Common Questions and Answers about Knee pain symptoms remedies

knee-pain

Avatar m tn is the left knee, and a recent accident disclosed a torn cartilage and arthritis in the left knee (and some swelling behind the knee.....no pain, just swollen). One injection of Cartisone and 1 weekly injection of Hyaluronic Acid for 3 weeks brought some relief, but very little. I read about Castor Oil Packs and within 1 hour, I eliminated the swelling (had been swollen for almost 4 months) and daily treatments of COP has eliminated 95% of all discomfort....
Avatar m tn t keep my kness bent for more than 15-20 minutes without feeling some pain in my knees. For the last around 4-5 months or so I have occasionally noticed that I feel pain in my fingers joints while washing my hands when the finger joints rub against one another. I have never seen a doctor for this problem until recently when I got in to a more serious problem. 2 weeks back on a Sunday I went to the nearby park and jogged a bit. Came back home fine.

Avatar n tn I recently had an MRI on my knee due to pain and swelling increasing over several months. It shows a complex tear of the medial meniscus involving the posterior horn, body and anterior junction. It also shows 2 ganglions 1 is small, described as-- a peritendinous involving the proximal popliteus musculotendinous junction, the other is described as -- extensive septated lobulated pericruciate ganglion measuring 3.7 cm along the posterior border of the PCL.
Avatar n tn No matter what is causing your pain it should be treated. If your doctor is unwilling to treat your pain, then ask for a referral to a pain specialist. I think it's ridiculous, and terrible for you to be in pain for so long with no help whatsoever from your doctor. I think physical therapy might help, aqua therapy also, and maybe even injections of some sort. I do think you need some pain medications STAT! I hope the doctor finally realizes the extent and duration of your pain and treats it.
Avatar f tn Hey guys, I'm in a bit of pain in my abdominal region. I'm bloated and will have occasional pain. It can be an ache or a stronger pain. I'm not sure what it is or what the signs are. Are there any home remedies? I can't get it checked out rn.
Avatar n tn Exactly 2 weeks ago, after jogging, two off-leash dogs playing tag slammed into the front of my R knee, and knocked me over. Swelling and pain started soon after, and got worse over the next few days. Particularly on the center, sides and above my knee. At first I alternated between hobbling around and using crutches, as well as R.I.C.E. but I have become more strict about staying off the bad leg, hoping soon I will be able to walk again.
Avatar f tn The knees are at the stage where my doctor says the only option is knee replacement surgery, and that I should let him know when the pain is too bad to tolerate. So, any walking is painful, as is driving, getting out of a chair, etc. Even worse is the lower back pain. If I stand or walk for more than 3-5 minutes, I develop back spasms so bad that I feel nauseous, get sweaty and even feel sort of panicky. The only thing that shows in x-rays for my lower back is the arthritis.
Avatar f tn I have knee pain and swelling that comes and goes. I have been to an Orthopedic and have had x-rays and MRI. Nothing specific was noted in the x-ray and scan. The Dr suggested orthoscopic surgery to see what he might be able to do. I have not had the surgery. He also suggested I may have osteoarthritis. The pain will come with walking, sometimes very quickly and sometimes not much at all.
Avatar f tn MY DR SAYS MY KNEE IS THE KNEE OF AN 80 YEAR OLD WOMAN. I WEIGHED 287 POUNDS AND HAD LOTS OF PAIN AS I WALKED AND THE DOCS WOULDN'T CONSIDER REPLACING MY KNEE BECAUSE I AM TOO YOUNG AND I AM A TEACHER THAT IS ON MY FEET ALL DAY. WELL WITHIN THE LAST YEAR, I'VE LOST DOWN TO 200ISH POUNDS AND I AM PRETTY MUCH PAIN FREE. I'M PUSHED TO GET THE REPLACEMENT BECAUSE I WANT TO CONTINE TO EXERCISE TO FINISH MY WEIGHT LOSS THAT I DID ON MY OWN WITHOUT ANY TYPE OF SURGERY.
1850203 tn?1325253608 the pain of the knee is at the side of the knee cap. sometimes it (the bump) will pop out -- whenever I get up from a chair. I pop it back in by sitting down again and raising the lower leg. this might be from an injury when I was 4 when thrown down from a stool and landing on knees several times. thank you.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have pain in the tibia of my left leg, which I think is below the knee cap. The pain started when I was 18, after I got an injury during a basketball game. Now I'm 20 and I still feel the pain only when I engage in physical activity. What's wrong with me. Could these by osgood schlatters disease?

Avatar f tn I have just started having a dull aching pain in and around my left knee. It has started waking me up at night. I am already on Celebrex 200 twice a day. Could this still be arthritis?
Avatar f tn I was told that I have patella feminel pain, I am use to having trouble kneeling and walking after a shift at work and and my knee being weak and the knee cap moving around, but lately even when I am not doing anything it feels as though something is push up on my knee cap, and extremely painful and I cant get the pain to go away. At time it feels as though something is being wedged under my knee cap.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me to wear knee braces whenever I am going to be on my feet a lot. The knee braces help a little but they drive me crazy. My doctor told me that I need to have knee surgery on both of my knees in order to prevent it from getting worse. I have refused the surgery and now two years later they are hurting worse than ever.
Avatar f tn m feeling. The most aggrivating one recently is muscle knee pain so intense sometimes I need help getting up. Both knees have been replaced many years ago and the hardware has been declared flawless. What's up? I'm constantly dizzy. Is that the MS or the Meniere's?
