knee pain jump

A few months ago, I started to have back pain, in my lower spine, and horrible knee pain. I can still handle the back pain cause it stops after 30 minutes of training, and returnes after it (I don't care as long as I can play), but knee pain in my left knee is horrible. Yesterday I jumped and felt as like someone is stabbing me with a knife in my knee. I couldn't stand on my left leg for 10 minutes, and after that it still hurts a bit, but I can walk nicely today.

however I now find that when I kneel on my right knee I get a needle like pain - similar to the feeling of a plaster being ripped off my knee on right side. I can run, jump etc but kneeling is excruciating. Can anyone advise if this is temporary - that some rest might fix or could I have damaged something requiring further investigation. Part of my knee is also numb since fall and have throbbing sensation but no swelling.

But when I do a two legged jump to go up for a dunk, I immediately get pain around the middle of my left knee. It then hurts to jump and there is pain when doing even a minor squat. Eventually within about an hour. I can do a squat and feel a only a minor discomfort in the knee, after a few more hours it eventually dissipates to no pain and just a feeling that something isn't right when I squat. The next day I can go out for a run and feel no pain.

Hi, I have pain in the tibia of my left leg, which I think is below the knee cap. The pain started when I was 18, after I got an injury during a basketball game. Now I'm 20 and I still feel the pain only when I engage in physical activity. What's wrong with me. Could these by osgood schlatters disease?

I have been having knee troubles since mid november of last year. The pain came up about two weeks after basketball had started and it hasn't gotten much better or worse to this day. The pain comes when I jump, squat, lunge, etc. which causes playing basketkball very difficult. The pain is worst directly on my kneecap.

hello, I play volleyball, which is hard on the knees from diving to jumping all the time... a few months ago I dove and hit my knee on the groung very hard. My knee pain went away and it recently has come back. It feels like a knife goes into my knee right below my knee cap every time i jump or put a lot of pressure on it like trying to stand up. I have been icing it, but it won't go away....Does anyone 1. Know what is wrong? or 2. Know how to fix it?

I'm experiencing a sharp knee pain (left knee), to the side of joint (left side) when i kneel flush on my knee cap. I've had water on the knee (right) many years ago which only occurred when i flew long distance. When i press my knee cap, no pain, nor to the side, only seems to be on hard surfaces with my full weight. Any thoughts, much appreciated.

It throbbs when I am sat down, and if i move my knee left or right whilst my foot is on the floor I get a very sharp shooting pain which makes me jump. also if i raise my leg out straight and then bring it towards me the sharp pain happens when my leg is at a 90 degree angle or less. The only history I have with joint problems was when I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis 5 years ago, which I experienced Arthritis pain in all my joints.

I just went back the other day for my follow up because my knee pain has gotten worse and he thinks i have damaged cartilage in my knee and if i do he said i need surgery. So if i do have to have surgery how long is the recovery and will i have to wear knee braces if i play these sports from now on?

But there is defintely no pain. Any thoughts?

However, I have terrible joints but especially knee pain. My right knee gives me more trouble than the left. IThe pain that I am experiencing is strange to me in that it is not always there. Currently, it is full force, but not all the time, only in certain situations. For example, if I am just standing straight up, there is no pain. My right knee feels a bit funny, but nothing in the form of pain.

My 14 yr old daughter has had knee pain for a couple of years, Dr's have said muscles around her knee joint needed strengthening and she has been going to physical therapy. the 1st therapist she went to said the range of motion in her hip/knee was minimal and had her do a stretching routine. I decided not to continue with the therapy since she could do these stretches at home. To my regret she didn't continue with the stretches and about a year later her knee/hip pain worsened.

This happens due to mal-alignment of the knee cap on bending the knee (and hence any imaging study has to be taken with the knee bent), injury to the knee (you may have sustained it in past), flat feet, over tight or over lax muscles around the knee joint. All these aspects will have to be investigated by your doctor. Other possibilities are bursitis (inflammation of fluid filled sac over joints), tendonitis (inflammation of cords joining muscles to bones) or due to weakness of patellar bone.

Wile in the service during training I felt a sharp pain in my outer left knee. It was intence for awile but then it went away so ofcourse being mr military i did not complain. Now I am out of the military and trying ot get back in shape. I have noticed that if i try and jump and pull my left heal to my butt and down. I get a shap pain on the left side of my left knee. I dont' know how to explain the pain as anything except a stabbing feeling. Any help would be great on this subject.

I dislocated my knee cap badly a few weeks ago while i was on holiday. I was told by the specialist that i have snapped the ligaments and my leg was to be in a cast from thigh to ankle for 6 weeks before physio started if the ligaments healed, if they didnt heal i would need surgery to put fake ones in. When i got home the cast had slipped and i hadnt got the notes sent through so i went up to A & E to see what they said and they have changed me to a leg brace.

Not sure what it is. He has never shown any signs of pain, and seems to run and jump just fine. A vet told me once that he's fine, but it may need to be replaced as he gets older. Any ideas what it could be or if it is serious and needs to be fixed sooner rather than later...

Hello thanks for taking some time to answer my question ever since my knee injury my ankle in very weak if I jump and come down my knee feels like it is going to pop out then it starts to get swollen and I can't not bend it fully for at least a couple of days this all started when I dislocated my knee I never had knee problems what could I do because I have this bump on the side of my knee and my other knee it's completely flat and smooth thanks agin

i hate when dogs jump on me, so i do not allow my dog to jump i startedher right off if she jumps she get introuble, when mine jumps and they learning i pop them in nose they not jump no more. no fun being jumped on with your dog but to have someone elsa dog do it is a pain, i will not go to a few friends houses because they let there dogs jump on you and they big dogs , so i just stay away from them.

he has been diagnosed with knee luxation and has no pain that we are aware of he just wont go up and down 2 stairs or jump anymore..

They gave me a brace thing when I was pregnant the first time but my bump was too big to be comfortable wearing it and it was hard to sit down. I just have to be careful with myself and try not to let myself overstretch. It goes back to normal pretty quickly after delivery.

This past weekend I fell while riding a motorcycle. My knee was hit, but it didn't feel very serious at all as I am able to walk fine with very minor pain. There is little swelling and a few scratches because I was wearing jeans during the fall. My knee however is numb. I've applied ice for the past two days but hasn't seen any improvement.
