Avatar m tn I was recently playing volleyball about 2 weeks ago and i was diving for a ball hitting the same part of my knee on the ground (lateral side of knee). Ever since the 3rd time hitting it on the ground i noticed swelling in the spot and a little bit of pain, then 2 weeks later i am playing again and still landing on the same part of my knee, instantly after my knee feels stiff and very painful to move and walk.

I removed it after 25 days, it was little better for 2 days, then again the pain is back. After few days, went to orthopedic, he said no problems and advised me to do some exercises. Then also no use. I have still have the pain in my knee and following parts....couldn't talk for more than 10 mins. Could you please advise me how to solve this and become normal.
888841 tn?1242516603 After wear and tear, sometime simple or after a minor or major knee injury this cartilage can tear. And again It can tear without any know incident or accident. Usually an MRI is required to confirm this diagnosis. However your physician will have a good idea the sourse of your pain from a thorough examination and will proceed accordingly from there. Do you notice a clicking in your knee or does it get "caught" when you are moving it? Is there swelling or redness?
Avatar f tn Pain in the back of knee when walking up and down steps. Also buckling and giving in while walking at times. I am a competitive gymnasts. The pain is right where you bend your knee in the back What could this be?
Avatar m tn It has had extensive physical tests and on the third day in i hurt my knee. The pain was sharp and intense the day i hurt it on the outside of my knee. My knee never buckled or twisted or popped to indicate something bad happened. I was just walking up stairs after a short jog about 100m and my knee began to lock up and have intense pain that day. I fought through the pain that day and made it to the next day of training.
Avatar f tn I cannot help, I'm not a doctor, but I can give you my thoughts. Is there a chance you can get a second opinion? Do you have free health, or good health insurance? Can you get to an actual hospital where you can tell the ER doctor EVERYTHING and see what they say? Again I'm not a doctor so I am not recommending or prescribing, but if I were you, I would maybe go to another pain specialist and ask about things like "nerve blocks" etc.
Avatar m tn Following injury I took a radiograph of the patella that showed there has been no damage to it. Total knee restraint period was approximately 5 days. Now 6 weeks after injury I am still unable to walk properly , every step involving pain , pain that seems to be transmitting across the patella .

Avatar f tn also sort of felt that it was somehow my fault or just my problem and so it helps, but is sad, to know that I am not alone and that the TKR is not for everyone the panacea of knee health and pain resolution that it seems. Thank you for your response.
Avatar f tn I also have palpable pain, when tapping on the bone lightly, hurts and even hitting it against edge of my car accidently tonight with little force almost had me in tears.. Contusion of fracture what's your opinion? If it's just a basic contusion I would rather treat it at home because I have a very time consuming schedule that's hard to fit an appointment into.
Avatar f tn I had total knee replacement in April of 2007 and continue to have a nagging pain in the knee area as well as it stays slightly swollen all the time. The pain is a burning and stinging sensation and is made worse when I try to walk any length of time. Therefore, I don't get much exercise. The pain subsides with rest at night but when arisinig in the morning it's back and still swollen. Due to the swelling the knee doesn't bend as far as it should.
1092452 tn?1257350509 I can tell you from their experience that everyone heals at different rates. Pain should be less after surgery than it was before surgery once the initial surgical pain has ceased. Is your knee warm to touch or red or swollen? I don't know what your surgeon is telling you. If you haven't seen him recently I suggest that you return for an evaluation. If he ignores your complaints and concerns than I suggest that you see another ortho.
Avatar m tn I've recently started skateboarding again its been about 4 months and I usually skate at most twice a week. Lately I've been feeling pain on the outside of my right knee after about an hour of skating. I've realized I usually land on my right leg if I'm jumping off a trick that I know I'm not going to land and this happens repeatedly. My right leg is my front leg when skating so when I land on it I'm also stopping my forward movement.
Avatar f tn Hi JB, Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am glad that you have found us but very sorry to hear about your knee pain. In my personal opinion it is always best to get a second opinion when you have questions or are unsure what direction to go. It just can't hurt. Maybe he/she will have another option for you and a new set of eyes, experience and thoughts cannot be detrimental. "Bad knees" and TKR strongly run in my family. Each memeber has had a bit different experience.

Avatar n tn Numbness of my left arm, twitching in neck, muscular twitches in lower legs, throbbing knee pain with a pulling in my left hip., changes in vision, numbness in head and face and one occasion of numbness in my tongue, persistant diarrhea for more than three days at a time at least twice a month. My stomach also feels very hard and I am very tender in my uterine and ovarian areas. And, oddly, sex is still painful even after 4 months.
Avatar n tn One problem I experienced was pain from having the slightest pressure. It did go away, but it took a while. I think it was likely caused by swelling pressing on the nerves around my knee - and also may be the result of having nerves cut, then being very sensitive while they regenerate. I, too, had pain radiating downward, and had bad leg and foot cramps that woke me up at night.
Avatar f tn The only friction on my knee is my pant and they are strait legged pants, no tightness or friction. Once I drain it it hurts a little but no deep pain. The scrape took 3 weeks to heal as it was a deep abrasion. I was so happy it was gone until yesterday when I noticed the 1st blister. Then today when it was clearly filled again.
Avatar m tn I felt no discomfort then, but each day afterward for about a week I felt first pain on the lateral side of the knee, then the pain moved to the medial side of the knee, now the only discomfort is on the posterior portion of the knee in the soft tissue with my leg straight as I walk. It was bad enough last week that I was limping, (almost ready for a cane) but it was intermittent. What happened to my knee and what should I do to heal it and for how long?
Avatar f tn Towards the end of my vacation, I was walking on a road that went up and down in elevation and started to feel pain in my knee. 2 days later my knee was sore and it hurt to bend it. It hurt a lot more when I was walking up stairs or up a hill. I bought a knee brace and took it easy on my knee, but every once in awhile when I go for a walk of a couple of miles, I get the same pain. There isn't any bruising or swelling. The pain concentrates in the front underneath the knee cap.
