscal surface of the tibial plateau without subchondral remodeling. Intact lateral collateral ligament complex and structures of the posterolateral corner. INTERCONDYLAR NOTCH: The anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments are intact.

Avatar m tn Well I've been through a few issues w my knee. So i start w the 1st to I had surgery for the 1st time. Mine began that way & I went 6 mthsw docs saying it was tendonitus. Well by the 5 mth. It got to where I could not take the pain at all. It was a meniscus tear in my knee & a plica band (dead tissue around the knee cap) did it come on suddenly or did u injure it? Mine was sudden & the tear got worse bc I kept going full force & didn't get treatment.
