knee-pain

Avatar m tn I still limp, although after the first 10 steps, once the leg moves a bit, I do better. Most of the pain is in the knee, the leg still swells at the actual fracture site, but the knee is the major pain area. How long should I expect this to continue? I was a very active person before this accident, walked a few miles a day, and now I feel like a slug! The pain has changed me, and I hate taking the narcotics...Please...any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn t hurt too bad but flex the knee and it has sharp pain like i have walking up and down stairs because of the knee caps. I sit in a normal position but lifting foot causing lots of pain around knee cap. I'm guessing I probably pulled something. Have put ice on it and taken ibu. I don't know that there is much a dr. would do but just wonder what I could have pulled.

Avatar n tn Thanks for the information, but i have no back pain or soreness in my lower back at this moment, can this still be happening even without any lower back pain?? I do show signs of degeneration in my upper spine & neck area. I originally had real bad lower back pain during recovery of my accident, but it did not affect my legs in this manner, mostly unable to bend forward. I thought I recovered from the lower back pain aboput 2-3 months ago. I guess it may still be affecting me again.
Avatar m tn I felt no discomfort then, but each day afterward for about a week I felt first pain on the lateral side of the knee, then the pain moved to the medial side of the knee, now the only discomfort is on the posterior portion of the knee in the soft tissue with my leg straight as I walk. It was bad enough last week that I was limping, (almost ready for a cane) but it was intermittent. What happened to my knee and what should I do to heal it and for how long?
Avatar f tn ( but i have a lot of pain in my knee, and my hip today. I sometimes get this pain that radiates from my ankles, up to my knee and right now i just feel it in my knee, its a very uncomfortable feeling.
Avatar f tn s the sciatic nerve being pinched or irritated in some way. Before I had my hips replaced I had pain that would start in my, um, rear end, shoot down the back of my thigh, SKIP my knee area and continue down the back of my calf. After the hip surgery the sciatic pain disappeared. My guess is that the hip pain was altering the way I walked, sat, stood, etc, which can easily lead to pain elsewhere in the body.

Avatar f tn I have had alot of pain, popping/craking in riggt knee. I have MRI report that states high grade articular cartilage defect with marginal flap for.ation at median paar ridge. Along with other signs of ligament sprain. Will the flap require surgery?
Avatar f tn I began having knee pain one and a half months ago in both knees. I noticed my right knee would give out occasionally, and was weaker than my left knee, but this has since stopped over the last month. Now both knees are in agonizing pain. I noticed when I knelt down on the kitchen tile, the pain was so great, I couldn't kneel on them at all. I rolled onto my side, then sat on my rear, and contemplated how I would get up.
902868 tn?1242156798 I try riding a bicycle and it hurts me so bad on where my buttocks bones sits on the seat, that it is torture! I even have a nice silicone padded seat, and so does my husband on his bike. His rear end does hurt at all, but mine does. Is the buttocks another trigger point area for fibromyalgia sufferers? I just can't seem to enjoy anything without pain. I am so tired of living this way.
Avatar f tn you feel pain at the side and in center of knee, the swelling increases day by day, limit your tendency to bend the knee, you may feel sharp pain while bending your knee and walking. The pain come and go anytime and anywhere. 3. Extreme tears: the pain moves in joint space, you must feel you are unable to straighten your knee and pain get worst. your knee become frail, swell and stiff. The pain lasts for a long time. If you have any of these symptoms, contact to a Orthopedist.
Avatar m tn After about 3-4 weeks of visits, I have had no pain since May of 2013 and my knee no longer hurts either. My right hip was out of place; no wonder I had pain! Go for it. Since there is no neurological issues or fractures, this is your best bet.
Avatar m tn I just got an MRI and was diagnosed with a damaged meniscus in both of my knees. This might be the reason of the pain. But as they also found fluid in my knees (caused by the damaged meniscus) there could be also so called Baker Zysts (collections of fluid behind the knee) which cause pain. Another thing that came to my mind when they told me about the fluid, is some kind of arthritis. I read that arthritis can cause nodes (not lymph nodes).
Avatar f tn I went back to doctor and the doctor said it is arthritis of the knee and that, at this point, no tests were necessary. Well, in spite of anti-inflammatory meds, I cannot put my full weight down on my leg without pain that seems more concentrated directly under the knee. I am walking around limping. I am afraid that if something else is going on, I may be injuring it more by walking on it. Can you answer the following for me? 1. Should I be getting x-rays or a MRI? 2.
Avatar f tn Hi EVERYONE!! im in so much pain right now, that i can't get comfortable doing anything. I tried laying down but i hurt my back to much, and now i'm sitting and its hurting my hip, and if i stand it hurts my leg :( I have a feeling i won't be sleeping tonight. I have no idea whats wrong with my back but the pain is HORRIBLE.
Avatar m tn The location of the knee pain can be a useful guide. Pain in the front portion of the knee can be caused by bursitis (inflammation of the lining of the joint, possible due to injury while playing), arthritis, or injury to the patella cartilage (front portion of the knee). Pain on either sides of the knee is usually related to meniscal tears, injuries to the collateral ligaments, and even to arthritis. You will need X-rays and MRIs of the knee to find the exact.
Avatar f tn For the past 6 weeks I have been experiencing pain in the back of my knee and down my calf muscle in my right leg. If i rest either with my feet up or down, when I go to stand my leg from my knee to my foot is very stiff and sore. I am unable to kneel as it feels like a massive burst of pain behind the knee into my calf muscle as if i have severly sprained it. When standing, if i transfer any weight onto my right leg, i get pain from the back of the knee right down my calf.
4671444 tn?1357794171 In all probability you have injured the menisci in the knee—either the medial or the lateral depending on the site of pain. Meniscii if torn or injured, result in joint instability—that is you are not confident the knee joint will take your weight. Often the person feels a popping sensation on moving the joint. It can also be tendinitis due to inflammation of tendon at the knee joint. Since you had tendon injury 4 years back, this time too it could be a tendon troubling you.
Avatar m tn t suggest arthritis to me, I have arthritis of the knee and I get pain in the knee, also in muscles that work the knee. I don't get numbness anywhere else. I'm not medically qualiified but a doctor should check this out, whatever it is you will be better off with treatment.
Avatar n tn s cyst, bursitis, connective tissue disorders such as lupus, dislocation of the kneecap, iIliotibial band syndrome, infection or any trauma or abnormalities in the structures in the knee. Many causes of knee pain, especially those related to overuse or physical activity, respond well to self-care such as resting and applying ice to the affected area. At this point, follow your doctor's orders and have him go for regular follow-up for monitoring. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn My 9 year old female Siberian husky suddenly is not putting any weight on one of her rear legs. There is no wound, no pain at all, I have massaged the leg and she does not cry. It seems to be getting progressively worse. There seems to be some loss of muscle mass, have you seen this before?
Avatar m tn I got up walking with a limp and developed a bruise behind my knee, had spasims throughout my hamstring, and pain in the upper area of my hamstring just below my butt when walking and sitting was extremely painful. There was no bruising in upper area of hamstring. I went to sports surgeon he said that I need physical thearphy , it appears that I have a tear, didd not tell me to take a MRI and said a tear will in time by itself since I am not a runner. .
Avatar m tn Recently, after running and following my stretching regime, I have experienced tightening of the knee in question, and then the following morning a swelling at the back of the knee on the medial side appeared. It seems to clear within a couple of days, and in fact does not always return following further running or walking. Do you have any inclination whether this is common following a cartilage op. and do you consider they are even necessarily related? Thanks for your attention.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm an 19 year old male and since the last week of August, I've had a sharp pain in my knee. It's occurs in my left knee, on the inside. It's very near to the platella, but I don't know if it's the tibia or the fibula. It's the bone that kind of slightly juts out. Anyways, it hurts to bend the knee and walking up and down stairs causes slight pain as well. Any insight on the problem is appreciated. Thanks for your time!
