Avatar m tn m not saying that your weight will prevent surgery being done again, but what i would say is that being overweight does put more stress on your body and can increase pain. I used to be overweight and since losing my excess weight(through diet, not excercise) I have noticed definate improvement in my pain levels, mood and general health.
Avatar m tn l am wondering if you have any advice on how to make it better, is losing weight the only way that will cure the problem, could my weight have casued permanent damage and the pain will be there for life?
Avatar n tn I hobble around in pain , so I sit alot in pain but the idea of exersise is out. I know i need it. How can I start off losing weight and exersising when even walking hurts too much?
Avatar f tn the pain is at the right side of my right knee, its situated near the fibula, not indicating that my bone is the one hurting, the pain is distinctive as it only hurts in a manner or form of a thread, the pain doesn't take up all of the right part of my knee, its just a thread shape pain that seems to extend from the femur down to the fibula.
Avatar f tn I'm arthritic and want to and need to lose weight due to my knee pain. If I cannot exercise and I stay on my calorie trackor will I've able to still lose the weight still?
Avatar n tn Has anyone out there actually had an ongoing sciatica condition like this..........lost weight...........and had it make a difference in the sciatica condition? I know losing weight will make you feel better anyway, but specifically did it help your sciatica condition?
Avatar f tn so lets stick to weight gain... by losing all the baby weight ur knees (if its not arthritis) should go back to normal... the weight we put on during pregnancy makes us put more weight on our knees which are the main supporters of our body, and the tendons are hurt by all the weight... i still have tendonitis after the surgeries because of the trauma caused to my tendons by hte surgeries... so i hurt a lot during the cold and rainy days... or when standing for long periods of time...
Avatar m tn sudden knee pain during pt and continued pain interior medial aspect. medic took xrays - all ok. Soft tissue issues. therapist can feel the popping of (muscle, ligament, tendon???) during flexion and extension. It feels like something has to pop over something else for leg to straighten. It hurts when it does. Occurs during weight-beating and non weight bearing. Therapist says muscle may be increasing in bulk but not stretching out causing other soft tissues??? to have to pop over them.

Avatar f tn OMG.....a majority of my worst itching episodes are in the middle of my back too. It is enough to drive you crazy when you can't reach the spot. I use a back scratcher too and have already torn my back open because the itching was so intense. I have yet to find a cream that works either. Old age? I don't consider 40's old (will be 41), but my joints sure feel old. Does the chiropractor help with the knee pain? I have never gone to one. They kind of scare me....
Avatar f tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. Knee pain after injury could be due to many reasons like, fractures, ligament rupture or infections like bursitis, arthritis and due to accumulation of blood. Is there any swelling or redness or warmth? It could most likely be bursitis as pain is not severe and is experienced only on putting weight on it or bending it. It would always be better to get an x-ray done and visit a orthopedician for further advise on your condition. Best.
Avatar f tn I have been suffering from knee problems for years, i was very overweight and after x-rays was told it was severe deterioration and had no cartilage left but was too young to operate (36). Fast forward to a couple years later, i lost all the weight (150lbs) but knees are still painful in anything i do (if i go for a small walk, i’ll be ok but then my knees are so stiff i can’t go up the stairs when i get home).
Avatar f tn My mother has a calcification of knee joint in one of her knees but externally(doctors said that generally, the calcification is internal). She is 50 years old. She went to 2 doctors, one of them told her that it's not worth it to do a surgery until 65, the other one advised her to do it now. She feels a lot of pain before her regular period in the knee and she can't kneel comfortably. ( N.
614557 tn?1243708351 Also if you are not at your optimal weight you put more wear and tear on the knee which also can shorten the life span of your knee and excess weight also makes you a less desirable surgery subject. Have you been told you need a total knee replacement but that you are too young?
Avatar n tn t been able to give me any information about what I could have done to my knee. I have been focusing on rehab and losing weight but so far, no improvement. Anyone still think I tore my ACL or reinjured in some form or another?

As a result, I have gained the nine pounds I lost and added 7 more.Approximately two weeks ago, I started to exercise again, managing to workout four days each week, although no change in weight. Any suggestions?

This after having been denied food for 9 days, then 6 days of regular diet Lately, I noticed my watch is not tight on my wrist anymore, I weighed myself yesterday. I now weigh 175 lbs.
