Avatar f tn hi there I really need some help and answers, my partner was out on his motorbike on beach when the bike slipped out from under him while he was riding and the bike fell on his inner right knee, he managed to slightly straighten his leg once, that was straight after accident so we thought it may heal itself as didn't think it was to serious, it has now been over 2weeks and he is still unable to straighten leg what so ever, and also now he is starting to get deep muscle and bone aches all ove
655727 tn?1283296048 It does not restore the same level of function that the person had before the damage to the knee joint began. The knee will not bend as far as it did before you developed knee problems, but the surgery will allow you to stand and walk for longer periods without pain. After surgery, you may be allowed to resume activities such as golfing, riding a bike, swimming, walking for exercise, dancing etc.
902868 tn?1242156798 Hi; I have a lot of problems with my right butt cheek. When my lower back is on fire, my butt cheek will be as well. I don't take any chances riding a street bicycle I have a knee replacement and the very thought of falling on that knee kinda makes me ill. I do have an incumbent bike and I still have problems with my butt cheek getting really tender after riding it. I try to ride it very slow everyday, I get a little exercise that way. Take care.
Avatar f tn Hey remm thanks, I was told by Therapist if you keep doing the excercises they gave in PT, it would keep the scar tissue from building back, bike riding and swimming are suppose to be the best. My problem is still can't bend the knee well enough to push the bike pedals all the way around. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn It seems the only pain I have is when I walk because I straighten my knee. when I use the bike my knee never straightens completely, perhaps that is why it does not hurt?
Avatar n tn I am 6 wks pregnant and I did a 15 mole long bike ride along with other cyclists. Is that safe? Or should I lay back from bike riding in my 1st trimester?
Avatar f tn ve really come up with is the accident factor.. Anyone know of any other reason bike riding might not be a good idea during pregnancy? I did go on a bike ride with my son and husband yesterday other than sore legs I feel fine.. Just curious...
Avatar n tn s the biggest concern with bike riding.
Avatar n tn But in terms of biking, the only similar risk they highlight is from injury to the eye (like a finger in the eye in basketball, or a tennis ball in the eye), but not from a general fall on say the hip, knee or elbow, while riding a bike or jogging. Know that i will be riding with a full face helmet and protective goggles. Shouldn't that protect me adequately since i can't take a direct hit to the eyes that way?
Avatar m tn Pain, swelling, popping sound in the knee could be due to arthritis, as it is the most common cause of pain in the knee after recurrent injuries to the knee. Burning, tingling and radiation of the pain to the hip and ankle relates to compression of nerve. I would suggest that you visit a orthopedician and get x-ray and MRI of the knee to confirm with the diagnosis. All the best.
Avatar n tn Hi everyone, what are your thoughts on riding a bike in the park if I'm 5 weeks preggo?
Avatar f tn I am taking 200mg of Celebrex daily for knee pain and I have Hep C. My hep doc sees no problem with it. Sometimes I take two, if I am going to be skiing or riding my bike hard; I'm just hoping that's OK! My two liver biopsys (5 years apart) have been normal.
Avatar f tn hi, i asked my doctor a similar question when i was pregnant but it was about riding a push bike and he strongly recommended that i didnt because it puts presure on your pelvis and can cause problems and as meccah24 said it is extremely dangerous
2063301 tn?1343833074 I started going to the gym around 2 months back and my trainer got me started on a high intensity of squats, steppers and abdomen related exercise such as squats and sit ups. And after about 2 months I developed a back and knee ache. My left knee hurts whenever I climb stairs or stand up from a sitting position but that pain is much more better than before.
Avatar m tn I have not been able to sleep or sit for more than 1 hr before intense pain forces me to massage around the knee, front and back. When this happens the knee feels like stone and I am unable to lift it without using my hands. It then takes me up to a minute before my knee will allow me to walk without feeling that the spongy feeling and pain will cause it to give out. I have been going to physio 3 X a week for 3 and one half months.

1470596 tn?1286713970 I use an elliptical and stationary bike for the bike my routine is first 90 seconds @ 60-65 rpm then 30 sec. @ high intensity then back to 90 sec @ 60-65 you alternate this for 20 minutes with a 5 minute cool down try to get your heartrate up to your maximum rate that would be 220 minus your age P.S. If you are still going to run then don't do it on pavement and buy good shoes!!!
1431839 tn?1290812315 I had a variety of injuries, mostly soft tissue (a huge hematoma on the inside of my right thigh from groin to knee when I yanked the bike seat off its rails, two strained/separated shoulders, a sore left hip, big deep hematoma on the right outside thigh that they originally feared indicated a broken femur, left knee with medial pain and a bursa that still hasn't calmed down, a sprained or partially dislocated ankle, strained neck and a broken fibula).
