I have minimal swelling above the knee cap but no redness, warmth or presence of a fever. The pain is worse when I am sitting, climbing or coming down stairs, and extending the knee from 90 to 180 degrees. I have major weakness in the joint when standing (almost feels like it's going to "give out" if that makes sense). In the past 3 weeks it has started "popping" when I attempt to extend it. It cracks and makes funny grinding noises.
I started having unexplainable severe knee pain. No idea how or why. No injury, no swelling, no bruising. I had my knee examined, Xrays done, and everything looked great. I decided to change the sneakers I was using to exercise and actually use sneakers when using the eliptical at home and as God is my witness - problem solved!!!!!!!! No more knee pain.

I have knee pain in my right knee when I kneel down on it.About a year ago the same knee for some reason unknown to me got very swollen & had to use crutches for about a week. Anyway when I kneel down it is like kneeling on a tack. Then it has a sensation of a rug burn to the touch. After about five times of this happening I looked more closely. On the right lower outer edge of knee cap it gets a swell pocket. It does not swell up the entire knee just this oval like shaped pocket.
If it is just occasionally popping with no pain, it could be nothing and some exercise like knee bends could strengthen your knee. On the other hand, it is painful too especially with swelling you may want to see a doc. If your knee is making a grinding noise for example it could mean that the cartilage is wearing down.
Especially if this continues to bother you check with your pcp or an orthopedic specialist before exercising or anything!
My husband, 52 yrs old, no back issues at all, he does have a severe neck problems, he has no symptoms from disc disease He was standing in line at a coffee shop bought the coffee turned to walk and fell on his face, no feeling in his leg at all, no numbness, no pain, he describes it like it wasn't there, when he went to try and get up it took a min to get a feeling back in his leg for him to stand...
I can bear weight, but any twists of the knee is an absolute no no. And getting in and out of a car in a nightmare. The pain is on the lower inside of the knee and sort of down to my shin. Also bruising just under and to the side of my knee. The swelling is pretty much the entire knee and then some. Ice, ibuprofen, and elevation have helped but not cured it.
Do you think I tore something? Should I go to the doctor? Probably a dumb question, but unfortunately I don’t have health insurance.
I am feeling pain in my right knee for 7 years now and all the doctors say they don't know the reason. One of my doctors did say I have bruising on the inside of my knee and gave me medication. After a few days, it wasn't working and the pain kept coming. I have a pain on the inside of my knee. It's constant unbearable pain. It hurts to where my whole leg gets numb and my feet gets cold. My knee also has this stingy feeling and they give out on itself.
Nearly two years ago my 21 year old boyfriend began to experience severe knee pain. There was no previous injury to the knee to cause the pain. He has since seen every specialist you can think off and they are all stumped. He has had many blood test ans scans done with nothing showing up that can explain the amount of pain. He says that his pain is centered at the middle of is knee ( the point that you would come to if you drilled from the top of the knee and the side of the knee).
The knee xray showed no fracture or other issue - the reason for another doctor ordering xrays was that I am unable to put any direct weight on the knee (kneel on it) and it graunches and carries on when moving it, though this causes no pain. I have no pain on movement, the bruise that was present for six weeks has gone and it is no longer swollen but still this problem remains.
Any suggestions as to what it may be?
once i had the surgery in may my knee feels great but my question is that ever since my surgery i have had this like sharp pain in my right glut and occasionally in my right lower leg. i feel it the most when i bend over my right leg to pick something up. i was wondering if you could tell me what it could possibly be and what i can do to get rid of it. I am an active person and would like to get back to enjoying the outdoors.
He did an ultrasound and drew off some more fluid and gave him another cortizone shot. The first doctor drew the fluid from under his knee and the second drew it from his knee cap. It has been several weeks now and his pain is back he still has a little swelling but now both his knees hurt. He wears a brace on both his knees now. He has trouble getting up if he has to get down on the ground for something. We are not sure what to do now because both doctors has told him all his test look fine.
Most of the time when I am walking around it feels like normal, however there are times that I feel excruiating pain in and around the knee. I have noticed most times it occurs is when i am bending deep with my knee I.e. getting into my car, going down stairs fast, bending down to pick something off the ground. However it does not always happen when I am doing these activities. When the pain starts the only way I have seen to relief the pain is to straighten out my leg.
When someone have Ars, is muscle pain like that? I have muscle pain en knee pain only in my right leg. Is muscle pain like that when someone has ars or is muscle pain over the entire body when someone has ars?
And what about knee pain?
When someone has knee pain from ars, is it in both knees or possibly only one?
The sore throat and the headache I had is over.
Besides the muscle pain and the knee pain, I have feel perfect.
Almost a year and a half ago my boyfriend started to experience chronic knee pain. In February of last year he had a knee surgery to remove a hematoma and clotted blood and dead tissue. Since that surgery his knee has only gotten worse. He has been to every specialist you can think of and has been on extremely high amounts of pain medication with no relief.
I am a 53 year old male who has been walking my whole life, lately my right knee has been locking up and I get a bad burning pain just about were my knee bends. This just came on all of a sudden about two weeks ago. It dosen't happen all the time, but when it does the pain is a hot burning type pain. It burns for awhile and I have trouble walking and then it just goes away for days at a time until it happens again. Does anyone know what it could be or what is causing this pain.
Before using linament you should have an evaluation of the knee to determine the nature of the pain. I was developing severe knee pain, and used linament, and the problem became progressively worse, until I could barely walk. The problem was fluid accumulation. They withdrew a large (so it looked) quantity of fluid with a hypodermic needle, and "poof"...the pain was gone, never to return. That was seven years ago. When the fluid is taken out they look for evidence of blood.
I have dislocated my left knee 6 times throughout my life, my right knee never gave me any problems until 2-3 years ago when the only way to stop the pain was to overextend my knee and force it to pop. Until it pops, I have awful pain that is on the inside on my knee and underneath my kneecap and sometimes I have shooting pain go from under my kneecap all the way up the center/middle of my thigh to my hip.
I play street hockey and while running during a game about 2 weeks ago, I landed a bit awkwardly on my right foot. I felt like I had jammed or very slightly hyperextended my knee. The pain was moderate and after a day or so it was all but gone.
I have suffered no 'real' injury from this, as I am able to walk, run, work out, etc. with no issues or loss of performance.
However, since the event I've noticed that my knee aches after I play hockey.
er and swimmer I am pretty fit and active in every other way, and do not experience any other pain in any other knee position or activity with my knees. There is no pain inside my knee joint or to the sides or behind my knees. When I press my fingers on my knee I can feel that is a bit grissly in small areas with some sensitivity. Any ideas on the reason would be appreciated.
