Common Questions and Answers about Knee pain medication

knee

Avatar f tn Found out on Friday there is actually something wrong with my right knee that could be causing the back pain (the back pain was in my back and sending pain down my right leg). They are doing surgery on Wednesday because back in '09 I had a lateral release in my right leg and my band in my knee healed and grew back really thick, so he is going back in to thin the band up. He said he believe it is what is causing all my pain and etc. If it makes any sense..
975514 tn?1324997938 I suffer from tendonitis in my shoulder and arm as well. I have pain that lingers around my body from joint to joint too. one day it will be in my knee, the next day it will be in my hip. I have sciatica. I also have a lot of pain in my neck and upper back and I suffer from constant migraines. Plus I've been diagnosed with the dreaded Fibromyassa. I find that chronic use of opiates makes my pain worse, and really intensifies my pain so to speak.
Avatar f tn I am feeling pain in my right knee for 7 years now and all the doctors say they don't know the reason. One of my doctors did say I have bruising on the inside of my knee and gave me medication. After a few days, it wasn't working and the pain kept coming. I have a pain on the inside of my knee. It's constant unbearable pain. It hurts to where my whole leg gets numb and my feet gets cold. My knee also has this stingy feeling and they give out on itself.
Avatar n tn Hi all. I was doing some online searching for possible causes of my knee pain and stumbled on this site. I'm hoping someone might have some insight. I received a cortisone injection a couple of weeks ago in my left heel for plantar faciitis. Since then, I've developed a somewhat sharp pain in my right knee making it somewhat hard to walk or bend. I've had no injury to my knee and never really had knee pain before.
1378884 tn?1315505845 When first diagnosed I could not walk up a flight of stairs due to the intense general knee pain. Now it comes back intermittently for a day or two then it subsides but does not fully go away. I have also felt like I cannot stretch my tendons in my legs enough even after warming them up and stretching for 30 min. I am 55 and have done many bad things to my knees over the years but nothing like this has happened before.

Avatar m tn Almost a year and a half ago my boyfriend started to experience chronic knee pain. In February of last year he had a knee surgery to remove a hematoma and clotted blood and dead tissue. Since that surgery his knee has only gotten worse. He has been to every specialist you can think of and has been on extremely high amounts of pain medication with no relief.

I JUST AM BESIDE MYSELF. I ASKED THE DR AT MY POST OP AND HE STATES THIS IS NORMAL.. MY KNEE ALSO CLICKS SOMETIMES. HE STATES THIS IS NORMAL TOO. PLEASE HELP. I NEED SOME ADVICE.
Avatar n tn I'm having total knee replacement surgery soon. I can't have a nerve block due to my spine. I'll have general Anesthesia, but was told the pain will be increased since I can't have the block. I'm concerned about managing pain afterward since I have Barrett's. Has anyone had knee or hip surgery and have Barrett's? What type of pain medication did you have?
Avatar n tn And have tried everything he has asked me too. The only thing that has worked for my knee pain that allows me to be pain free ,is pain pills, but I am afraid to ask him for them because of the immediate labeling(which even you are having as you read this) that comes from someone asking for a strong pain medication. Stay off the knee! I can’t, I have no desire to be stationary until I am dead.Limit your activities> I already do, no running, jumping, or hard impact sports.
Avatar n tn A week ago I went to my doctor because I was having pain in my left foot,.lateral foot pain. It's been going on for about 6 weeks. It would dull ache most of the time with sudden bouts of extreme pain in which it felt like a knife was digging in my foot. He did an xray and said it wasn't broken and prescribed anti-inflammatory medication. A week later and now I can't bend my left knee back and it's hurting to put pain on my knee.
529142 tn?1214352259 Charles, in 2001 I was dignosed with a soft tissue mass at the brain stem/spinal cord, loose bones at c1c2 after surgery on at the back of neck and one through right side under ear, I was left in severe pain to the right side of head/face, hands, lower outside right leg and chronic nerve damage. 4817742 tn?1359564366 However, you need to give rest to the joint for extended period of time and use anti-inflammatory pain medication. Application of ice pack also reduces inflammation and keeping the leg elevated keeps the pressure off the knee. You can take up swimming as an exercise if you have to lose weight as this will put the pressure off your knee while allowing you to exercise. How long it will take the knee to settle down cannot be said.
1722077 tn?1311052238 Hello Tuckamore, Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I don't get on here daily but you had a great question for me, Why do I want to quit taking my medication when it is the only thing that I can do to make my life bearable. I have had osteoarthritis all my life. I can remember my mother rubbing my knees when I was small and of course remember the growing pain stage I think everyone had when our knees hurt and our parents said it was growing pains?
