My first knee replacement was in 2002. Second one was in 2003 (on the other knee). For a number of years now I have had pain in my "knees". Even the tissue surrounding them. I've noticed that I can hear the prosthesis move when I move my leg. I swing my legs and they make a funny noise. Today I went to an orthopaedic surgeon about another (unrelated) problem and asked him about the pain in my knees.

It felt as if the joint pain was moving, started in right elbow with a deep sharp pain and next was in left knee then left ankle tendon. Both calves hurt as if by vigorous exercise and were tender to the touch. By the weekend of March 10th it was in right ankle and shin bone-then right knee. Joints and muscles remain weakened and mildly achy even after the sharp pain subsides.
If the pain comes on bending the knee, then it could be due to Patellofemoral syndrome or runners knee. This happens due to mal-alignment of the knee cap on bending the knee (and hence any imaging study has to be taken with the knee bent), injury to the knee (you may have sustained while playing), flat feet, over tight or over lax muscles around the knee joint.
I am a 20 year old female college student who is fairly healthy and exercises regularly (3-4 times per week). For 1 month I have been experiencing pain in my left knee. The pain occurs mostly above the knee cap and slightly along both sides. I have never had any knee injuries nor do I remember injuring it prior to when the pain began. I made a doctor's appt for February 22nd but it seems to be getting worse and i'm not sure if I will be able to handle the pain.
About 2 weeks ago, while not paying attention (E-mailing) I fell off a curb and landed full force on both my knees onto asphalt. Every time I try to put any force on my knee, or if i brush up against the lower part of my knee I get a sharp pain that feels like I'm grinding glass into my knee. What is this injury, and what can I do to make it go away?
I have been suffering from this for around two months now. I feel pain in and around my knees in the mornings mostly the pain is around most of the time but it's really hurts in the morning or after sitting for a long while in the office. Its also hurts a lot when I sit for a long while in an air-conditioned place that’s why at office I take a walk every half hour out side in the sun.
It progressed to the point that i needed to wear knee supports to walk or else ill be too weak to walk. Knee pain thats sharp and feels like my bones are grinding when I walk. At times my calves would feel tingly or slightly numb. As this went on both my hip joints hurt like hell. Felt like the bones were grinding, and the muscles ached and felt weak and couldnt walk. the pain would shoot down the back or side of my thighs.
If it is just occasionally popping with no pain, it could be nothing and some exercise like knee bends could strengthen your knee. On the other hand, it is painful too especially with swelling you may want to see a doc. If your knee is making a grinding noise for example it could mean that the cartilage is wearing down.
Especially if this continues to bother you check with your pcp or an orthopedic specialist before exercising or anything!
It is really starting to depress me. I have a popping and pulling feeling in my knee that causes excessive pain. My doctor, who I never get to see, I see a physicans assisstant just put me in a knee brace and told me to take over the counter pain meds. She said I need to have a bone scan but can't do that until a hot spot on my knee goes away. I just want this fixed. I have contacted another doctor for second opinion, but am waiting on my doctors office to send medical records.
During the surgery they placed 2 Endor rods going down the middle of my Tibia from knee to ankle. Now that I am making attempts at walking I am having grinding pain and a lot of pain around my knee. My Drs x-rays showed the rod had moved out and that is what I was feeling. He said they can come out now and with minor surgery. My question to anyone, is it to soon to remove the rods? Also, will I be back on crutches for some time? I would appreciate any feedback.
Both my knees click, you can feel grinding when touching the kneecap, and the pain is usually under the kneecap on the inside of the knee. The pain is worse while bending the knee joint. Keeping it straight helps, but does not stop the pain.
I've had x-rays and ct scans, revealing that my cartilage is fine, and my tendons are fine.
Next step is an MRI.

old and since last summer I have been waking up in the morning with joint pain. My elbow joints, hip, and knee joints are all painful. And I have this tired weak feeling so it takes me awhile to get out of bed. The meds I am taking are : Nexium 40mg. twice a day, Amlodipine Bensylate 5mg. once a day, Trilipix 135mg. once a day and Ibuprofen 600mg. when needed. Pravastatin Sodium 40mg. once a day and Alprazolam 1mg. twice a day.
Pain can cause other problems in the body. I had a knee replacement 8 years ago and there is literally no pain now. If you do get the surgery, you may want to order a cooler, which lets you wrap a flap around your knee. The cooler then will recycle iced water through it and help with the swelling and healing. My left shoulder is much lower than right its v painful which travels up neck also if I press lightly inside of my arm just below elbow It causes really loud clonk in shoulder I really want to know if you can tell me what it is and how it should be treated I can't carry shopping or have a bag on that shoulder because of pain and it just looks odd and lower than other side. thank you.
For the past few years, I have been having this bad knee pain when I walk. It constantly feels like theres a "bubble" so when when I walk there is a lot of pressure and feels almost like things are sliding/grinding against eachother. It didnt used to happen as much, but lately it does all of the time. So it prevents me from wanting to walk around or run etc. My dad told me he had the same thing almost, but he got surgery on his.
I've had a grinding pain in right lower quadrant of abdomen (between hip and naval just below naval height) for years. It was one and off but now it is more regular and a daily occurrence at least. It lasts for hours. The area always feels tender. On top of this, the area above this and leading up to just under my ribs has started to swell up massively about an hour after I eat.
