Avatar m tn t suggest arthritis to me, I have arthritis of the knee and I get pain in the knee, also in muscles that work the knee. I don't get numbness anywhere else. I'm not medically qualiified but a doctor should check this out, whatever it is you will be better off with treatment.
482924 tn?1333203671 I'm having pain in the left knee for the past few months which has now spread to other joints like the ankle, right knee, wrist, fingers, hip etc. I've been to an orthopaedic. Knee x-ray shows arthritis. Blood test results for uric acid was 6.9. Doc gave me meds. After 1 month repeat test showed uric acid as 3.5. But pain in the joints have worsened. Doctor told me to get blood reports for serum calcium, vit d & anti ccp. Tsh too. Reports were - Ca 9.0, TSH - 1.
Avatar f tn ( but i have a lot of pain in my knee, and my hip today. I sometimes get this pain that radiates from my ankles, up to my knee and right now i just feel it in my knee, its a very uncomfortable feeling.
Avatar f tn Hi again everyone, my leg is killing me, its really swollen today, and i have radiating pain from my ankles to my hip. My pain has definitely got worse since i had surgery, not in my knee but everywhere else. I just hate playing the waiting game, because thats what my doctor makes me do, and im not able to take pain meds, so i have to deal with it everyday. It's very irratating, and it's hard to stay positive and happy when all im able to do everyday is sit in my bed and watch tv.
Avatar n tn My right knee clicks when moving down stairs. I have stiffness and pain in my right hip (particularly after running, but also when I don't run). Any ideas what I can do to fix this?
Avatar m tn i get pain is for example in lying position, hip flexed - no pain in this position (my knee is looking a bit outward, towards shoulder)...then when i am in this position and adduct my femur so that the knee looks toward chest (just 2-3 cm apart from above listed position) - Pain occurs. What could it be ind how to treat it ?
Avatar n tn Back in 1983 I fell off a roof and did a lot of damage to myself, one was numness in a 2 inch by 2 inch area above my right knee, in 2008 it spread to the complete centre from knee almost to my hip, the outside perimeter was constantly on fire, I felt like cutting my leg off at the hip. I read all of your posts and found more people than I could believe with the same situation.
Avatar m tn hi i am a girl aged 16 and for the past while i have increasing pain in my right hip while playing sports and expecialy sitting down? the back of my knee and thigh hurts aswel, sometimes when i move my hip usual cracks? it got so bad i was getting it hard to walk but now its not as bad? i also got some lower back pain ..what do you think is up???
Avatar m tn m just trying to figure things out a bit more. Since knee and hip replacements run it in the family, I suspect me knee issues are more from favouring my leg when it's acting up. I find this forum has a good activity and quality of responses, and suggestions for possible causes of miscellaneous symptoms beyond MS. I understood MS to be specific, but I wasn't sure how specific.
Avatar f tn My right hip hurts all the time and its a constant pain shooting down to my knee :( sounds weird but it feels like I need to pull my leg outta the socket and push it back in. Anyone else experiencing this ?
Avatar f tn Since high school, after running track for 4 yrs, (7 yrs ago) I hav had knee pain. In the last couple of years it has gotten worse, radiating to my hip. It happens when I've been standing or walking too long, or if I'm cold. Could this be a trauma induced osteoarthritis?
Avatar f tn Hi Again Katie, I am sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. I also see that your mood says, "I'm pregnant." You will need to discuss your pain and pain management with your PCP. I assume at this point you will have to include your OB Physician also. At 17 your plate is full. You'll need some support from your family, friends and physicians. I wish you the best and hope that you can find some homeopathic solutions to your pain.
Avatar n tn Alright, I have this pain in my right side of my hip. The pain isn't really in my hip but it's a shooting pain from my hip to my knee. I only have the pain when I take weight off my right leg for about a minute or more or when I put all my weight on my right leg for about a minute or more. First it started off every once in a while, but now after a month the pain is every time I put/ take the weight off my right leg. It is not from my sciatic nerve.
Avatar f tn I had (have) pain in the hip joint running down the outside my my thigh and into my knee, just as you describe. Walking makes it better. Sitting can be near impossible. It took me years to find a DX (Diagnosis). It was a D.O that finally DX me, proved it with several tests and treated me. I have chronic SIJD. I also had Greater Trochanteric Bursitis - in simple terms, hip bursitis. This can be caused by trauma to the hip. Very painful but treatable.
Avatar m tn Hello. just coming on here to see if anyone else has or is still in pain 8+ months after total hip replacement? Back in June of 2012 I had the surgery done. The arthritis had set in to my left hip, but the pain was spread to my left knee?? doc said the hip replacement would more than likely take care of the knee pain. At first (in the second week after) the pain wasn't so bad in the knee, but the pain came back shortly after that and isn't getting better.
Avatar m tn The pain lasted for more than 2-3 days.. Now the pain from hip has shifted towards my knee and thigh area. The pain is constant and specially in the area behind my knee, and on thighs. And now the pain has again expanded to the ankle area (the joint between feet and leg). I have tried doing exercises and such activities, and had some pain killer medicines as well, but the pain has not decreased. The pain especially increases during nights.
Avatar m tn the 1st therapist she went to said the range of motion in her hip/knee was minimal and had her do a stretching routine. I decided not to continue with the therapy since she could do these stretches at home. To my regret she didn't continue with the stretches and about a year later her knee/hip pain worsened. X-ray's were taken. Radioligist and orthopedic said x-ray looked fine. Orthopedic prescribed physical therapy.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both knees, and suffer from joint pain in my left hip ever since my last knee surgery(lft) . I think this is partly because after my left knee surgery, the joint now hypo-extends about 15 degrees. I think that is the correct term, it bends backwards,,lol. anyhow, this causes my hip alignment to be off. My question is this, how do I approach my Primary care Doctor about refering me to a pain management program?
Avatar f tn So im debating on what i should do, i know i need the surgery but if im gonna have it and then have to have it again im gonna be really upset, and on top of all of this i have hip problems that i have to keep waiting on because of my knee, and i start college in August and i really dont want to have to go there with all these problems, it's just way to much for me to handle. I already suffer from depression and at this point its getting alot worst.
Avatar m tn If flexing the knee and hip to the 90/90 position and rotating the hip internally produces pain and popping, this supports the diagnosis of torn labrum over hip flexor strain. Absence of pain with this maneuver tends to eliminate torn labrum. If wrapping the hip eliminates the pain, and you are satisfied with that, I would be inclined to continue with that. As far as the long term, I'm not sure anyone really knows the answer to that question presently.
Avatar m tn You are describing the exact same kind of pain I have had for many many years. The pain starts in my right hip & radiates down my leg into my knee & down my calf to my ankle. I've been to Dr after Dr but no one can figure out the cause. There is nothing that is seen on xrays or MRI. It just hurts severely at most times. I've not had an injury or accident so that is not a cause. If you ever get an answer be sure to post it so maybe I'll be closer to an answer.
Avatar f tn I’m 52, have had left leg pain (hip area down to ankle) left hip is painful to touch, aching in left leg, pain in knee and stiffness in left knee ( low mobility in knee ). Doctor said my reflexes are overactive. I’ve had MRI cervical, MRI lumbar ( nothing conclusive ). Also having bladder issues. Recurring UTIs or what feels like UTI, bladder control issues and urinary frequency.
Avatar f tn Knee pain is related to hip pain. Knee pain radiates to hips and buttock. Both are awful. My daughter has pertha disease bad hips. They pop out of place and shes only 13. Her ortho doc and my ortho both said knee pain is common with hip problems. Dont let him talk you out of your hip surgery. Youll be fine. Just wanted you to know what may be causing the knee pain.
Avatar m tn However, if the knee pain is due to a local knee problem then the procedure may relieve hip pain but will not remove knee pain. Please discuss this with your doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar f tn ve had it in my left knee for over 2 years now and i want it gone. The doctor referred me to go to the physio, which i did for a while. He would massage my calf muscles and told me to do yoga to loosen my hip and calf muscles. I stopped going to him only because he said the yoga was the only thing that could help it. I have been doing yoga now for almost 2 years and there has been no improvement in the slightest!
Avatar f tn s so i have no idea how it happened. Then i started having pain in my right knee which felt the same way as my left knee when the pain started, it turned out to be that i also developed a plica in that knee to and tore something i forgot what it was called, and my recent surgery was in november and i tore the same thing from before, i dont remember the name of it, i know it started with an L though.
