My right knee was causing much pain on the outside area, and when I would walk it felt like my knee would try to slip out of joint. Like the outter area of my knee was pulling it out. I went and saw a specialist, they took an x-ray and didn't see any damage. He moved my leg around in every motion possible and said I more than likely tore my meniscus again on the outside and that is why it is giving out.
Over past few yrs I have developed a tight uncomfortable pain on the outer right knee, just to the right of the kneecap. A hard bony lump has developed over time as well, in the painful area. It looks quite exaggerated when compared with the left knee which is normal, with no pain. About 3 yrs ago I did have problem with what felt like a painful tightness behind the same knee, which became quite uncomfortable when going down on my haunches.
I've recently started skateboarding again its been about 4 months and I usually skate at most twice a week. Lately I've been feeling pain on the outside of my right knee after about an hour of skating. I've realized I usually land on my right leg if I'm jumping off a trick that I know I'm not going to land and this happens repeatedly. My right leg is my front leg when skating so when I land on it I'm also stopping my forward movement.
Now pain located vicinity of lateral collateral ligament and behind knee. Sharp pain behind knee upon straightening/standing. Also pain behind knee hen bending (I.e. Getting in an out of car, drivers side). Flexing foot to put shoe on cause sharpe pain around lateral collateral ligament. Knee slightly swollen an somewhat warm. Any ideas.
Felt pain in right knee when pulling sofa forward about 4months ago. At the time I had no swelling , no continuous pain or knee wasn't buckling. However, when I've tried running I can't totally put weight on right knee. When I'm lying on my back, and bend my leg there's no pain. When I starighten my leg I can feel pain.ive tried holding my leg halfway and the pain is there around my right knee.ive not been to doctors because I have no "major symptoms".
the only thing to give it a glimmer of relief is the knee brace i have to wear now. the pain is on my right knee, it varies where it hurts but lately it's on the right outside part. sometimes when i'm sitting in the butterfly position the pain is in the same place but it extends to the front of my kneecap. i dont know what to do help!!
Hello, I've just started having pain on the outside of my right knee I was playing boo with my son when I first felt a sharp pain, over the week each time I kneel down I feel a hard throbbing pain, when rubbed it throbs and also when bent, when the leg is straight it's fine! My knee clicks now and again and when I feel the knee cap it feels like it's grinding, does anyone have any ideas what this could be, my partner seems to think it could be my cartilage!
but it bothers me because i can tell my upper right side on my right knee is a bit bigger than the left side. and when it hurts i used to touch it and i can feel like a muscle on it and has a weird feeling when i touch it. it doesnt feels like a cyst or lump. Its not very painful but im just worried why is it like this? I had an x ray few year ago but the one who reads it said theres nothing on it.
When I lay on my right side , bend my knee 45% and try to lift it straight up , severe pain on the outside of the knee. Absolutely can not lift it. I told the doctor this after one month, he just said it ould get better with time. 13 months later no difference same intense pain. Knee bends 90% and works fine except when I try tp privot inward to the right. If I walk up stairs and turn the knee inward at the same time it will collapse under me in pain.
But from yesterday I am having sharp pain in the outside portion of my left knee cap. It is fine if the knee is at rest or folded, but everytime I try to straighten my leg or walk, I feel the pain in the knee. While walking if I keep my knee bent a little, the pain lessens.
I remember no external injury or any other strain on my legs. There is no outside pain or swelling. Also, my knee feels stiff, like the locked knuckles which you bend and crackle to make it normal.
s a sharp shooting electric like pain on the outside of the left knee almost dead even with the top outside corner of my knee cap. If I touch the area and rub it no pain it's actually numb but if I run my finger lightly across the bottom of my knee cap the pain is hooting from there to the out side mention spot. And by lightly I mean just light enough to feel my skin with my finger. Please any info would help it affects my work and daily life. Thank you for your time and any ideas and info.
For the last two hours I am not able to bend my knee and trying to move it is very painful. I feel a sharp pain on the right outside of my left knee. Is there anything I can do to make it unlock? If not what will be the best option. My knee has been hurting and swollen for three days now but I haven't had it lock on me before. I was able to walk around before now.
My left was done in Janurary 2007 and my right knee was done in July 2007. Since the surgery I have had severe pain espically on the outside of the right knee. I have pain in both knees and limited movement in both. The pain has not gotten any better with time. I did have an injection of steroids about 6 months ago that helped some but things have not gotten any better since. Has anyone else had this sort of problem?
I twisted my knee and when it happen I heard and felt a pop on the inside of my knee. Also, now when I walk, I have pain and crackling on the outside, under the knee. When I am walking and I have to turn or piviot, I get a pain that runs the inside of my knee. And now I can just be standing there and my knee feels like it is really loose and feels like I hyperextended in, the knee pushes back. How ling should I wait to go to the doctor or should I continue to try and heal it myself.

I thought maybe I must've bumped it without noticing, I'm so clumsy like that. So I ignored it and tried to avoid touching it/ putting pressure on that knee.
I have had a problem with my knee for about a year. I was playing tennis and after sprinting I went to plant my foot my knee twisted, I heard a pop, and it gave out. It swelled up and hurt pretty bad. After about 2 weeks, the swelling went away and it didn't hurt too bad. Even though the pain went away, the knee just hasn't felt right. The best way i could describe it is sometimes the knee feels like it wants to turn inside out.
Im 31 years old lost 50 lb back down to 130lb well i have been having this pain in my right knee on the outside of it. the pain feels like a sharp burning pain only when i put pressure on it.. I have lost weight and its still happening. its been like this for about two+ years. My knee clicks at time.. when i wake up in the morning its feels like there is water trapped around my knee cap and swollen alittle. then about 45 mins after i get up the water and swellening goes down.
(seems to be helping the pain) The acupuncturist, who is also an MD stuck one needle behind my right knee and I immediately experianced a lot of pain at the site. He replaced the needle and it seemed to be fine but the area was sore arfter removal and my right foot had some sensory disturbances right away.
Since then I have intermitant pins and needles on top of my right foot and some tingling in my right calf on the outside.
there is no definitive test for fibro - they do tests to rule out other diseases - is the pain in your knee or on the outside of the leg at your knee or the inside of the leg near your knee and have they checked for osteoarthritis - you said behind the knee - do you mean behind the patella (knee cap) or at the back of your leg behind the knee - try to be very precise when telling the doctor where exactly the pain is coming from - i dont know much about ms but i know pain comes with it - i belie
