Avatar f tn Does anyone have knee pain like a torn meniscus pain? I went to stand up and I couldn't hardly put weight on it. My husband mentioned maybe it's nerve pain? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn Left knee pain for 7 weeks after twisting to sit 12 pack of pop down. Felt a pop in knee didnt hurt until I walked upstairs. Lateral knee pain and after walking awhile the back of knee hurts. Pain worst when bend knee or go up and down stairs. Pain always there just worst when bend it. Pain has woke me up at night if sleep with knee bent. Xray snd MRI normal so orthopedic said PT and if pain continues come back in a month. PT has me in tears.
Avatar m tn Pain, swelling, popping sound in the knee could be due to arthritis, as it is the most common cause of pain in the knee after recurrent injuries to the knee. Burning, tingling and radiation of the pain to the hip and ankle relates to compression of nerve. I would suggest that you visit a orthopedician and get x-ray and MRI of the knee to confirm with the diagnosis. All the best.
Avatar n tn During my senior season I hurt my knee during practice twice in a day first by falling and landing directly on it and then by twisting it. What resulted was an intense pain on the inside of my right knee that usually came after climbing stairs or having to keep my knees in the same position for an extended period of time (e.g. at a movie, or during a car ride). Eventually I went to a doctor who referred me to a physical therapist.
Avatar n tn While playing racket ball the sole of my shoe stuck to the floor causing my ankle and knee to slide outward. I felt my knee buckle. I am not experiencing any pain unless I twist my knee. There is a small bulge on the outside of my knee cap. No popping noising when I bend my knee, it is hard to totally bend due to tightness from the swelling. I can put weight on it, but having to be really careful walking due to any twisting motion causing pain.
Avatar m tn When I landed, i felt a sharp pain in the middle of my left knee. I did not feel any popping, just a very sharp pain right behidn the patella. I didn't think anything of it that day, and it never bruised or swelled. I laid off the knee for the remainder of the week, but when i started lifting the next week, anything that put stress on the knee hurt. Squats, Legpress, Deadlifts, they all hurt right at the middle of the knee behind the patella.
Avatar m tn It is cartilage and will continue to wear down, that is what you are hearing. It is probably getting caught in different parts of your knee, twisting around with every movement, and this will cause the sound. If it really is tore, you should have it repaired if it is bothering you. If not it will just continue to wear down until there is nothing left.
Avatar f tn My knee is stiff and painful today underneath the knee cap where the pes anserine tendon inserts and to the inside of the knee cap (medially). I also have pain in the middle of the back of the knee, is especially sharp if I push into it. In terms of comfort and daily activities, I am having no trouble walking except that my knee will get a little swollen (very slight) and stiff if I walk a lot.
Avatar m tn I'm 32 and I've never had any sort of leg, knee, or joint problem. Lately I've noticed that when I plant my left foot and pivot on it to turn my body to the right, my left knee makes a popping sound. In the last few days I've noticed that I can feel something move in the same knee when I walk down stairs. It feels like it's located to the left (outside) of the center of the knee. The right knee doesn't have any issues.
Avatar m tn Okay, hopefully this doesn't turn out too long. I'm NOT looking for a diagnosis, obviously. I just need opinions. And yes, I have seen a doctor about this and so far have gotten nowhere which is why I am on here asking for ideas. I have had a "bad knee" for about six years now (as far as I can remember it's been since 2007). My knee pops a lot, especially when I bend down; I can actually HEAR it crunching and popping!
Avatar n tn You may want to see an orthopedic surgeon. The brace, can help prevent your knee from twisting & causing pain. You could have a torn meniscus. I twisted mine and a MRI showed a torn medial meniscus...I had out patient surgery but still have some pain. Atleast I can go up and down stairs and able to walk without a limp. I wear a petellar strap to prevent me from twisting my knee. Buy it at your pharmacy, sporting goods, K-mart. Ortho docs will charge you 3 times more. Just see your doctor.
942127 tn?1276949209 Is there any reason why my right foot would have pain in relation to the left knee injury? I can walk (sort of) on my toes, but cannot walk with my foot flat to the floor. The pain is from the inside across the bottom arch area to the outside closer to the heel. It hurts a little up into my leg.
Avatar f tn However fast forward a week on and I started having shooting pain from my Achilles heel and up my calf every time I walked, this also put pressure on my knee joint thus causing more pain( I have no knee, as this was taken out in 2001) on top of this, my leg feels heavy with tingling/ pins and needles sensation when I rest it...?
Avatar n tn ago I started having knee pain. I twisted my knee at work, and had to kneel for a long time behind my class who were performing on stage. Well, over the last couple wks the pain has gotten worse and worse. Today I CANNOT put weight on it and it is swollen. The pain originates on the inside of my knee, not in the soft spot next to the patella, but outside that. At this pt. the pain has spread all over my knee, but to touch it is super tender in that inside spot.
Avatar n tn They dont occurr on a daily basis and they used to happen with more frequency when I was younger but I still have them today. The pain is usually in my right leg around the knee area. It sometimes, but not often, happens to my left leg and sometimes it happens to both. When I get them the pain is really strong. Sometimes I massage the area but that usually doesn't get rid of the pain even though it does alleviate it.
1524304 tn?1326396974 So, I've had a question. Recently I was kneeling, both knees on the floor, and upon getting up my right knee suddenly had a loud pop/crack and sharp pain. For a while I couldn't move my knee and I waited out for pain to lessen. It did after about 30 minutes. But following days I found that if I move it wrong or bend too much, or put weight on it while bent, it kinda locks. After a moment or two, though, it passes and I can straighten it again.
Avatar f tn Diagnosis of my injury after twisting it when turning a sharp corner when running in house. Felt pull/tug 4 inches or so below middle of knee. Discomfort bending, walking, sitting, squatting, etc. What did I fo. No swelling. What treatments to help it heal. What's my prognosis?
Avatar n tn on regular basis she would have this strange sensation in her left knee sa if she had ants in her knee and would find some relief by twisting it until it popped.About 4 weeks ago but this time it was painful, then about a week later while walking at the park she felt a hard pop with intense pain. After going to the doctor and a mri it was confirmed that one of the two menisci is torn and she is to go for an artheroscopy. What could be that sensation in her knee ?
Avatar n tn s no blood in the damaged part of my meniscus, why do I swell after leg strengthening exercises. I have pain in the knee when twisting the joint, even when simply crossing my injured leg on the other. However, I can run pain free as long get a secure foot plant and I don't twist the knee. Is this consistent with a simple Meniscus tear? The joint itself doesn't seem "right". As though the parts aren't quite fitting together properly.
Avatar f tn I cannot slide on my knee without it popping and locking in a way I can beat describe as my knee getting stuck closed to the point where I have to squeeze it as tightly closed as possible. The pain is 10/10 and I can only unlocking it by hanging my knee over my other leg while lying on my stomach relieving pressure on the outside of the knee. This all started beginning when I injured my knee sliding on wet grass my cleat got stuck and twisted my ankle.
Avatar f tn In March 20, 2008 I fell at work. Hit floor hard, mainly hit R knee hard on floor, all weight went on it. They gave me an X-Ray, Ibuprofen, PT for R knee said it was ok & I was discharged from care & resumed normal work status. I started complaining of pain again shortly after. I had to drag my leg around because it would give out on me while at work. It would swell up. I kept having pain towards the inner part of my knee (where both knees rub onto each other).
Avatar f tn t think much of it, but now Saturday, I cannot straighten or completely bend my knee and I have nonstop pain all around my knee. I really need to know what is wrong as I am a Lifeguard and this is severely affecting work Also, my parents will not take me to the doctor as of yet. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Since then I have still been in pain, knee is catching and locking, and and limp all the time. My right knee is now hurting from compensating for the left knee. I went for another MRI last Wed. and it showas as I said another ter of the posterior horn medial meniscus at the inferior meniscal surface, and says "unchanged from the 4/21/10 MRI" Does this mean they missed a tear then or is this a retear?? The conservative treatment hasn't worked.
Avatar n tn Hello, The knee pain can be associated with any condition so a proper examination and diagnosis is required if it bothers you. It can be knee injury due to knee sprain , prior knee injury ,dislocated knee , dislocated patella, femoral condyle fracture, torn ligament , knee overuse , knee infection due to any bacterial infection , knee inflammation due to synovitis or bursitis or Knee arthritis due to arthritis , osteoarthritis , rheumatoid arthritis or gout and any tumor. Take care!
Avatar f tn My question is, after surgery is it normal for the knee not to be as solid as the good knee od is it likely that it is a rerupture? So far 3 doctors said it feels stable. Also, I'm worried about the safety of an MRI as I'm not sure if any metal was used during the procedure.
1587585 tn?1309432260 I can straighten my leg all the way (but its sore) When I bend my knee back it really hurts. The pain seems to be coming from behind my knee. What do you think is causing the pain?
