Avatar f tn Hello, I'm 14 years old and i have had pain in my knees, hips, and now on the side of my right shin. I started having pain in my left knee in December of '08. Then my right knee started hurting. Then both of my hips. MY hips are the ones that hurt the most now, not so much my knees anymore. I've been in ballet for 9 yrs also. I've had x-rays (sunrise, and lateral?), blood tests for arthritis but nothing came up.
Avatar f tn I had arthoscopy with a microfracture on my knee January 06, 2014. The pain post surgery is worse than the pain before (and different) and I have physical limitations I didn't have before. I could not extend my leg parallel to the floor while sitting without wincing so I was given a steroid shot and three rounds of Synvisc four months post surgery. Sadly I have not noticed much improvement a month later. I was not told any of this was possible prior to the surgery.
Avatar m tn My Daughter 13y/o, weight 45kg, has right knee pain isolated to the lower outside area of the knee. This pain is preventing the use of the knee and is sever when the knee is bent. She has limited movement with out pain. Currently we are into the 9th week of pain. Other symptoms are numbness of the knee area, Limited swelling (not much) and currently in the last week she has started to get sharp stadding pain, ocassionally the knee gives way.. The injury happened during a jazz dancing fall.
2121656 tn?1395674749 Hyperextension refers to a state of over-movement of the legs towards the front towards the knee cap (over-unfolding on the knee joint). This may not necessarily be caused by an injury and aside non-traumatic fractures/ dislocations, could also result from connective tissue disorders, bone abnormalities etc. I would suggest considering an evaluation by an orthopedician or a sports medicine specialist for a detailed evaluation and suggestion of an appropriate management plan.
565899 tn?1216591914 I know what you are dealing with. The pain is from mid calf to upper thigh in both legs. I am now doing pain management and with the medication and injections, I am able to walk without much pain. Let me know how this turns out for you.

Avatar m tn Alright! Will do! Can I ask whether a knee pain could cause hip problems?

Avatar f tn Hi, I'm 24, a former ballet dancer (stopped when I was 16) with a stress fracture in the second metatarsal of my right foot that has not healed after 3 years of treatment and a possible new stress fracture in my left foot from over compensating. Why is it that my feet aren't healing and keep fracturing? I don't do any strenuous exercising like running or jumping.
Avatar f tn This also causes heel pain, and because of the posture pain is also felt in hip, knee, and lower back. This can explain the pain you feel on and off and also why you fall. Please consult an orthopedic specialist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn I'm 32yr old female. Have always been healthy until a couple years ago. Have hypothyroidism and am taking 25mcg synthroid, very low. Anyway, Sometimes I get these inflamed areas in parts of my body. Like yesterday I had a belt rub my stomach the wrong way while I was bent over. I ended up changing after awhile. By the evening I had a welt, a 4inch by 3inch welt. This morning it grew bigger and raised up. It's pale in color. No heat coming from it. It's firm- a big welted knot.
Avatar n tn I completed six weeks of physical therapy but continued to have severe pain in my entire hip area all the way down to my knee. I also continued dancing, so I figured the pain was continuing because of that. Soon after physical therapy my hip began to make a popping noise every time I lifted my leg in front or behind me, but never when I lifted my leg to the side of my body. I went back to an orthopedic doctor and he suggested more x-rays, but never a CT scan or an MRI.
Avatar f tn I saw an Oesteo for exactly that issue (and back pain from carrying around a heavy bub). I was told to do pilates to rebuild my core strength and yes to be very careful with crunches etc apparently if you're not careful your muscles strengthen but stay separated. So the key is to strengthen them gradually so they re- knit. Good luck!
Avatar f tn my 11 year old daughter has been diabetic for 9 years , she has been going to ballet lessons for a few years now , and her ballet teacher wants her to go onto pointes (ballet shoes with a wood block , to stand on her toes) I'm worried this may damage her feet . has anybody had any experience of this ,or any advice?
Avatar f tn I need some advice please. I yelled at her all the way home from ballet today and feel so bad about it.
Avatar f tn t do anything jarring or holding your head in one position for long. Maybe swimming on your back or with a snorkel? I did some ballet barre exercises in the pool before I got too sick.
579258 tn?1250649343 On the sixth run cycle I started to have some pain in the back of my knee...so decided to listen to my body and that was the last run cycle. Finished off the rest of the 4.25 miles by walking at 3.7 mph to try to make up for it a bit. Cool down walk for 5 minutes after that at 2.5 mph again for 5 minutes, 10 minutes of general stretching, and 3 of the planks described in today's post at 30-second holds each. Whew! I feel good though....except that knee.
Avatar m tn Woke up this morning with severe pains in the stomach again. Its been 4 days of this now. The Valium only helps a little bit and Nexium doesn't seem to help at all. I don't know why my stomach pain and anxiety went away for 2 weeks after the initial 5 days i had the stomach pain and anxiety from the LSD I'm guessing. Ive taken LSD a few times before when i was younger with no after effects. I seem to be now getting depression as well.
2215229 tn?1339342648 Hi, thank you so much for writing to me. Well, I'm on vacations now and it's kind of complicated with my parents. I can't tolerate to see and hear when they're chew and it makes me nervous and I can't tolerate it. My ballet studio is on vacations now and I try to train at home. It's been.. I don't know how to explain it, but I've been very weak the first week of July. Now I'm better.
Avatar f tn I was a professional Ballet dancer in my younger years but now on disability with so much pain to pull back my shoulders that make me very hunched over. With all of these findings I know I'm not exactly normal in anyway. I went from an athlete to someone who must walk w/a cane & controlled by sickening medication. I have raynards as well I.E horrible circulation. I received a second opinion here and they suggested another hospital that " I might find a doctor to help".
1896537 tn?1381900009 Hello all, sorry I haven't been online for a while and I'm straight in with a question!!! I just wanted to know what happens to you when you exercise? I do loads of walking (at least an hour a day) with my son in his buggy and I'm fine with that (apart from my vision fogging right over) but I just attempted a ballet dvd and within 10 mins my arm and legs turned to jelly and were literally trembling. Is this because of the MS or am I just unfit?!
