I had some mild pain in the calf of my left leg. My doctor said it is not a clot. The pain has gotten extensively worse now affecting the knee. I went back to doctor and the doctor said it is arthritis of the knee and that, at this point, no tests were necessary. Well, in spite of anti-inflammatory meds, I cannot put my full weight down on my leg without pain that seems more concentrated directly under the knee. I am walking around limping.
The sore, aching, and rigid muscles on the left seem to be a residual effect of the typically constant muscle spasms and stabbing nerve pain that have remained in the area since the original presentation of my severe chronic pain symptoms back in 2018. Bending too far forward still triggers sharp pain in the center of the lower spine.
Throbbing, aching pain can still be felt radiating from the left hip down the left thigh and to the knee. Said knee is hyper-reflexive.
My knee and lower leg have been in pain for a few months now. I believe the pain is from jogging and putting too much pressure on my leg in general. It hurts mostly when I walk or put pressure on it. Resting my leg and taking naproxen and ibprofen to reduce inflammation does not seem to be healing it. Is it possible that this injury will require surgery? What should I do?
Yeah I have pretty bad knee, hip, and lower back pain. More than likely it's just from the extra weight from the pregnancy. I'm hoping it'll stop once I deliver, for you and me. I know how miserable it can be.
I injured my right knee (injured knee as it sharply moved laterally to the right) in 05. I initially had pain below my knee cap and to the right of it as well as in the IT band area. One yr later, mild, occasional tingling in bottom of right foot started but only when I “stressed” my knee (run, swim, bike etc). From the beginning when I injured it, pain in my knee was very mild unless I exercised then it was much worse to the point of not being able to exercise at all.
SO I AM HAVING PRETTY EXTREME PAIN ONLY WHEN KNEEING ON LEFT KNEE--USUALLY DOMINATE KNEE THAT I ALWAYS KNEE ON WITH ALL MY WIEGHT ON FIRST. DOESNT HURT TO WALK ON OR BEND OR ANY OTHER MOTION. RECENTLY I CAN FEEL SENSATIONS FROM A LITTLE BELOW MY KNEE LIKE "PINS AND NEEDLES" BUT VERY SLIGHT. I CAN LIGHTLY TOUCH BELOW CENTER OF KNEE AND FEEL SAME PAIN WITH VERY LITTLE PRESSURE LIKE A SLIGHT RUB.
I have been told that this is the cause of frequent lower back pain, right hip pain and occasional syatic nerve issues. I am not sure, however, if this is the cause of my knee pain on the right side, but I also fell on this same knee back in the Fall of 2007 and I am not sure if that caused my current knee pain or made an existing problem even worse. Now, I am dealing with alot of pain and stiffness. I do not feel any popping or grinding.
You may have arthritic problems now in your knee. The numbness in the foot could be from referred pain from your knee or lower back, inappropriate footwear or nerve damage. Apply hot, or cold packs to the knee. Use the one that helps the best.
If the climate is hot and you work out a lot and sweat, you may require more than the 3 litres of water throughout the day.
About 2 weeks ago, while not paying attention (E-mailing) I fell off a curb and landed full force on both my knees onto asphalt. Every time I try to put any force on my knee, or if i brush up against the lower part of my knee I get a sharp pain that feels like I'm grinding glass into my knee. What is this injury, and what can I do to make it go away?
i'm a dancer and I can't extend my knee anymore. I don't know what I did to mess it up. but even laying down i have to force myself to extend it. every time i get it extended it sends sharp pain from the lower part of my knee up to my hip bone. I'm only 20 so the thought of knee replacement scares me half to death. I can't start my career in dance until my knee is back to normal.. i've tried icing it, stretching it, biofreeze you name it i've probably tried it.
Hi, I have pain in the tibia of my left leg, which I think is below the knee cap. The pain started when I was 18, after I got an injury during a basketball game. Now I'm 20 and I still feel the pain only when I engage in physical activity. What's wrong with me. Could these by osgood schlatters disease?
Thanks for the information, but i have no back pain or soreness in my lower back at this moment, can this still be happening even without any lower back pain?? I do show signs of degeneration in my upper spine & neck area. I originally had real bad lower back pain during recovery of my accident, but it did not affect my legs in this manner, mostly unable to bend forward. I thought I recovered from the lower back pain aboput 2-3 months ago. I guess it may still be affecting me again.
I have knee pain in my right knee when I kneel down on it.About a year ago the same knee for some reason unknown to me got very swollen & had to use crutches for about a week. Anyway when I kneel down it is like kneeling on a tack. Then it has a sensation of a rug burn to the touch. After about five times of this happening I looked more closely. On the right lower outer edge of knee cap it gets a swell pocket. It does not swell up the entire knee just this oval like shaped pocket.
Thank you Doctors for your valuable inputs. My pain in the knee is manageable and just inconvenience while walking . I am still in my late 30's and no other complaints so far. I am keen to follow non surgical ways but Doctor here told me that if I delay in surgery,there is a huge risk of ortheritis.

I need advice on what to do about the pain in my knee. I got into a small accident while biking last weekend. While biking along the main stretch of town, I collided with the side of a pick-up truck backing out between two buildings. He couldn't see me and I didn't see him until it was too late. Neither one of us was going very fast and there wasn't even any damage to my clothes from where I hit the pavement, so I figured the bumps and bruises were going to be the end of it.
Maybe someone can help me. For the past four months I have been experience really severe pain in my lower right leg. I have had shin splints before. I did the anti inflammatories, icing, rest, return to running slowly... etc. The pain persisted. The pain hurts when I run for longer than 5 minutes and hurts the duration of the run, and continues hurting the whole day. I had a bone scan and MRI done.
I am in constant pain when I am sitting and go to stand I want to cry . Have had ex-rays but drs. say knee is fine. The lower part of my leg is a little red while the section right below the knee is white. Drs. say nothing is wrong , everything looks good, feel like I am crazy -they give me pain pills which don't really help.
If anyone can help I would really be grateful. I am 71 and go to a fitness center a a hospital 3 days a week.
