knee-pain

Avatar m tn Hello. I'm a 14 year old girl and I've had knock knees since I was a child. It really bothers me and I've got a knee pain. What can I do with it now? Please help me!
Avatar m tn I have tons of knee pain!!! I also have pain in my feet (similar to plantar faciitis) and hip flexors. My knees hurt the most, though. I often felt this knee pain even as a child. (We called it "growing pains." Also, beginning at age 12 or so I would feel achey knee pain if I stood for a couple hours at a time.) My knees are also hyper-extended.
Avatar m tn Hello! I'm 14 and I've been having knee pain for 2 years. One doctor told me it's growing pains but I don't really believe it, becuase I don't grow much anymore. The second doctor told me it's because I don't have enough synovial fluid in my knee joints and he offered me injections. I don't know what to do. What if there's something else that causes this pain? I've also got knock knees. Can this be the problem? Please help me!
Avatar m tn My son age 13 had bilateral medial femoral epiphysiodesis surgery (using 8-plates) to correct his genu valgum (knock knees). The impression I had from what the surgeon said beforehand and what I read online is that this is relatively minor surgery and one can expect some pain associated with the surgery, but not limited range of motion.
Avatar f tn i have pain on my left and right knee it feels like someone is stabing it from the inside and it hurts when i run or jump or walk stairs. what do you think is wrong with them?
Avatar f tn Hi there. This seems to be knock knees or genu valgum. It may be idiopathic or because of disease like obesity or rickets. It may also be seen in association with certain syndromes. If this is disabling and interfering with your daily activities, you need to undergo a corrective osteotomy. Consult your orthopaedician to examine you in detail and he would be able to advise you aptly. Take care.
424096 tn?1223931472 Genu valgum is knock-knee deformity. Many healthy children have knock-knee deformity as a trait but some of them develop this deformity due to hereditary or genetic disorders or metabolic bone disease.Due to this, her knees knock against each other and she is prone to falls. Treatment includes lifestyle restriction , bracing, exercise programs, and physical therapy.NSAID are given for pain.Surgery is advised when conservative treatment does not help.
159619 tn?1707018272 I have had many knee injuries over the past few years with considerable chronic pain. MRIs of both knees show tears in the meniscus, bucket tears specifically, as well as grade II MCL tears. In addition to the soft tissue damage, both knees show degenerative OA. I have just relocated and started seeing a new Orthopedic surgeon and he is recommending doing arthroscopic surgeries on both knees which is scheduled for February 3rd.
Avatar f tn I started taking nexium about 3 weeks ago an I started having pain in my right knee, I tried taking it every other day but the pain still kept on.I was taking pepcid also and they both helped me with the acid reflux, but they both gave me joint an knee pain.
Avatar n tn Both knees, radiates from knee up to lower back and sometimes down shins. The pain is not sharp, but a constant dull ache. I describe it like striking a tuning fork... the pain starts in my knees and then radiates out to the other areas. I do get sciatic nerve problems sometimes too. The pain keeps me up at night.
1378884 tn?1315505845 When first diagnosed I could not walk up a flight of stairs due to the intense general knee pain. Now it comes back intermittently for a day or two then it subsides but does not fully go away. I have also felt like I cannot stretch my tendons in my legs enough even after warming them up and stretching for 30 min. I am 55 and have done many bad things to my knees over the years but nothing like this has happened before.
Avatar n tn Really can't stick this pain much longer !! Having really bad pain in both knees can't walk up stairs or down hurts to bed or even sit someone help !!
Avatar f tn Hello first of thanks for the help this site rocks :) So i have been having some really bad knee pain for about 3 years i just had a baby and it hurts so bad when I'm carrying him up and down our stairs. he is only 4 months old, but it fills like my legs are going to buckle from underneath me. they usually always hurt but more when I'm walking up and down the stairs. at night i drench my knees in icy hot.
Avatar n tn I am an athletic trainer and I deal with orthopedic stuff every day. Unless these bumps are painful, I wouldn't worry about it! Don't fix what isn't broken. Especially since the bumps are bilateral (meaning on both legs) I am sure you are right...just the way God made her! I have seen kids with more pronounced fibular heads and I have seen MANY kids that are "knock-kneed". As long as she is pain free, I really truly wouldn't worry.
Avatar m tn Im 15 years old thats the title.
Avatar f tn But at night, the pain, which is like a very bad toothache from just above my knees to my ankles, keeps waking me up. my hubby wants me to take a Percocet before bed so that I can sleep through the night. I'm wondering if I increase my activities at my gym, will this help or hurt the healing process? I use the treadmill and walk in the pool and ride the bike. Also try to do a hot tub for 15 minutes before bed. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
1308443 tn?1302693321 I too have a bit of a knee problem but I want to know, when you stand and your knees are facing forward, are your feet forward as well or are they pointed somewhere else? Cuz my feet go out and that's the problem. I suggest to not do sports with a lot of running. Swimming is a good one. I heard your pain. But you can't stop walking from class to class. For a few tips, stay hydrated, stretch atleast once a day (suppose to do it twice) and keep your muscle strong.
Avatar f tn Around January of 2010 I started experiencing horrible pain in my right knee. After taking some time off from the gym and still experiencing chronic pain, I made an appointment with an orthopedic knee specialist. I had x-rays done and was told that my knee looked beautiful (structure-wise I guess) and that I probably had something called Femoral Pain Syndrome or Runner’s Knee. He recommended physical therapy, a knee brace, and said I should be fine in a few weeks.
Avatar f tn no other problem I go for check up regularly no any other problem every thing is good only pain in Knees also MRI done no problem found pain in knees and muscle pain in legs it's really hard to bend over.
Avatar f tn It is possible it is some cyst a cyst is a fluid filled pouch under the skin it could be the fluid from your knee joint is leaking, and your body has created a pouch to protect it. Flesh colored bumps can also be seen in a condition called Molluscum contagiosum.Acne on the knee cap responds to good skin care and over the counter treatments. Salicylic acid washes and pads containing benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid may be helpful. See a dermatologist. Keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn It could be a ligament or cartilage problem or displacement of the knee cap or even arthritis. There are other medical conditions that can cause knee pain. Do you suffer from gout at all, is the knee inflamed and red or just painful? I would advise you see your doctor for a proper diagnosis. Your doctor may refer you for xray. I have osteoarthritis in both knees, but my right knee is the worst.
