Avatar f tn Get your knee ligaments checked along with quadriceps and hamstrings. The 6 knee ligaments which might get affected are the menisci, collaterals and cruciate ligaments. If you have chronic knee pain in both of your legs then rule out osteoarthritis or other joint problems like Rheumatoid arthritis and other systemic diseases. Go for an X-ray and follow up with an orthopedician for a proper diagnosis. Take care!
Avatar m tn However, I have terrible joints but especially knee pain. My right knee gives me more trouble than the left. IThe pain that I am experiencing is strange to me in that it is not always there. Currently, it is full force, but not all the time, only in certain situations. For example, if I am just standing straight up, there is no pain. My right knee feels a bit funny, but nothing in the form of pain.
2068457 tn?1331879391 I woke up last year at 2am with excruciating pain in my left shoulder (deltoids) it was the most pain i have ever experienced. it lasted for about 2 - 4 minutes. The next morning i could not lift my arm. I went to the physio for about 4 weeks, no improvement. I then went to an osteopath after 3 sessions there was a considerable improvement. It was better but not near perfect 70%.
Avatar f tn This is likely to occur due to injury and instability of some of the major supports of the knee joint, while reconstruction of the ligaments may just be possible in a few cases. You could try using a knee brace for additional support and avoiding exercise. It would be best to discuss the situation, the management plan and the expected, prognosis in detail with your treating orthopedician. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
1961313 tn?1326290364 Hi! Pain on either sides of the knee is usually related to meniscal tears, injuries to the collateral ligaments, and even to arthritis. So on medial side it will be due to medial meniscal tear. It can also be tendinitis due to inflammation of tendon at the knee joint. You will need X-rays and MRIs of the knee to find the exact. Treatment will follow correct diagnosis. Do consult an orthopedic specialist at the earliest.
Avatar m tn I had knee pain in outer side of knee while playing soccer. I took serratiopeptidase + diclofenac potassium capsule by doctors advice. I took rest for 2 weeks but when I started playing it started again. Please advice.

722310 tn?1234762137 He will come to know if he has damaged his collateral ligaments, cruciate ligaments or if there is any issue with menisci in his knee joint. There might be a tendon involvement and no ligament tears so all these issues should be put to rest. Take care!
1961313 tn?1326290364 I have problems with my knees, just general stiffness-but one day I had to get down on my right knee and the pain was extreme,it wasn't necessarily in the knee but to the right side of the knee,it felt like the skin was splitting into,I look and the skin looked fine,so I don't know if it's the tendon or the muscle what ever it is,is very painful,in fact I can't get down on my knees any longer
Avatar n tn A tear to an anterior or cranial cruciate ligament of the knee can cause this kind of acute problem as can invertebral disk disease. X-Rays and palpation of the knee under sedation can diagnosis a cruciate tear. X-Rays and possibly and MRI of the spine can help diagnosis disk problems. A cruciate tear creates a very unstable knee which can account for the falling down and wobbling in a 96 pound dog, but, disk problems can cause wobbling and falling down if there is enough pain.
Avatar f tn once over it, and he said that he thought it was 1 of 2 things, either my knee cap was messed up or down in my knee was, My question is this, what will happen if I don't go to a doctor ( he told me some kind to go to but i forgot, and I currently have no insurance), and does anyone know what it could possibly be and what kind of doctor I need to see?

Avatar n tn Last thursday I had my right leg crossed over my left with my knee leaning against the edge of my desk while sitting. A coworker thought it would be funny to hit my knee. They hit me really hard right on the Vastus Medalius Muscle. It was originally just a little sore but over the next day or so i didn't feel any pain. Over the weekend I started to get more pain below my knee right on the Pes Anserinus Bursa that makes it painful to walk and run alot.
Avatar m tn Nerve impingement at L5-S1 can cause pain in the knees, although a clinical exam is needed to make an accurate diagnosis. Other causes of referred knee pain are injury to the hip joint and damage to the ligaments and meniscus at the knee joint. Joint fusion may alleviate your symptoms. Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn Pain in the front portion of the knee can be caused by bursitis (inflammation of the lining of the joint, possible due to injury while playing), arthritis, or injury to the patella cartilage (front portion of the knee). Pain on either sides of the knee is usually related to meniscal tears, injuries to the collateral ligaments, and even to arthritis. You will need X-rays and MRIs of the knee to find the exact. Treatment will follow correct diagnosis.
Avatar n tn It can be probably due to some sprain or strain to tendons or ligaments in your knee joint. It is mandatory to rest the affected knee and also to apply ice packs. Continue ibuprofen for 3-4 days and also wear a knee support or brace. Do not exert and do not do any weight bearing. If the pain and inflammation continues then you have to go for some scans and follow up with an orthopedician for a proper examination and diagnosis. Take care!
Avatar f tn By your signs and symptoms the doctor would conclude if you have a problem with your ligaments inside the knee. They are very important for you, try to preserve them and when you are sure you did not damage anything, go for all forms of exercise. In future remember always to wear proper footwear and walk on proper ground. Take care!
Avatar f tn The MCL is intact. LATERAL COMPARTMENT: Allowing for motion artifact, there is fraying to the lateral meniscal posterior horn free edge, and the posterior root is diminutive. Superficial chondral fibrillation is present at the posterior meniscal surface of the tibial plateau without subchondral remodeling. Intact lateral collateral ligament complex and structures of the posterolateral corner. INTERCONDYLAR NOTCH: The anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments are intact.
Avatar f tn I think it could most probably be lax ligaments. Get a physical examination of the knee done by your doctor and follow his advise. Until then abstain from exercises, and take rest. Best.
Avatar f tn had a cortisone injection which caused more pain, then a brief period of improvement before increasing pain again. This was two and a half years ago. I have seen several specialists, had an MRI and nothing really untoward is seen. The pain now travels from lower back through buttock and sometimes down the outer thigh. I go for regular physio and he says that all the fascia, muscles and tendons are being affected because so many parts pass over this bursa.
