Avatar m tn The pain lasted for more than 2-3 days.. Now the pain from hip has shifted towards my knee and thigh area. The pain is constant and specially in the area behind my knee, and on thighs. And now the pain has again expanded to the ankle area (the joint between feet and leg). I have tried doing exercises and such activities, and had some pain killer medicines as well, but the pain has not decreased. The pain especially increases during nights.

Avatar m tn I know exactly how you feel. I have been up to 310 lbs. Compulsive overeater! Food solved everything for me. So I thought. Food was my choice of drug especially sugar. A friend introduced to Overeaters Anonymous. I also work the OA HOW program. I go to face to face meetings as well as phone meetings. There is also a book available on the Mayo Clinic website that is excellent. Hope this helps you.

When i am sitting on a chair and i straighten my left leg the pain occurs, and there must be something wrong because my right knee is fine. I also get the pain when i am lying in bed. The pain is most apparent when i lift my left knee cap, you know how you can tense or whatever and your knee cap will move up.

Avatar f tn It sounds like sciatica. Did you have any kind of injury? Ever get pain from riding a bicycle? I think mine is from periformis syndrome, but that's always a guess because it's virtually impossible to correctly diagnose -- it's more a process of elimination. Whatever caused it, go on YouTube and look for exercises to stretch the periformis. Even if you don't have that problem the exercises should help loosen it up. Hot baths in Epsom Salts helped me.

Avatar n tn That's a pretty broad post. Can you afford a personal trainer at a gym? That way you can tell them what you want and they can get you started. You'll only get "huge" legs if you do tons of leg resistance exercises (and if you have the genetic ability to get them without taking steroids, which is unlikely unless you have large legs to begin with).
Avatar f tn I suggest to try to some back exercises you can find them even on YouTube to strengthen that part of your back. it is all to do with posture maybe even try sleeping on your right side I have been trying to do that. I even had an xray it didn't show anything abnormal thank God to be honest I think my pain is from caring a large school bag on one side. make sure you are careful not to have a heavy hand back that will bring you down one side.

Avatar f tn I would suggest resting the knee till the pain and swelling settle. Ice-packs and NSAIDS may also be helpful for relief. After that I would advice seeing a physiotherapist for exercises that would strengthen you hamstrings. You may also consult with your doctor if you would be required to wear a knee brace. Avatar f tn I watch Superherofitness(its something like or close to that) on Youtube. She has this amazing (in place/in home) 3 mile walk that I do daily. When I first started Id have to stop at 1.5miles & take a 15min break than start, after about 2 weeks I could make it the whole 3 miles. Plus she has other fun work out r videos like hip hop, belly dancing, zumba, pretty much something for everybody.

Avatar f tn You also can do muscle strengthening exercises for knee pain.A physical therapist may help in pain management.You can take some NSAID like acetaminophen or ibubrufen for the pain.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have been having pain mainly in my left knee above and to the left of my left knee cap. I have had X-Rays and a MRI to see if any problems can be found. The doctors said they have found nothing wrong. I went a physical therapist around April of last year during spring track. He said I didn't have enough thigh strength. I do the exercises daily he instructed and they seem to not work anymore. Right now I am running winter track.
Avatar f tn I had keen surgery to fix a torn meniscal tear back in may and have arthritis in my keen in the bone for the last six months I have not felt a least bit better still have pain in back of knee and now have sever pain in the inner part of my keen after walking for just ten mins. I just had another MRI today and show the tear was still the but the doctor said that normal to still show the tear after being fix.

But whenever i have to stretch and put my left knee into my buttox the entire knee feels an incredible amount of pain. Also, whenever I try and sit on my ankles, I am in HUGE amounts of pain just in the left knee.
Avatar f tn First you have to find out whether the muscle wasting was the cause or the effect of knee locking or knee pain. Generally weakness of the inner thigh muscles and tightness of the outer thigh muscles causes the knee cap to move from its place and cause knee pain and knee locking. This could have happened in your case if you have a localized muscle wasting only.
